Went in for a meal with the grandkids, staff very attentive, food was superb, especially the open prawn & advocado sandwich. Will be back again soon

Called in for lunch while waiting for a solicitors appointment. The prawn smoked salmon and avocado sandwich was fantastic. Great service would definitely go back

What a dissapointment, New managers again, not a clue on how to run a county pub - and once again removed original staff for new staff. Shame. Food is not the same. Takes a while to come and some food very greasy - think we will go elsewhere from now on. If your after a good time, avoid this pub.

After visiting the sportsmans arms several times I would say now it's at its all time low, I've never seen a pub that has gone this down hill so quickly. The food takes the longest it ever has to reach the table and when it does it wasn't the greatest, what ever happened to good comforting pub grub? The place... More

What a great treat we had, called without making a booking, we were seated and shown the menu, our waitress suggested the Sunday lunch, we took her advice and what a treat we had, come on people, give this place a try, the chef is very well trained and bringing really good food to the area, support him, he deserves... Staying nearby we arrived on Mothering Sunday and were made to feel welcome as soon as we entered. A fabulous Sunday lunch and desert and luckily as I was not driving I was able to enjoy a good wine. We were not rushed, the chef came to our table to check all was well. We then sat by a roaring... More

Had a family meal today at the Sportsman. Roast beef was so tender and nice to see homemade Yorkshire puds. Three had the salmon parcels which were delicious. The staff were lovely and friendly and the chefs Jason and Steve popped out for a chat which was a lovely touch.

I took my girlfriend here for valentines meal. Service was good as soon as we entered. The food was really nice and well presented. She said that the salmon was the best she had ever had. Had a drink by the big log fire after the meal. I earned a few bonus points that evening:)
