We had breakfast here mid-week, the place was very busy but we were seen to immediately and taken to a comfy seating area. We had 2 children with us and they were given lovely little pictures to colour in that would be put on the Zugers tree inside the cafe. The kids were given fresh juice in lovely little milk... More

We have been regular lunchers at Zugers since they opened their tea rooms in Chester. Without any exception, we have found that we receive excellent food along with consistently high standards of service from all the staff. For lunch,we would recommend the Zugers platter to share with a side portion of chips- traditional walnut bread made by Grandma Zuger is... More

Thick Meaty Juicy Burger jaw breaking in size. Such a wonderful menu and the cakes oooh the cakes you would die(t) just calling out to be eaten. Very friendly staff food is spectacular and most of all they have knowledge of any special diet requirements you may have, 100% Returning only fault is the cakes are on display and are... More

I am so glad I found and tried this café over the weekend. We had the chocolate layer cake and the cheesecake and both were beautiful, went down well with out Earl grey Tea. Not the cheapest but the best we have tried in Chester, well worth paying a little more for the quality and I was happy to pay... More

Walking past this restaurant on the way back to the hotel I was lured in by the amazing cakes. The variety was exceptional and they all looked scrumptious. The only down side was not having enough room to try them all. Good offer on a cake and a slice of cake. Lots of customers and lots were ordering to take... More

Ten of us all had lovely breakfasts. The poached eggs were excellent bit hen again it all was. I need a set of those plates with handles they use they are ace. The selection of cakes and teas were also excellent. Service was good and it was reasonably priced.

A notch above a greasy spoon. Food was ok but they need to watch their ingredients for flavour, Egg mushrooms and bloomer all a bit bland. Sorry but a poor weak coffee too. A clean cafe on the right track.

It was pleasing to find this place almost next to the hotel and even better to see the lovely courtyard garden at the back. The furniture, decor and homemade cakes illustrate its Swiss origins and NHS staff also get a 10% discount, which they kindly gave to my whole group, not just me. Some strange pricing, though, eg most coffees... More

We often dine here for lunch when shopping in Chester. Today was race day but despite this we got a table immediately. The food is always lovely and the cake selection is superb. The children's menu is a little uninspiring but they are always happy to accommodate our requests. Service is always good and they provide proper colouring books for... More

Great for snacks - tea, coffee and cakes always good. Never yet tried the lunch menu, but selection looks promising, so will sample this one day soon. We popped in for iced coffee one very hot morning this week and it was divine! Served in a mini 'milk bottle', it was creamy, frothy and had a beautiful coffee flavour to... More
