I hadn't read any reviews before choosing this restaurant and thought the menu looked full of promise. We complained that the moules were very gritty. They tasted like a cup of cream had been poured over them not cooked with the wine, cream etc and no seasoning. I ordered my favourite duck confit and dauphinois potatoes- no longer my favourites!... There's a lot of stiff competition in Falmouth, and even more if you venture out into the rest of Cornwall. This is why I am perhaps a bit critical of Samphire, We had dinner there and it was really quite average. Starters were ok, mains were..ok, wine (Cornish) was lovely. My fish was served with Samphire, which lacked all the... More

Enjoyable night out with friends at samphire. They offer a good choice of food which is cooked freshly to order. Friendly service from all staff. Only problem was that the wine they had on special was not chilled, but did put in a bucket of ice for us. We have visited here a few times before and the standard has always... More

This small bistro is in an area filled with good restaurants, but it is hard to beat. It is owned and run by a young couple who take great pride in their restaurant. The food is excellent and the service personal and efficient. We had a reasonably priced lunch which was excellent value for money. The French onion soup was... More

Excellent French onion soup and an average fish pie. Moules appeared to have been cooked earlier and just had sauce poured over them, not cooked in it. The waitress seemed a little fierce at first but mellowed. Set menu good value.

This is somewhere I wouldn't normally choose to eat, but I was pleasantly surprised and glad I did. The small menu is carefully chosen to make the best of the local produce particularly the fresh sea food in the falmouth area. All of my course we're well cooked and very tasty, prices are very reasonable for a very over populated... More
