Food was pretty good, we had booked to go to The Ship in Handbridge but they had a gas problem so we were sent to the Greyhound. Waitresses were very attentive and helpful, we had pre ordered food but mis-communication between the pubs meant we didn't have it, so we had to order again. For 8 people and just over... More

Called in for the first time in a couple of years for Sunday lunch. Just don't do it.... Surrounded by intimidating and loutish behaving middle age men. Might has well have ate of a tray sitting in the middle of them while they enjoyed swearing st each other. Food was at the most average. Service was similar. Price too high.... More

The food her is just OK. The two of us had the chicken pie with mashed potato and green beans. The chicken was overpowered by the wholegrain mustard, as there was too much in the pie. It was ok. We both then had a mixed fruit crumble. This was of poor quality. There was hardly any crumble to be found!... More

Visited in the mid-week. Pub was very quiet with just one other couple in. I guess they are busy evening and weekends. They had a good selection of real ales and lunchtime specials on offer. 2 for a tenner was especially appealing. We both had gammon, egg and chips which was 'ok' The gammon wasn't the most generous in size... More

We ate one afternoon in The Greyhound and had an ok meal (this is before the menus been changed) the food was ok but nothing to write home about. We understand that there has been a new menu which is working very well. The main issue was the overpowering smell of the gents toilet from our table. We had a... More

Our pre-booked group of eight ate a good roast dinner here in this village pub one Sunday in August. It was well-cooked and promptly served, the vegetables were fresh and the gravy distinctive. The cooks were clearly trying hard. Starters were good as were the desserts.(although not sure about the ubiquitous food-processed slaw). Service, led by a charming young woman,... More

Group of 8 visited Saturday evening for a second sample of the new menu and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious! I can recommend the Ox cheek which I had on our first visit or the Salmon which I had last night. The home made tomato and basil soup was first class. Service was excellent. Hope locals and... More

Went on Sunday for lunch , had mushroom starter which tasted lovely. Slightly strange that it was accompanied by a ramikin of coleslaw and a very sorry looking handful of half dead salad leaves. The Sunday lunch took 45 mins to appear which was a surprise as we were sitting on our own in the food part of the pub... More

I just been to try out the new menu it was amazing I couldn't choose from the dishes. Loved the fact there was a daytime menu night time menu and Sunday menu great variety. The atmosphere was amazing in a modern yet home feel pub/restaurant. Food was exceptional standards all home cooked hot fresh and tasty and you must have... More
