About a month ago, I had lunch at Steam, choosing a dish off the Menu which sounded very tasty, Cornish Sausage with onions on a soft roll, chips and coleslaw. When it came it was nothing but a glorified Hot Dog on a long bread roll which had either been defrosted from the freezer or stale. The chips tasted like... More

Thank you for your review of our restaurant. I am sorry that the Western Hound was not to your taste. Our food is freshly prepared using ingredients from local suppliers and the Western Hound is our Cornish version of a hot dog with the sausage from Brian Etherington and the soft roll from Chough Bakery in Padstow, with our own... The bar and restaurant service was great. The food was Wetherspoons-like. Very little care and attention paid to the quality. Not why anyone would want to pay ott prices for food that can be bought for a fraction of the price down the road.

You could easily walk past this place and just think its a hotel...Don 't! We spotted the beach bar sign and headed round the back to find a great terrace looking over 2 beaches and views out to Newquay town and harbour. You then venture inside to a well decorated and spacious bar with great staff. So went back at... More

This is a great venue for meeting friends over coffee and cake or a cheap and cheerful lunch. It's currently my favourite place to hang out whilst on maternity leave as it's also very child and baby friendly. I often come here alone with the baby in the afternoons and don't feel uncomfortable at all to just sit on the... More

We went for the second time for food this time and thought its a lovely place and didn't realise how big it is, lovely view from the back. Ordered a starter which took 45 minutes to arrive, but did taste lovely. but the main was average and nothing special it was like it had been cooked first as the chips... More

Popped in for a drink. The location & the bar were great with wonderful views over the bays. The only thing that let it down was that the tables were sticky & dirty. A staff member came over quickly & cleaned the table on my request so I was perfectly happy & service was courteous & friendly But I did... More

Food was lush, good size portions and decent value for money. Kids meals also really good size. Would defiantly recommend.
