Lovely

Went today for lunch with my partner, friendly welcome and quick service, the food was lovely although my steak was very fatty... plenty of choice and a huge selection of fresh sauces brought to the table my partner had a pie and it was very Impressive.. All freshly cooked. Lovely outside areas to... read more

Visited as we are very local and have been here many times. This was not an enjoyable experience. It was a lovely sunny day and busy. It was immediately obvious that there are not enough staff, they are over run but still were pleasant. Food arrived after 35 mins and basically was plonked down in front of us, no offer of... More

Called in at 7.15pm with two kids, got a table, gentleman who greeted us was very pleasant. Food was alright, service was terrible, we left at 9.30! 2 and 1/4 hours is terrible! We had to ask where the food was, dessert was brought out for the Kids, ours was forgotten and we had to ask for ours again! Wouldn't... More

We called into the Cheshire Cat for supper, we hadn't booked a a table, but were quickly accommodated. It was a lovely sunny evening and we sat outside. We ordered 3 x fish and chips and a burger and chips with drinks, 2 of which were alcoholic. The food came fairly quickly and was delicious and plentyful. The staff were... More

The standard of food that was served to us was well below what it should have been. The 3 meat carvery consisted of 3 small thinly cut slices which was not very warm. I consider £11.50 for this is grossly overpriced. Plus service was very slow having to wait over an hour for food despite the place being half empty.... More

I have to say that living near to the Cheshire Cat is great for us and we are regulars, but only because of the ambience of the venue, the great staff and the range and quality of food on offer. The outside seating area created last year is coming into its own now and is very well laid out and... More

Visited Good Friday. 2 adults. Was seated near the kitchen doors so could hear the chef/cooks going about their duties. Few broken pots along the way! stopped the conversation a few times as the kitchen doors flew open with the waiters coming out with their orders but didn't put us off our food. Food was good, vegetable soup for starters,... More

A disinterested waiter / manager(?) told me the roast potatoes were vegetarian when the menu says they are duck fat.disinterested and patronising attitude. Kind of inexcusable? Used to love this place but it's just average now. Low score for the lazy and disrespectful service to people who have various food preferences, maybe by one member of staff , but that... More

We travelled to meet family who were on a canal holiday and had moored next to The Cheshire Cat. Were pleasantly surprised as it was significantly better than our local Vintage Inn. Great staff (Corrie) made a huge difference. She was very helpful with menu choices and neither overly-present nor missing when service was needed. All 8 of us found... More

Went on Saturday for late lunch nice and clean traditional vintage farm house. Great sevice and food came out pretty quick. Reasonable priced nice surroundings and gardens on the banks of the chester canal will definitely call again.
