Decided to call in for a Sunday roast but what a mistake.Ordered a beef and a pork and when it arrived it looked like a disaster on a plate. The veg had obviously been cooked for 12.00 and by later in the day was just limp slop that had been reheated. The meat was just average and who serves roast beef without... Hi, Lets deal with this nice and slowly, during the summer months we serve an alternative lighter version of the traditional Sunday Roast, slow cook meat items,as in beef briskett, pork belly, seasonal veggies for example cauliflower, broccoli and fennel gratin, roasted veg mix, these are a very modern take, to meet demand as can be seen on these very pages, where it has been hugely popular. We... More

We had written off this pub some years ago as a noisy scruffy student dive. We only live about 500 yards away but had not been in for some years. It was great actually and had a nice friendly buzz with good attentive staff, good beers and wine. The big disappointment was the starter....why did they serve up terrible processed... More

The Boathouse is a proper pub with friendly staff eager to please and good food with a fine selection of real ale. Some of the space looks out over the sweep of Falmouth harbour, so be sure to get a seat there. Decor is eclectic and chosen by the landlord Nick, a larger than life figure. Well worth a visit

We visited The Boathouse on a Saturday evening and had a wonderful meal. The service was excellent, really friendly bar/waiting on staff, great selection of real ales for my discerning husband and lovely food. The highlight was by far the Garlic Prawn starter. I could've eaten it twice over - so tasty! Views are superb too!

Having enjoyed a very good meal here before - and hoping for a Sunday roast - we popped in here, as the nearest hostelry to where we were staying, after the start of the Tall Ships Race. There was no Sunday roast (they had anticipated been too busy to cook one!) and a (fairly-dreadful sounding) band was just tuning up,... More

All a bit unnecessary, during the summer months Falmouth is a very busy destination, during a Tall Ships event the town receives an extra 250,000 visitors in 3 days,so obviously we all get prepared for the extra business, and find ourselves doing upwards of 500 meals in 3 days, staff doing long days etc,our famous Sunday Roast takes many hours of preparation so the... My girlfriend and I went for dinner at the boathouse last night for the first time, the first thing you notice is the great view over the harbour, and the whole place has a really nive atmosphere. All the staff were very friendly and easy to talk to. I went on to have the pork tenderloin and my girlfriend had... More

We have walked past this pub so many times but got told by a local to visit and so we did. Very small menu and so had my doubts but our meals were absolutely gorgeous, the views to die for and the service was terrific. The only place I have found so far where the staff can actually pour a... More

Having recently moved to Falmouth, we needed to find a new local. After extensive research (!) we have agreed the best one is only a few meters from our front door. The nicest bar tender by far (Tamar). Good choice of ales and wine. We've eaten here quite a few times now. Portions are generous and locally sourced. Try it... More

How I wish this was my local in Hampshire! The view is awesome, so much so a photo of the view is my iPhone background. Nick has it spot on as the landlord. Lovely atmosphere, great music and very nice range of beers, including Skinners and very local brews. The food is amazing and all of the fish dishes we... More

What a great find this pub was on our recent holiday in Falmouth. It is well worth the walk up the hill away from the town centre to experience the great view and terrific service from landlord Nick and his team. We ate here twice during our stay and on both occasions the meal was excellent. Our 5 & 2... More
