Welcome to Squid Ink restaurant situated in the historic fishing port of Looe in South East Cornwall. This intimate 28 cover restaurant is chef owned and opened in July 2008. Housed within a character filled period building the decor is a fusion of contemporary and antique offering an eclectic blend of old and new.Looe is a pretty seaside town and important Cornish port selling mainly day caught fish from small trawlers, netting boats and line fishing boats, where the highest EU quality level of E (excellent) is electronically `attached' to almost every box of fish. Day boats are considered one of the more sustainable ways to fish, and they also provide the freshest fish (it hasn't been sitting on a boat that has been at sea for a week or more). We are committed to offering outstanding service our menu includes a dietary key indicating which dishes may not be suitable for allergy sufferers or those just wishing to avoid certain foods such as dairy. If however you have any additional dietary requirements you are welcome to discuss them with the chef who will endeavour to accommodate them.

Best restaurant in Looe

Squid ink fully deserves its current rating as the No. 1 restaurant in Looe. Sadly it is now only open on Saturday and Sunday evenings so it's a good idea to reserve a table if you want a really first-rate dinner at the weekend. Also sadly, as a previous reviewer noted, Warren (chef) and... read more

Came here with my partner for my birthday and we both had a lovely experience. The food and service were both fantastic. I really enjoyed the complimentary amuse bouche. The restaurant is only open in the evening on weekends. Be sure to book in advance to avoid disappointment as it was fully booked when we visited and people were being... More

Came here to have so fresh seafood. Was told to visit by friends. Glad we did, it was nice and fresh. Mussels were ever so slightly over cooked. Didn't spoil it though. Good place.

We had a wonderful meal at Squid Ink last Sunday. The quality and variety of food was superb. We hear that the owners are planning to sell when a buyer can be found. That would be a very great pity and a loss to those people who enjoy good food in a pleasant environment.

We were intrigued by the sign advertising 'eclectic food' and went to have a look. Disappointed that there were no tables for the Saturday night, we booked for the Sunday. - This restaurant is only open on Saturday and Sunday nights. From the moment we arrived, the service was fantastic, we were seated in the small but comfortable bar area... More

Fully deserving of it's number 1 rating. The food was excellent, the ambiance perfect and the front of house service first class - attentive but friendly. Pre dinner drinks, 2 x three course meals, a bottle of wine and coffee for less than £90.00 is good value in itself; but when the food is this good its outstanding. If you... More

Everything about this restaurant is first class. The service & ambience are exceptional & the food can't be bettered. As regular diners out we can honestly say that this is one of the best eateries we have ever visited. Unfortunately they now only open at weekend so prior booking is an absolute must but well worth the effort. By far... More

What a fantastic place. Six of us ate here for a double birthday celebration on Saturday night and we had a great evening. The food was excellent, in fact I'd go so far as to say it was faultless. The staff are very friendly and very efficient. We can't believe we had such a lovely meal for such a reasonable... More
