We asked at our hotel what was the best French Restaurant in Chester, they did not let us down. The menu is what you'd expect in a french restaurant with an extensive wine list reasonably priced, check the early bird times good value. Service was friendly and accommodating.

as a group of 8 we ate here on Friday evening, nothing was too much trouble, all the food was piping hot and very good, the house wine was great, and when we decided we fancied expresso martinis just before closing, the waiter just smiled and went off and made them, we really enjoyed the whole evening and all commented... Had a great sunday dinner yesterday! For a starter i had sardines which where perfectly cooked with a lovely watermelon, my partner had a cauliflower soup! We both had the roast belly pork as main. The staff were very helpful and the price was very good! We both really enjoyed it!

We went to celebrate a 30th birthday tonight, a party of 14, not good at all. Four of us sent our meals back because they were cold, overall very poor food. The service was good from the people waiting on but no follow up from the management when we sent our food back. In all honesty had it just been... More

We came for a family birthday. Starters were extremely bland. Two of the diners in our party received cold mains, we also had cold vegetables, which was ironic as we were constantly advised by the waiter that the plates and pans were really hot, it was just the items on the plate and pans that were not. Even though we... More

This wasn't our first meal at Chez Jules but on this evening's experience it could well be the last. The problem was the quality of the food provided and the uncomfortable cramped manner you are squeezed into the place. I suppose the latter point may not be an issue for many but if you prefer a little space around you... More

We turned up on a Tuesday night in February without a reservation and the restaurant was packed! They found us a nice table upstairs and we had a really nice meal - including a bottle of wine per person (and you can take away what's you do not drink) - at a very reasonable price. Excellent French menu with sensible... More

My wife and I visited on a Tuesday evening after finding our favourite restaurant across the road was closed. The restaurant was busy but the staff wre able to find us a table near the door. The noise level was noticeably louder than a lot of restaurants, mostly due the the venues apparant popularity with groups of friends all having... More

It's rare to go to a restaurant where they nail all 3 courses, but Chez Jules did just that. The dauphinois potatoes were particularly awesome, but everything was delicious. We had the moules marinieres, the mackerel, and then the pork roulade and the sea bass. The chocolate and pistachio terrine for pudding was on the money. The service struck the... More
