There are so many good places to eat in chester these days; we chose the Albion as we'd not eaten here for months. The place was busy. Thankfully the food was as good as ever. Beef kofta spicy and moreish. Three real ales available. Will visit more often.

Great beer, wonderful food and friendly ladies serving it. If you love corned beef hash with pickled red cabbage then you'll love the Albion. My all time favourite pub, anywhere and we've been going for about 30 years. It's a great atmosphere, just like it's emerged from 1918. Foreign clients that I take there love it too.

In a city full of pubs this was a real find! The Albion Inn is crammed with fascinating artefacts from the era of WW1. Lovely cosy ambience, friendly staff and an interesting reasonably priced menu. This is well worth stepping down from the walls!

Worth a quick look to take in the atmosphere of a WW1 themed pub. Did not eat so can not comment. Visitor from Australia thought it was great

Nice pub as it had world war décor which looked good. But we ordered an ale and it tasted like earwax and sour honey. We dont know if it was supposed to taste like that. The atmosphere was not great.

We went to The Albion because it was listed as a real ale pub and were going to have just one pint here and then move on to another. However, the WW1 theme and the friendly welcome encouraged us to stay not only for another pint but also to have our lunch here. The menu is fairly limited but quirky... More

It starting raining at lunch time and we came upon this traditional, no unnecessary frills pub. Service was excellent, as well as the pints. Had a sandwich, served quickly and just right. Seemed very homey and familiar. All around good feeling, food and the guinness.

If you want a nicely old-fashioned, cosy little pub in the centre of Chester, get yourself to the Albion. Privately run, so it's not governed by a faceless, soulless brewery or pub management company. The Albion is like stepping back in time, with World War mementoes and old posters adorning the walls of the 3 cosy rooms. I've been popping... More

I revisited this pub last week after an absence of a few years. Nothing much has changed; still served by friendly and helpful staff, and the meals were as good as ever.

Nice little pub/hotel/restaurant, it looks like the National Fronts headquarters from the outside. Go in and you will be in WW1 surroundings. Very unusual and very interesting. Food is proper old English mainly but also serve European food. Three cosy bars with coal fires in the winter. Staff very friendly. Pub opens old pub times so no all day hours.... More
