Friendly staff; very helpful and welcoming. The ale was good, the food was reasonably priced and of good quality. Lovely location as it is right by the canal, providing beautiful scenery in both summer and winter.

We had a lovely evening meal at the Cheshire Cat. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was friendly and relaxing. The staff were very good and it was a very pleasant night with drinks in the bar after!

Had a great visit with my wife and kids, food was perfect, great service and fantastic atmosphere! I believe our waiter was called Andy, had a great sense of humour and nothing was too much bother for him! would love to return one day and definitely will if we pass again, loved it!

If you want to find The Cheshire Cat don't rely on sat-nav, which directs you to completely the wrong area - at least 2 miles away. The staff are clearly aware and commented that it "happens to lots of people". The setting falls short of lovely, but is very nice, being adjacent to the canal affording a very pleasant walk... More

We ate here on a Wednesday afternoon at approx 3pm so it was extremely quiet, which was to our benefit. The waiter was very pleasant and once ordered the meals came quickly, the starters were delicious, tear and share garlic and cheese bread and garlic mushrooms. For main I would definitely recommend the rib of beef pie, absolutely gorgeous, the... More

We visited with a walking group of about 20 at Saturday lunchtime. The pub was fairly busy but we had forewarned them and they set aside a room for us. We ordered at the bar and pre-paid individually. They coped very well with 20 people descending on them and ordering all at once and the food was brought to our... More

Decided to stop here to eat and sit in the garden. The menu was a smaller one for a Sunday, but that was fine. Once our meals arrived, we had a long wait, which if the food is good you don't mind waiting. The food was awful. My daughters roast beef cold and the Yorkshire pud. (Looked like aunt Bessie's)... This restaurant is conveniently situated in between the A41 Whitchurch Road and the Shropshire Union Canal so it is perfect place to stop to fuel up. Having said that, the majority of diners appeared to be locals, always a good indication of consistent quality. We were walking the canal towpath on Bank Holiday Monday so were wet and tired as...
