There is nothing quite so British as a mini-break to the Cornish coastline, and Beaucliffes is a stellar restaurant in Porth tucked away inside the Porth Veor Manor Hotel that is ideal for romantic mini-break meals for two. With coastal views and a superb modern dining room this restaurant has oodles of nostlagic charm without the decaying decor, and is popular with both daytrippers and locals. Beaucliffe's locally sourced, seasonally changing menu offers a variety of British classics with a noughties twist, and signature dishes include the medallions of Westcountry pork tenderloin with a red cabbage, garlic and lime coleslaw and mustard dressing, and the seared Cornish beef with colcannon mash and Guinness gravy.

5 Years ago we had a 60 birthday celebration and all was well. Not so this time. Party of 5 and four of us chose the Prawn Cocktail. To start with to put red onions in a Prawn Cocktail is not the done thing... they are too powerful. Also when you have a Prawn Cocktail it is usually served with... More

Had a three course meal for two people. Set price if £29.95. As a Gourmet Society member there is an offer of buy one three course meal and get one free. Very good food, nicely presented, quick/efficient service. Nice view over Porth beach but the view is slightly restricted by the shrubbery and this could do with trimming to enable... More

To be honest I was not expecting much despite the delightful people I spoke to when making the booking as the website does not do the place justice. Despite the restaurant needing a little bit of updating with regards to its decor, we were given a lovely table in the conservatory with fantastic views over the bay. The staff could... More

Stunning location. The food was beautifully presented and so good we had all three courses (oink oink!) would most definitely visit again, especially a little out of the busy season.

I had the cheaper meal (2 Courses) The tomato soup was luke warm. The main course consisted of 2 small chicken breasts, 1 skinny carrot with top on, half a small beetroot, 5 green beans and 4 potatoes in their skins with jus. The cutlery was of the cheap variety with dish washer water marks on it.

We dined at Rick Steins Seafood Restaurant in Padstow earlier in the week, but we both agreed that the Beaucliffes provided a more pleasant experience and at a reasonable price. The fillet steak was the best we have experienced for a long time in the UK. Our thanks to the chef.
