Lovely Sunday lunch

Not been in ages as we lost faith in our local pub. We couldn't be bothered cooking so thought we would give the pub a try. We had mushrooms and mushroom soup to start which was very nice, the soup seemed home made and the starters came hot and fresh. We had Sunday roast, the meat was lovely... read more

We were enjoying a really pleasant evening in the pub, great beer by the way, watching the TV when another guest, sat at the bar just turned around and switched the sound off! No consultation, no consideration for the 5 guests watching We all thought it was a management decision. It wasn't it was the height of ignorance he wasn't... More

Hi We are really sorry your evening was spoilt by another single person, and thank you for the comment on our beer. Can you please provide more details, so as we can try to prevent it happening again, i.e. evening, time, was football on? member of staff that was on at that time...? If you would prefer, you can email... More

Have been twice in the last month and on both times the food as great. Very large portions and excellent quality. You get food that costs an average amount but the food you get is well above average. Not somewhere to go to if you want quick service but excellent food takes a while to cook.

After a long day at Chester Races trying to avoid the drunken men (and women), it was great to get back to our favourite pub restaurant. We had to wait for a table for about an hour due to it being so busy, but again well worth it. Two of us had the haddock with polenta, one had the chicken... More

Took over an hour for simple chicken burger main courses. Supposed to be on brioche but finally arrived on a cheap bap. When we complained the answer was yes we run out should have told you that when you ordered! The one and only staff member kept leaving and driving off, probably for more cheap baps. Still charged full price,... More

I held a reception there on the 26th, the buffet, the staff everything was perfect. Even the special request for Scouse was not a problem, which went down very well with quite a few Liverpudlians who were in attendance. At last The Greyhound is back to the standard it was at awhile back.

Upon staying in the village of Saughall we visited the Greyhound Inn as it was within walking distance. It doesn't look much from the outside but I am glad we gave it a chance as there was a warm friendly welcome from most of the staff and the food was very good.I had the same meal on both occasions as... My family are ALL now regularly using this fab place. Most of us our pretty local, but some travel a fair distance,,,,,,,,,,,,, New Owners New Regime New Vibes = Great relaxed place in my opinion, reminds us of the Brunning and Price's of this World, but quainter and less expensive (although far from being cheap!). They are obviously trying very... More
