A great restaurant with lovely view of the lake. The food is fantastic, all freshly prepared and good sized portions and very reasonably priced. Children well catered for too. Book early as gets very busy, which says it all! The platypus family.

Recommended by a friend, glad he did. Situated by the Newquay boating lakes the place was updated a few years ago. Very pleasant experience. The food was delicious served in a relaxed atmosphere in lovely surroundings Staff very nice. This is no ordinary cafe, a restaurant at night, with a great menu. One is one of the best meals I... Had lunch with my family in this lovely cafe with view over the lake. Open sandwiches very tasty served with good sized salad. Jacket potatoes huge! A nice place for lunch away from hustle and bustle of town. Probably best to book.

Enjoyed a relaxed coffee and teacakes during an afternoon visit, pleasant position, very nice coffee, not expensive. Daily newspapers provided, clean and bright environment. Enjoy walking around the adjacent boating lake and gardens. I remember this café when it was a greasy spoon, now it is very modern and clean. Only down side if you call it that, was that... More

Good food, although everyone seemed to be dressed very smart for a cafe. Hard to get a table so i strongly advise booking a few days beforehand

I have visited the Lakeside Cafe in Newquay many times over the years. When it was the local meeting place for mums to grab a cup of coffee and a chat. Since the present owners took over who are a husband and wife team, they have done an amazing job up grading it and opening in the evenings too, well... More

Menu variety is a little on the sparse side however, this is augmented by the specials board. All food is very tasty and fresh from sardines through to the steak. Staff were very friendly and made you feel welcome. There was no feeling of being rushed and the atmosphere was really buzzing, with all tables joining in to wish someone... More

Just returned from the Lakeside in Newquay. Food was delicious with generous portions. I had the green Thai salmon and prawn curry with sticky toffee pudding for desert. The cafe over looks the boating lake and its large glass windows provide an excellent view. Staff are friendly and helpful. The coffee is good too!

Having heard how great this cafe was, I took my brother and sister-in-law there for coffee. The staff were not very friendly or welcoming. The coffee was very good and would have returned for a meal later but were put off by the cold atmosphere, constant crashing of crockery and scraping of chairs & tables on the floor making it... The Lakeside Restaurant, Trenance Road, Newquay With descriptions of ‘first class’ and ‘best in Newquay’ on trip advisor, one cannot help but head towards this cafe/restaurant to experience the delights on offer. The Lakeside is, as it suggests, overlooking the lake with remote controlled boats, teams of ducks and a colony of gulls pruning themselves on the water banks. They... More
