We found this to be a very friendly restaurant. We had to wait a little while for our lunch but they were very busy. The food was good and well presented. It's obviously very popular because there was a queue for tables so patience my be required.

On a wet Friday lunch time in Chester we easily found Zugers near to the main post office. It was recommended to us and described as a nice tearoom to have lunch. It was much more than just a tearoom and the lunchtime menu included a range of interesting Swiss dishes that far surpassed the usual midday offerings elsewhere. I... More

After our last visit to the beautiful city of Chester - there was one place I wanted to revisit - Zugers. The food was exceptional, as anticipated. The service was attentive and friendly, as expected. We had a vegetarian rosti - which was beautiful presented and tasted wonderful also a omelette and the children's option . The milkshake arrived in... More

Zugers is always busy and as usual we had to wait about 15 minutes for a table but we were not going to go anywhere else as I had decided that I must try the open ham sandwich which I had seen someone eating on a previous visit. It did not disappoint. The ham was delicious, served on walnut bread... More

Not far from the Roman amphitheatre and a couple of doors away from Pizza Express. Enjoyed lunch here recently. We must have timed it well as we did not need to queue for too long. The queue quickly built up while we were there though. The menu has a Swiss influence. Service was prompt and friendly. Nice ambience, a busy... More

my wife and i visited Chester 11/10/2014 and i made the decision to have our afternoon snack at Zugers rather than other Tea rooms i had looked into. very glad we did. We were made very welcome from the minute we entered to the moment we left. The food was very good and very quick. I enjoyed the selection of... More

We were early for our hotel check-in so we came into Zugers as it was just around the corner. I fancied the 'breakfast special' as advertised on the blackboard in the front window but apparently this sign should have been taken down. The waitress kindly said she would ask the chef as it wasn't busy, and he obliged. It was... More

We called in here for lunch on a Saturday in September. LOCATION: At the bottom end of St John Street, close to the Roman amphitheatre and a short walk down to the the River Dee and boat trips. ATMOSPHERE Not surprisingly, given the very positive Trip Advisor reviews, the place was packed with people enjoying hot and cold lunches. We... More

Popped in for a snack with my daughter. She had a nice sandwich, followed by a fantastic pudding. Very pleasant place with nice staff. My only criticism was that the chips I had with my meal, which came with a lovely salad, were not good at all. Nowadays, if you're going to offer chips, they should be irresistible and not... More

Shared a wonderful lunch with three friends- one of whom is gluten intolerant. No problems for the Chef - we were told that everything on the menu can be adapted. She had a tasty and beautifully presented prawn open sandwich with a delicious and unusual salad accompaniment. I stuck to my favourite - the rosti - which as always was... More
