My husband and I stumbled across this pub/restaurant by accident and decided to go in and see if they were serving food. I can be a bit wary going into pubs that are in little villages when you're not local but I have to say I didn't feel uncomfortable at all and was made to feel very welcome. We didn't... More

Went here for a treat before xmas and was really looking forward to it having had nice mealshere in the past, we were going to go all out and have three courses and red wine. Firstly took ages to get menus as all staff were sat round talking about the night before not paying any attention to customers, watied ages... More

Hi. Sorry to see you had a previous bad experience at The Greyhound Inn, Saughall. We are the new owners, and after a small refurbishment programme, re-opened just last week. We have a great new range of cask beers and lagers, comprehensive new wine list, and most importantly, new menu's created by our new and innovative young acclaimed chef, Dan,... More

We are local and have visited the greyhound occasionally for dood over the last 6 months. On our most recent visit we had the Sunday lunch menu. The food was ok, starters were ok , the mains too was ok. You get what you pay for here so I would add its good value for money Can't complain at all... More

The Greyhound is a village pub which serves food, it has a small restaurant section, which isn't screened off from the main pub. I enjoyed a reasonably priced Sunday Lunch here last weekend with my family. The pub was fairly quiet, the service efficient and the starters and mains good quality. We didn't have desserts or coffee, so I cant... More

Food was pretty good, we had booked to go to The Ship in Handbridge but they had a gas problem so we were sent to the Greyhound. Waitresses were very attentive and helpful, we had pre ordered food but mis-communication between the pubs meant we didn't have it, so we had to order again. For 8 people and just over... More

Called in for the first time in a couple of years for Sunday lunch. Just don't do it.... Surrounded by intimidating and loutish behaving middle age men. Might has well have ate of a tray sitting in the middle of them while they enjoyed swearing st each other. Food was at the most average. Service was similar. Price too high.... More

The food her is just OK. The two of us had the chicken pie with mashed potato and green beans. The chicken was overpowered by the wholegrain mustard, as there was too much in the pie. It was ok. We both then had a mixed fruit crumble. This was of poor quality. There was hardly any crumble to be found!... More

Visited in the mid-week. Pub was very quiet with just one other couple in. I guess they are busy evening and weekends. They had a good selection of real ales and lunchtime specials on offer. 2 for a tenner was especially appealing. We both had gammon, egg and chips which was 'ok' The gammon wasn't the most generous in size... More

We ate one afternoon in The Greyhound and had an ok meal (this is before the menus been changed) the food was ok but nothing to write home about. We understand that there has been a new menu which is working very well. The main issue was the overpowering smell of the gents toilet from our table. We had a... More
