Having lived in Newquay for several years, we were under-what turned out to be-the mistaken view that this pub was for the youngsters. However, having had our family down for a few days, we decided to call in for lunch. 5 of our party of 8 were over 60 and we were all impressed with the service, choice of food... More

This was one of my favourite bars/restaurants in Newquay. The atmosphere is great with a really mixed crowd of people, there are plenty of places to sit & the music was good. Even at its busiest, service was quick, we never waited long at the bar and the food we had was the best we tasted all weekend, freshly cooked,... More

Staying in Newquay for one night, wanted to make the most of it and have some nice food and a beer. Someone recommended the Central to me so as it was a 5 minute walk from my hotel I went with it. The food was fantastic, Surf & Turf is definitely recommended. The beer was fairly expensive but in a... More

It's a good name for this place. It is right in the middle of the busiest part of Newquay, and plays a central part in the night life of the town. It is a large pub, with an extra bar on the upper floor. It caters mainly for a young crowd, but my wife and I, in our mid sixties,... More

Really tasty home made food in a central location in Newquay town. Really lovely pub to suit all ages - they've got it all just right here.

We popped in here for a drink and the atmosphere was quite serious. Perhaps it's different during the day, I hope so!

Just back from a wonderful meal at The Central. The welcome was warm and the staff attentive and polite. We went for the steaks cooked on hot stones with a bottle of wine for £30. We were shown the best way to cook the steaks as we had not cooked on hot stones before. The steak was beautifully lean and... More

My wife enjoyed a rare evening away from the kids and went to the Central for their steak meal deal. We had two sirloins served in hot stones (you cook them yourselves) served with chunky chips, fresh salad and a bottle of house wine for 30 quid! Very good indeed!

We stopped here for some food with some friends. We had eaten here a few years ago and from what we can remember the food was much better. We ordered our food at the bar and the staff were very friendly and showed us where all condiments / cutlery was. And before long the the food arrived, no wait at... More
