Local and Lovely

Took my family here for a lunch time meal. Everything was 1st Class, the friendly service, fab choice of food, and they even made up a simple meal for my little Granddaughter. Couldn't fault the food and I love the atmosphere here, a little local gem.

Been here several times always first class food, locally produced. Plenty of variety with friendly service. Need a sat nav or a local to get there but well worth the trip

I visited this restaurant together with eight friends for a mid-morning refreshment break. We were greeted by Rhianna who made us most welcome and moved chairs and tables so that we could all sit together. We were all soon enjoying teas and coffees, together with hot toasted tea cakes with butter, in very pleasant surroundings and we are all looking... More

Visited here on the recommendation of my father in law who lives in the local village. As we arrived, a beautiful looking cream tea was being served to a couple on an adjacent table. We looked at the menu, and my wife is a more savoury fan than sweet fan. However, we were both suitably catered for with a Savoury... More

Excellent food and service. Thank you for making us feel so great. We visited for dinner and lunch on Sunday and everything we ate was exceptional. The service was top class and even the weather looked after us.

Found The Waymaker by total chance while on a short break with me Dad. 5* Food and Hospitality. Rhiannon and Kevin are amazing hosts and serve brilliant food at sensible prices.

The Waymarker was a halfway point on our walk and we ordered very unusual teas. A rhubarb tea and a manukau tea. Both very delicious and refreshing, but what really completed it were our gluten free delights - a maple and butternut squash scone, warmed with a generous helping of fresh clotted cream and a thick locally made strawberry jam... We found The Waymarker as a venue for cream teas - its not just a cream tea, its a culinary experience with service and presentation to match! The butternut squash and maple syrup (gluten free!) scone was an unexpected hit. We were so impressed by the food and incredibly friendly atmosphere, we went back for dinner which didn't disappoint.
