Booked for my partners birthday as we have enjoyed this restaurant several times. We weren't let down, very friendly effortless service. Excellent food. Ham hock was delicious and corn fed chicken with ratatouille was superb. Every time we have been we have never been disappointed. Please don't change, keep doing what you do.

Sunday dinner for four, with a vegetarian in our party too. Food was bistro style, I had pork and crackling, others had beef and a salad. Creamy onion soup was delicious, as was the taste of chickpea, beetroot and chorizo that I stole! Vegetables and sauces were delicious too. Very good value. Service was excellent too. I would recommend.

My friend and I were in Chester for a weekend and were attracted to eat here as it was serving a Christmas dinner. Unfortunately the turkey was the sliced processed breast variety and the stuffing cold and tasteless. The veg were edible but we were so disappointed we didn't bother ordering dessert but skipped off to Waitrose and bought ourselves... More

Gorgeous food every time, good wine and I've always found the staff very friendly and efficient. Lovely location and I can take my dog in the bar. Fantastic 😀

Was in the area house hunting, so decided to call in for coffee & cake. Friendly staff took our order within a few minutes. Tea's & Coffee's arrived quickly, followed by the cakes - victoria sponge & carrot cake. Immediately noticed on the carrit cake that the cream filling/topping was melting, and that the cake was warm....ahh the good old... More

A pleasing start to the new year visiting artichoke. The menu never fails to please, and the portion sizes are substantial. I did enjoy the variety of gins available (3 pages of the drinks menu). Meal was amazing, pheasant breast and tempura haggis. Dessert menu would benefit from some expansion, but on most of us were too full to consider... More

Highly recommended friendly restaurant in converted warehouse by the canal. Great vegetarian (& non-vegetarian) Sunday roast (seems to vary but beetroot/ Lancaster cheese strudel on week we attended). Briefly thought the veg looked slightly meagre UNTIL huge separate sharing plate arrived... Veg were actually seasonal too. Amazing cakes on counter. Solid range of local real ales. In addition to thoughtful wine... More

My favorite restaurant in Chester. Consistently good food, good service and great selection of beers. Pizza's better elsewhere but the rest of the menu is great. Nice location and busy feel without being rammed.

Chose to eat at Artichoke after reading the good reviews and we were not disappointed. By chance went on the night when the pizzas were 2for1. There was a good variety to choose from with different toppings to the usual fare. Pizzas were a good size and were value for money without the offer. The staff were friendly and it... More
