We called in for an early evening meal. The food was very average for the price. I ordered a seafood pizza from the specials board with 'mussels, king prawns and squid' for £14. The pizza arrived with no prawns. The rest of the food was okay but overall not a great experience

Beer and nachos, good friends, family, happy children and a gorgeous sunset over the sea - just wonderful. Also delicious main courses of curry, fish and chips, scampi and pasta for the children. Great as always - we'll be back as soon as we can get back to the bay :)

We have been for lunch twice and we had good food and good service both times sitting upstairs. Easy access to parking and the beach!

We visited here a few times during our recent trip to Newquay, it's in a great location and the staff are attentive and friendly, we didn't have chance to eat here however the menu looks good and is priced reasonably judging by what we saw. Had some local ales which fairly priced. The bar and outside area was clean and... More

Very nice menu and food was good. Only problem is getting a seat and waiting for service. It is one of only three eateries in a popular holiday spot which gets very busy and although there is a sizeable seating capacity, it gets very booked up. They need to update it to match the prices especially outside which is quite... More

Laid back seaside pub that provides really good fish and chips and beer. This is the best place to have a good family meal in water-gate bay (sorry Jamie!) as food is copious and delicious.

This is a pub-like restaurant set in the scenic Watergate Bay near Newquay. It is just a short walk from the coastfront and scenic paths. We were 2 families totally 6 people. I ordered a burger with chips. The chips were gorgeous. Burger was not bad but the texture of the meat was not of fine quality beef. Some of... More

We found The Phoenix by accident. It was heaving with people and many dogs but just not enough table. For the amount of customers there was not enough staff and we queued for approx 20 mins to get to the bar to get a drink and order food. Then we waited for approx 1 hour for the food to arrive.... Sorry you found that there were not enough tables, we are limited on space as we are a small family run pub that gets very busy in the summer. We are not a restaurant. As previously mentioned we are a small pub and have a small bar area, which only permits two people behind the bar, thus in summer it... More

Amazing location. Beautiful views of the sea. Staff were all very friendly. Mackerel special was lovely. Children's pasta dish was lovely. Chilled out atmosphere, worth a visit.
