Lovely...but disappointing

I'm gutted to be writing this review, I was expecting big things after reading all the reviews about this place. I went with a friend for a special occasion but ended up feeling a bit let down. I went for the homemade soup of the day with freshly baked bread for starters. Beautiful. Lovely presentation as well, which is key for me! I then opted for... More

Mothering Sunday ... Busy busy busy... Service amazing, warm atmosphere and excellent food...as usual. No better place for Sunday lunch in the North West.. Visitors to Chestercshould look for the canal quarter to sample this well prepared and presented food... An absolute pleasure from starter thru to the pudding...

Visiting Chester for the first time and walking along the canal thought the Artichoke menu looked interesting. Enquired about a reservation and got the last table for that evening. On our return, warmly welcomed by name, service was excellent (attentive, but not intrusive), menu was indeed interesting and the food was excellent. We were seated in the bar area which... More

There was a group of us that went on a Saturday night, the restaurant was busy and had a great atmosphere, i had a steak and it was very delicious & one of the nicest steaks i have had in a long time. I will definitely be back for another one soon.
