Succulent fish, prepared in a creative mouth watering way. There is essentially no menu, the waitstaff simply tells you what fish came in today and the options for preparation. You can't go wrong, scalloped, crab, mussels,,hake. all were heaven. My only regret, not going twice during the week the five of us were in Falmouth.

Early sitting meant pick of the blackboard, a joy to see items being ticked off as the evening progresses. Focus here being on the seafood, items on the menu have been cherry picked from the best local suppliers, tight run ship with all staff knowledgable about fish on the menu, we shared what we ordered and enjoyed every morsel of... We expected good things from the Wheelhouse and it didn't disappoint. Very personal service lovely atmosphere. The menu is limited to shellfish and they only accept cash or cheque but when booking they warn of this so it is not a surprise. Absolutely lovely fresh food and fantastic value. We went to a number of restaurants over our holiday in... More

Scallops in a lemon sauce are to die for. Mussels, crab, lobster, prawns all delicious and the front of house staff are the most helpful and friendly we have come across. But beware! You'll need to book weeks in advance and it is a cash/cheques only place. We can't wait to return.

We didn't know what to expect, we'd read the reviews & we'd been lucky enough to get a table at fairly short notice. What a pleasant surprise we were in for! The restaurant is small, really cosy & I would liken it to having dinner at a good friends house. It's wonderfully quirky, all mismatched tables chairs and cushions etc,... More

A bold title, and perhaps anyone reading it might think "he can't have been to many then". However, having reached 59 years old, and spent the last twenty traveling extensively on business and holiday throughout Europe, Africa and North America I can claim some experience. So what is so good about The Wheel House. Others have described it as quirky,... More

Simply the best thing about Falmouth, if not Cornwall, if not Britain. No restaurant compares to this place of utter brilliance.

I've not been lucky enough to get back to this whacky restaurant with its eccentric and engaging staff and decor - quite apart from the delicious food- since 2012 until now. It hasn't lost its edge. We shared mussels, prawns and scallops (all cooked to perfection and served in cataplana) and enjoyed every single mouthful!

Busy night with tall ships in town and a packed restaurant but the food and service were excellent. Can really recommend the Wheel House and will come back to Falmouth just to eat here again.

My new favourite restaurant in Cornwall. Staff are warm and friendly and you couldn't ask for better service. Food is to die for, very simply but beautifully cooked shellfish. Cannot recommend this place high enough.
