Description: Welcome to Squid Ink restaurant situated in the historic fishing port of Looe in South East Cornwall. This intimate 28 cover restaurant is chef owned and opened in July 2008. Housed within a character filled period building the decor is a fusion of contemporary and antique offering an eclectic blend of old and new.Looe is a pretty seaside town and important Cornish port selling mainly day caught fish from small trawlers, netting boats and line fishing boats, where the highest EU quality level of E (excellent) is electronically `attached' to almost every box of fish. Day boats are considered one of the more sustainable ways to fish, and they also provide the freshest fish (it hasn't been sitting on a boat that has been at sea for a week or more). We are committed to offering outstanding service our menu includes a dietary key indicating which dishes may not be suitable for allergy sufferers or those just wishing to avoid certain foods such as dairy. If however you have any additional dietary requirements you are welcome to discuss them with the chef who will endeavour to accommodate them.

Every aspect of this restaurant hits the mark, the food, the surroundings and the staff are all excellent and I could not find fault with any part of the evening. We dined here on the last night of a week long holiday in Looe and I wish we had found this place sooner and eaten here more than once. The... More

Luckily we came across this fabulous restaurant on the first night of our holiday and so were able to get a booking for the last night of our break. We'd had good food all week but this was the best and so a perfect end to our stay. The menu was inventive and local and very very tasty. It took... More

A party of 8 of us booked well in advance and we are glad we did. Easy to see why it is rated so highly on Trip Advisor The service and quality of food was as good as I have experienced in any restaurant. When I arrange my next trip to Looe, the first thing I will do is book... More

This is a pleasant, friendly restaurant tucked away in a narrow street close to Looe seafront. We booked some time in advance and the email communication was excellent. On arrival we were seated in the bar area where a charming lady allowed us time to make our choices before showing us to the table. Unsurprisingly, and to our pleasure, the... More

Booked before going to Looe on holiday and glad we did as they were booked up days in advance. Great service from the outset with a really nice choice on the menu. The food was prepared to a very high standard and presentation. The restaurant itself was nicely decorated with a quality finish. Friendly staff were in no rush to... More

Visited Squid Ink whilst in Looe on holiday. It is a small family run restaurant. The food was lovely and the staff very friendly. A great evening from start to finish and we would highly recommend this restaurant.

This was our second visit to this marvellous restaurant and we were delighted to find that standards were as good, if not better, than the first time. The food was excellent, and very good value given the quality. Service was exemplary, a perfect blend of being given enough attention, and being left alone! From the field raspberries "amuse bouche, veggie... More

This is a lovely place to come for an evening meal. Whether as a couple or as a group, you will always feel welcomed and be able to enjoy an unrushed meal. The menu is varied and wheatfree diets (my particular food intolerance) are catered for - they make their own bread. I did not miss out on any of... More

We stayed in Cornwall for two weeks and ate at some amazing places, including Rick Stein's seafood restaurant. For me, this was the outstanding meal of the holiday. My 7 year old daughter hates the usual kids meals and she had the adult menu. She absolutely loved the scallops to start followed by a delicious seafood risotto. Everyone's meal was... More
