Welcome to Squid Ink restaurant situated in the historic fishing port of Looe in South East Cornwall. This intimate 28 cover restaurant is chef owned and opened in July 2008. Housed within a character filled period building the decor is a fusion of contemporary and antique offering an eclectic blend of old and new.Looe is a pretty seaside town and important Cornish port selling mainly day caught fish from small trawlers, netting boats and line fishing boats, where the highest EU quality level of E (excellent) is electronically `attached' to almost every box of fish. Day boats are considered one of the more sustainable ways to fish, and they also provide the freshest fish (it hasn't been sitting on a boat that has been at sea for a week or more). We are committed to offering outstanding service our menu includes a dietary key indicating which dishes may not be suitable for allergy sufferers or those just wishing to avoid certain foods such as dairy. If however you have any additional dietary requirements you are welcome to discuss them with the chef who will endeavour to accommodate them.

Welcoming, relaxed and a pleasure to visit. We had an excellent meal tonight - scallops with pea puree and local hogs pudding followed by paupiette of sole then lemon curd ice cream. The meal was served beautifully, cooked to perfection and tasted delicious - what more could you ask for. It is essential to book.

Perfect ambience, excellent food and service at remarkably good prices. With a pre-dinner drink, two courses (set price) and wine £40 per head. One of the few occasions that I come across a restaurant menu from which I could have selected almost everything. Nothing more to add other than book before you visit. This place puts most London restaurants to... More

Six of us were booked into the Squid Ink restaurant. On arrival our coats were taken and hung up, drinks offered and the menu shown whilst we sat on comfy seats. We were shown to our table at the booked time and enjoyed a three course meal. Each and every choice for each course was thoroughly enjoyed. Nothing but praise for... More

Tried to book this one for a while now, but often booked out or some other reason why we couldn't get there. Having eaten at Squid Ink for the first time a week ago, we can see why it is so popular. Very well organised, welcoming and the food bears comparison with any of the many restaurants we have frequented.... More

Once again Catherine, Warren and staff succeed in delivering lovely food, great surroundings and hospitality. Booked for Valentine's Day evening. On arrival a warm welcome was given and shown seats in the cosy bar area complimented by a solid affect gas fire. Given time to study menu and ask question over items on the menu and if you could mix... More

my wife and I frequent this restaurant every time we are in Looe. It's simply the best food around, service with a smile. The owner Warren always comes out to have a chat after and appreciates feedback.
