Had a couple of tiny problems at breakfast and the staff were so lovely about it -- really committed to providing a good service.

3 adults and 4 children arrived at 6pm. Didn't get away till turned 8.30pm. Meal was terrible when it eventually arrived. Children's menu took ages. Adults only had one course and they forgot one of them. Children had to wait 25 minutes for dessert which was hard and cold and they were told off for playing by some grumpy man... More

We tried so hard to eat in this restaurant this afternoon but were extremely disappointed and upset by our experience. We decided to have a celebratory meal after spending the day at cricket in tattenhall with our 2 children and grandma. We arrived just before 5pm were greeted and shown to our table. We ordered 2 children's meals with starters... More

Having visited before I had previously enjoyed good quality pub grub. Earlier this week we found that it was now all waitress service instead of ordering at the bar as previously. We were in a bit of a rush so had sat ourselves down before realising our mistake. The pate was disappointing and the bread portion was miserly. The pork... More

We visited on Saturday, 5th July - four adults - best to book here as there was a continuous line of customers coming and going while we were there. This is a busy pub and it is easy to understand why. Although busy, the serving staff were all very attentive, cheerful and helpful. The food is certainly high end 'pub... More

A Saturday evening family meal ( 5.30pm and it wasn't busy) with our two sons . The waiter was lovely, helpful and friendly . We like the canalside location and the extensive outdoor seating area - perfect for a warm, sunny, summer's evening . Two of us ordered ' black and blue ribeye steak ' at £17.99 a head .... More

Slow service. Foods for each guest at the same table coming minutes apart. Staff forgetting to bring drinks. Bottle of wine took so long to come it had to be cancelled and swapped for individual glasses however they still TRIED to charge for the bottle and the glasses. Well done stake was charcoal at the edges but all other foods... More

Arrived for the first time unannounced to a very full car park figuring we'd not get a table however, it's a specious place and as such we found a table with ease. It was pretty busy for a Friday afternoon, yet with the advise that we were heading to the airport we were looked after extremely well. The waitress was... More
