I promised to eat here when Tina first opened for business years ago - my loss! Such a simple concept expertly delivered - premium shellfish cooked to perfection served with skinny fries, salad and the most wonderful homemade bread; not a vegetable in sight! I started with scallops, so delicious I found myself licking the shells. Followed, on recommendation, by... More

If you like shellfish this is a must place. The staff are excellent, The food outstanding. No wine list just Red and White wine. But they are excellent choices . Tina runs this small venue and makes you feel as though you have known her all your life. Don't change a thing Tina we will keep coming back.

What a little gem !! A great experience - wonderfully fresh seafood, terrific staff and an ambiance that has to be experienced to be believed! We visited whilst on holiday last week (having booked three weeks previously) and didn't quite know what to expect - but what a treat was in store for us when we arrived ! The atmosphere... More

When you come here its not just about the food but also the marvellous friendly ambience .It is to be found at the bottom of a very small ginnel called Upton slip. Don't be put off by this because this is a little treasure. We were really well looked after by all the staff but Tina the owner deserves a... More

The best seafood meal I have had in such a long time. It is fantastic local food then isn't over complicated or fussy. It is the perfect example of having the best ingredients without a huge price tag or being pretentious. We loved it and can't wait to go back again.

Fantastic food - fresh off the boat that morning. The prawns and Scallops are to die for and the bread is wonderfully fresh. Staff, despite being Extremely busy every time I have been, makes time to stop and talk to you and have a wonderful manner.Brilliant word-of-mouth restaurant - a must for locals. The place is sooo wonderfully decorated too!!!

We went during half term week on a Wednesday while holidaying in the area the rest of the town seemed quiet however the Wheel House was packed out with locals. Very charming owner and attentive, quick, polite staff. Delicious, beautifully cooked shellfish. Small but well chosen wine list. Tables tightly packed but convivial. A very special night; highly recommended.

We went to Cornwall, only with the intention of visiting The Wheelhouse again! It was as good as we remembered. Divine scallops, great crab and succulent prawns. Thank you for a great night again. The service and food is exceptional. We are planning another visit soon!

Second time we have eaten here and it didn't disappoint. Excellent seafood and marvellous service. The restaurant is so popular we had only available table at 6. We started with the sailor mussels and king prawns in lemon and butter. The crab cooked in garlic butter was our main and washed down the a very nice bottle of chilled Sauvignon.... More
