nice looking cakes!

This was a nice pleasant stop off for an hour to meet friends. The cafe is comfortable and the staff were very pleasant. The bill was not jaw-dropping. If you are looking for a travellers (or shoppers) rest then try this one!

Imagine yourself transported back to a time of refinement, courtesy and excellent, expert service, delicious and wholesome food. Put that in a scrupulously clean, modern and comfortable restaurant with high ceilings and tall windows, and you have tearoom perfection! We had a late snack lunch after sightseeing in Chester; you can have anything from a breakfast to light or full... More

Visited on Saturday afternoon. Plenty of tables. Food was lovely. We shared afternoon tea and the staff were very attentive. I had expected more of a traditional interior. Wooden cafe style seats were slippy and the cake stand was plastic. My one criticism is that the loos due to space restrictions open out at the back of the room. Do... More

As I have coeliac disease eating out can be something of a chore. Not at Zugers. The staff could not be more helpful and if they do not know the answer to a question they know who to ask. There are always a wide range of gluten free meals available and a choice of desserts. I can't recommend this place... More

As a huge fan of the swiss delicacy, the Rosti (shredded potato with onion, swiss cheese, bacon and topped with a fried egg), i was delighted to hear the Zuger's restaurant on the Wirral were opening a Chester City centre cafe over the road from the roman amphitheatre. Yes, the prices are high, but its a rare treat, so that... More

I had been here before and although not recieved great service I had enjoyed the cakes. I had never eaten anything else here as I thought it seemed a little over priced for what people had on their plate. I'm not too concerned about cost as long as the quality is right. I went in recently with my partner and... More

One can't help but compare any aspiring tea-room with the Yorkshire benchmark, and this Cheshire newcomer generally stands up remarkably well to the comparison. Other reviews give the picture; I enjoyed the quirkier details - like the lemon meringue milk-shake. The choice of teas is a bit limited, but my food (a Rosti 'Alpine') and drink were delicious. Chester is... More
