Friendly, good portions and ideal if you cant get into Fifteen or Beach Cafe. Ok were are not the brightest bunnies in the hutch as we didn't book on either day and were 8 people so couldn't get into Jamie Oliver's Fifteen or the Brach Cafe at Watergate Bay. We called in here impromptu after a fab walk on the beach with our dog. We sat outside on the terrace with an amazing view of Watergate Bay. We enjoyed a great couple of hours taking in the scenery. We decided to eat and were glad we did. I had fish n chips and hubbie had fresh mackerel, salad n... More

We stopped here for a quick pint which was spoilt by the fact it was dog friendly. Sorry but we do not like dogs particularly in pubs where food is being served. As soon as we sat down one of the dogs was violently sick and the owner and the pub were reluctant to clear it up. It was hot... More

Had a family outing to visit my son who lives in Newquay and he took us to The Phoenix at Watergate Bay. The drive from Newquay is breathtaking. Park on the hill as it's only £3 for the day rather than Pay & Display where £3 gets you 2 hours. The walk from the hill along the coastal path is... More

We've just returned from a weeks stay at The Village at Watergate Bay and we can't fault one single thing about the resort. The Phoenix added to our wonderful experience of the area as we enjoyed a couple of good meals there washed down with a couple of pints for my husband and a couple of large glasses of chilled... After a great walk along the lovely beach at Watergate Bay why not stroll the short distance to the Phoenix & have a bite to eat, washed down with a cheeky beer. Great location with an outdoor terrace to take in the views. Dog friendly, a real bonus!

Would have loved to have coffee here after a good walk along the beach but sadly just as we'd ordered our bus turned up. However I wanted to say that it looks like a great place to eat and drink and the guy serving was really friendly and helpful and not put out at our having to dash before he... More

Been here a few times over the years when we have been on holiday. This last time was just ok. Nothing special. Really small menu although there was quite a few extras on the specials board. Husband had a burger which was fine. I had fish and chips which was ok. Wonderful view of the bay.

We had lunch on a quiet Thursday in early May, and sat in the enclosed part of the balcony, with a great view of the sea. We both had the beer battered fish and chips, which was excellent. It was a little early in the season, so the place was quiet, which was perfect for us. A nice relaxed atmosphere,... More

Fantastic food, relaxed atmosphere, wood burner, dog friendly. Best mussels in the UK and the most amazing view at no extra charge!
