dined here on a sunday evening with my daughter, had the sharing platter of crab, oysters, scallops, mussels, squid rings & some chips. Really nice & very good value, shared a bottle of house plonk, which again was priced reasonably. Small restaurant, freindly efficient service. Very much recomend it.

Busy restaurant in the reclaimed land area. Restaurant is recommended highly but it gets very busy and is a little cramped. We had the crab as a main course but needed more as we were both left hungry. Food quality was very good

This was our second visit to The Shack, last week. We had a beautifully cooked meal. We especially enjoyed the Hake, and the Thai mussels. We went along one day for a crab sandwich which was delicious. We will definitely return. Thank you for your excellent and friendly service as well.

We ate some good fish, but it was not outstanding. One of our fishes were undercooked. The restaurant in itself was nice and rustic. Sorry for a bad rewiew.

We love the rustic informality of lunch at The Shack. We've eaten here a few times and it is great to wander in, see what they have on offer, and then order from the blackboard. After fish soup of the day we selected a large lobster, asked if they could split it between two and serve it with salad and... More

For a restaurant selling fresh local seafood it was disappointing to be served old frozen whitebait as a starter. The megrim sole main saved the evening

Thank you for your comments and I am glad you enjoyed your main meal. Firstly I’d just like to reassure you that the whitebait we use is not old! We use a high quality frozen product which was a decision that we came to with the help of some of our regular customers. We started off by using a fresh... More

Lots of great reviews in for The Shack, but I went there with my son yesterday evening and was underwhelmed. Soup and Mussels to start (mussels nice, but Soup pretty unremarkable) Medium crab and more mussels for main course. Mussels were nice and plentiful, and the crab was as crab is - tasty, but never enough. Staff were friendly but... More

Had a lovely informal lunch here today. Two Fowey oysters were the best I've ever had and that compares to many years of oysters in France among many other references. For main was a small crab served whole with the head pre-prepared but leaving the claws to be broken. A fun experience and the quality was excellent. A slice of... More
