From the other reviews I can only assume you were having an off night! We were warned of a 45 minute wait for food as the restaurant was busy, it took an hour and a quarter. I understand mine was the last chicken salad available that night, I can see why, it was seriously short on chicken, my husbands fish... More

My sincere apologies for disappointing you. An absurdly busy evening from the start and typically the day before we launched our new summer menu so no excuses but we are very much now geared up for high season,do please visit again. More

Staff were really friendly and chef was happy to accommodate a request that wasn't on the menu. I had the steak, chips and peppercorn sauce. At £15 for a steak my expectations weren't that high, but i was amazed at the size and quality - it surpassed many that I've paid over £20 for. The burgers were also fabulous and... More

Tripped up on this place for a brew, watching a world cup match (USA vs. Portugal) and was pleasantly surprised by owner Nick and house friends. I highly recommend stopping in.

Was looking for a place to watch USA World Cup match and owner invited us to stay and watch with him. Great group of locals with lots of worldly knowledge. This is a place to go and make friends and appreciate history. Did not get to eat but will next time I return.

Always a treat to host our American cousins,Falmouth as you learnt being historically so inexorably linked, obviously we can only apologise for the Norfolk dwellers who burnt your relative at the stake in 1454,but what a great pub story!! More

This review was prompted by not one, but two meals I had recently at this pub. The Sunday roast was spot on - generous portion, loads of fresh veg, tasty lamb and good gravy. The rich cauliflower cheese another highlight. A solid 8/10. But what I really want to mention was the John Dory - Oh. My. Lordy! I'm almost... More

Having read all the very excellent reviews we decided that this pub would be a good place to meet friends for lunch. The view from the pub is wonderful as it overlooks Falmouth harbour and one can the boats pottering about in the sea. I think visiting at lunch time in the week was the mistake, although it was half... More

Hi, so sorry you were disappointed,it is very frustrating for a fresh food business like ourselves that none of our suppliers have the foresight to work on a bank hol,so we are rather held to ransom until they deliver -,which on that Tues was much later due to half-term traffic so consequently we all suffer but to maintain our high... a quick walk from the hotel and a fun pub with decent food for the money. The walk is a small hill but you go down coming back.

Nightmare situation. I have enjoyed the Cup Final with a couple of drinks and then respected guests appear at short notice at 6pm on a Saturday night. I cant drive, we want to eat out....and we want to impress them - where on earth are you going to get a table for 4 in Falmouth at no notice ? I... More

Hi,thank you so much for the high praise,as far as the food goes you can not beat seasonal Cornish produce, the new season lamb is exceptional& the John Dory fish is at its peak. Quite a crazy day, with the FA Cup,lots of diners and the music,of course typically the child was with the band!!! Our normal rules are 8.30,our apologies, although from... More

I booked a table for my brothers birthday meal. We discovered that the reviews on here about the Sunday roast were 100 percent correct! Very good indeed. The only reason I marked a 4 star is because the staff gave our table to another party when it was booked for us resulting in a 30 min wait for the table.... More
