Welcome to Squid Ink restaurant situated in the historic fishing port of Looe in South East Cornwall. This intimate 28 cover restaurant is chef owned and opened in July 2008. Housed within a character filled period building the decor is a fusion of contemporary and antique offering an eclectic blend of old and new.Looe is a pretty seaside town and important Cornish port selling mainly day caught fish from small trawlers, netting boats and line fishing boats, where the highest EU quality level of E (excellent) is electronically `attached' to almost every box of fish. Day boats are considered one of the more sustainable ways to fish, and they also provide the freshest fish (it hasn't been sitting on a boat that has been at sea for a week or more). We are committed to offering outstanding service our menu includes a dietary key indicating which dishes may not be suitable for allergy sufferers or those just wishing to avoid certain foods such as dairy. If however you have any additional dietary requirements you are welcome to discuss them with the chef who will endeavour to accommodate them.

Booked after reading good reviews on this site so thought we would return the favour. Met by friendly staff at the door and sat in the cosy bar area for pre dinner drinks. Must say food was excellent highlights being the black tiger prawns and the lemon sole wrapped around salmon. Nice wine selection and reasonably priced. Very attentive staff... More

Oh my! Lovely food and lovely place with lovely service. It has a very pretty interior, simple but warm and beautiful. One special was wild mushroom risotto that was utterly fantastic. Our party of 5 was happy with all our choices... and we all tried different things. Fresh fish available. My impression is that squid ink would consistently be a... More

Consistently good. Service is unobtrusive but polite and friendly. Nice ambience, good standard of decor. Quality food, freshly caught daily. Ranked #1 in Looe a reason. Try it you won't be disappointed

Having previously read reviews on Trip Advisor about the Squid Ink I knew that I had to book a table as the restaurant is only open on a Saturday and Sunday and was so glad that I did. We received a lovely welcome as soon as we walked through the door and after a drink we were given the set... More

A wonderful restaurant! We went for my Husbands birthday and found the food to be top notch! The service was great and the owner was at front of house. She was very friendly! There was a rather 'loud' man in the restaurant at the same time as us, he took it upon himself to walk straight in to the kitchen... More

Thank you Gemma for posting such a kind review. We are tremendously lucky to have a wonderful team of employees who have helped us develop our family run restaurant into something we are extremely proud of. Your comments about the service and food are very kind... as to Warren being 'patient'... you have made his day... Yorkshire men aren't renowned... More

We had a good night here. It's only open weekends so it was fully booked. We were seated on a leather sofa whilst we picked our menu, we were also served our drinks order. Once we ordered we were lead to our tables, a very nice touch. The food and service was pretty good, my only criticism would be that... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your visit to our restaurant, its with sadness that you felt your steak had too much fat for your personal liking, Warren would have changed it had we been made aware. As to the dessert , we don't over sauce the sticky toffee pudding as its served with Crème... More

We booked to eat at the Squid Ink during our short stay in Looe. It is only open on Saturday and Sunday evenings so you definitely need to book a table.
