Description: Welcome to Squid Ink restaurant situated in the historic fishing port of Looe in South East Cornwall. This intimate 28 cover restaurant is chef owned and opened in July 2008. Housed within a character filled period building the decor is a fusion of contemporary and antique offering an eclectic blend of old and new.Looe is a pretty seaside town and important Cornish port selling mainly day caught fish from small trawlers, netting boats and line fishing boats, where the highest EU quality level of E (excellent) is electronically `attached' to almost every box of fish. Day boats are considered one of the more sustainable ways to fish, and they also provide the freshest fish (it hasn't been sitting on a boat that has been at sea for a week or more). We are committed to offering outstanding service our menu includes a dietary key indicating which dishes may not be suitable for allergy sufferers or those just wishing to avoid certain foods such as dairy. If however you have any additional dietary requirements you are welcome to discuss them with the chef who will endeavour to accommodate them.

Fabulous restaurant. Simply stylish. Lots of room around your table. Great atmosphere. Super service. And the food? Divine. Clever little amuse Bouche to tantalise your taste buds. The freshest fish and al dente crunchy vegetables. Desserts to swoon over and liqueurs to linger. I found my Utopia in Looe

If you look at our other reviews you'll see that our dining reviews are eclectic, ranging from self service buffet establishments through to 2 Michelin star restaurants so my wife and I were very happy to find a very highly rated restaurant on our doorstep during a visit to Looe in Cornwall. When dining alone we tend to swap plates... More

Very good dinner here, food cooked very well, staff excellent in their attention to us and everything delivered in a timely manner. The menu is a bit standard and occasionally unadventurous. Nevertheless a very enjoyable evening and worth the 5 star rating

NEVER disappoints. On booking I was disappointed to be told they were fully booked, but the next day Cathrine rang to say she had a cancellation, I was well pleased. Been here on numerous occasions, the blend of Lancashire and Yorkshire humour makes me feel at home being an exiled Mancunion. The food is awesome the hosts are ace. You... More

Perhaps it was that our expectations were to high. Firstly let me say the staff were very friendly and the service was very good. The decor is fresh and very tasteful. So why am I not gushing with praise, well it is not that there was anything wrong with the food just that the meal was not memorable, I was... More

Just got back from a fantastic meal tonight (4th July) and I must say the top rated reviews for this restaurant are not wrong. Myself and the other half wanted a special meal to end our holiday and I knew if we wanted to eat here we would have to book in advance which we did. The service was first... More

Great place, fantastic food and the chef (Warren) is talented but un-assuming and so down to earth - he makes time to talk to all the guests. Catherine is amazing too and the staff they have selected are a credit.

Our best meal by far in Looe, we ate our every night during our stay. This is a small and intimate restaurant so we booked a table just before we arrived in Looe. The restaurant offered a fixed price menu, £28.50 for 3 courses which was excellent value as the food is superb. Complimentary breads on arrival and a delicious... More
