What a little gem of a place, the staff greeted us well put us at our table, and settled us down nicely nothing was to much trouble, my wife was able to order off the menu with no trouble at all, all our meals were very well cooked and very tasty, won't be long before we go back again !!

We stayed in Flushing for a week and decided to try the Waterside for a meal. We had booked by phone a week earlier and booked a booth so that our two dogs would not be in anyone's way. A friendly unpretentious greeting followed by recommendations of what we may like best. I chose the sea bream which was magnificent.... More

We stumbled across the restaurant during an afternoon walk in the lovely village of Flushing, it has stunning views over the river and is very close to the river ferry, also worth a trip. We booked for the evening. On arrival we were warming greeted and as the restaurant was not busy we had a choice of eating inside or... More

We love the beautiful little village of Flushing and this restaurant has it all. An abundance of fresh local produce and a great quayside location. We had been looking forward to eating at the Waterside for a birthday occasion during our recent week's holiday in Flushing but the four of us felt rushed and patronised and sadly we won't recommend... As someone who loves to cook and is surrounded by such amazing food at home, I was utterly blown away by this meal. The thai style fish cakes were awesome followed by a sharing paella but the best thing was the lemon drizzle mouse pudding! The staff were on point and so knowledgable with their products. I am DEFINITELY making... More

Have been here previously and had great food, we were looking forward to our meal - but this visit was a disappointment in comparison. The 2 staff who were serving seemed stressed and slightly distracted. The food was just about ok, the steak was a bit flavourless. In all it was a bit lacklustre. The location remains stunning so I... More

We dined at The Waterside a couple of evenings during our cottage stay in Flushing. What can we say, they were friendly and efficient, both food and wine were excellent and the ambience was relaxed and chilled - just what you need after a busy day sightseeing around cornwall.

Got a booth by the window over the water ... Beautiful sunset. Pulled pork with a kick in soft tortilla, and tiger prawns both very tasty. Finger bowl for cleaning would have been appreciated. Fish curry and .... Gazy pie and handcut chips. Not massive portions, leaving enough room to squeeze in a bit of dessert. All interestingly presented, and... More

Converted boathouse or similar on the quayside at Flushing. Beamed interior, a mix of open tables and banquette-like seating, teeny porthole-like windows and a woodburning stove all add up to give a cosy and informal atmosphere. Our party had mussels, a fab crab bisque with the largest crab cake I've ever seen, vanilla slices and local beers and ciders. The... More
