Welcome to Squid Ink restaurant situated in the historic fishing port of Looe in South East Cornwall. This intimate 28 cover restaurant is chef owned and opened in July 2008. Housed within a character filled period building the decor is a fusion of contemporary and antique offering an eclectic blend of old and new.Looe is a pretty seaside town and important Cornish port selling mainly day caught fish from small trawlers, netting boats and line fishing boats, where the highest EU quality level of E (excellent) is electronically `attached' to almost every box of fish. Day boats are considered one of the more sustainable ways to fish, and they also provide the freshest fish (it hasn't been sitting on a boat that has been at sea for a week or more). We are committed to offering outstanding service our menu includes a dietary key indicating which dishes may not be suitable for allergy sufferers or those just wishing to avoid certain foods such as dairy. If however you have any additional dietary requirements you are welcome to discuss them with the chef who will endeavour to accommodate them.

First Class

A truly first class dining experience. Food and wine were faultless and served by friendly attentive staff. It was a great dining experience. My only complaint is that it's only open on a Saturday and Sunday night please extend your opening days!

Well worthy of all the other five star ratings, excellent in every department! Make sure you book well in advance to avoid disappointment as Squid Ink really shouldn't be missed if you're visiting Looe.

Another fantastic meal at the best restaurant in Looe. The scallops with hogs pudding and pea puree was amazing. The staff are always brilliant. I can't wait for my next visit to the best in the west.

Simply the best meal my boyfriend and I have had in years! We received a warm welcome, were never hurried and received excellent, friendly service all evening. We chose a superb pinot grigio white wine. My gluten free warm bread was the best I've ever tasted. I personally didn't have the amuse bouche as it was too spicy for me... More

Amazing food great service and very clean. We have visited Squid Ink a couple of times, the food is always amazing. It was nice to find a place that understands the eating experience is as important as the food. The restaurant never seems busy although you need to book a table weeks in advance. The food is fresh and cooked... More

Absolutely perfect. Cannot praise the Squid Ink enough. Very friendly greeting. A menu which was incredibly difficult to choose from as all of the dishes sounded delicious. We've walked by Squid Ink many times over the years but never dined before. What a treat we've missed! A carefully thought out, cooked and presented menu at a reasonable price and a... More

This was a excellent dining experience that began with being met by friendly staff and then being seated in a cosy area where we wear able to review the menu, the days specials board and have a quiet drink and a chat with one of the owners. Our meal was excellent, the choice of food superb and the range and... More
