My partner and I visited on a Saturday night when the restaurant was busy. Although although small, the restaurant did seem very understaffed with one waitress working behind the bar who seemed relatively new and another who looked to more experienced (possibly the manager) who frankly just came across as quite rude and brash. Once seated, we had to wait... More

I'm sorry that you feel it was poor service! and that myself was rude and brash im very sorry that it came across this way was not intended in at all. it was 8.45 on a busy Saturday night you didn't have a booking and there was only a table available as someone had just left. This restaurant is in a great location and has a nice bistro ambiance. The food is straightforward if a little unexciting. Unfortunately the waitress didn't seem to be well trained. She didn't tell us about the specials which we only discovered after we'd ordered, and couldn't answer any of our questions about the food.

Only one, undertrained member of staff in a busy restaurant, who know little about the menu or winelist. No shellfish, which took out half the fish menu. Chateaubriand poorly cooked and presented. Only creditable item was the tarte tatin for dessert. The whole atmosphere was one of laziness.

We have eaten in Samphire several times before its re-brand and it was one of my favourite restaurants, however, unfortunately we had a disappointing meal. They appeared to be very busy and slightly understaffed which I think caused a bit of a problem. The service was slow, it took almost an hour for the starter to come out and we... More

Chance selection from a row of restaurants. Excellent, tastier than usual small steak Onglet dinner, blue cheese sauce, mash and salad. Superb. Could have made a better choice of wine Australian Wooloomooloo shiraze, but ok. Good atmosphere. In summer, it is open to overlooking the Harbour.

We went to this restaurant as 'walk in's' I a Saturday evening at the beginning of December. We were greeted by the two staff on shift, seated and drinks delivered swiftly. The ambiance in the restaurant is cool and laid back, which comfy chairs abs chunky tables. The menu offered various foods and also a 5 course taster menu for... More
