Description: Simon Radley at The Chester Grosvenor, has held a Michelin star for nineteen years running surely a record outside of London. Under the direction of Executive Chef Simon Radley the exceptional modern British menu changes seasonally and uses only the finest ingredients. The cellar is also renowned, having one thousand bins and a sommelier of prodigious knowledge. The dining room itself is as dashing as you would expect with comfy chairs, oriental carpets, fine woods, original artwork, ebony pillars and many-layered tones of gold and taupe. The service is distinguished by its warmth and professionalism. Top marks.

expected more from michelin 1* lovely presentation but with the exception of the salt cod lacking in taste. Wine pairing definately poor value for money.

We had the Tasting menu and it was a delight. Loved the autumn theme. Never thought they could reinvent cheese and tomato!

After our marriage at the Chester Grosvenor, my wife and I return each year for a meal in the Simon Radley restaurant. Five years and five meals later it's always a wonderful experience. Whilst admittedly we haven't visited many Michelin starred restaurants, the Simon Radley restaurant consistently exceeds the standards (food, ambience, service) of the two other restaurants we've visited... I've been lucky enough to have eaten at some great restaurants in my lifetime, many of which have had many a michelin star but this was one of my most disappointing experiences. Unfortunately the Grosvenor Hotel (as beautiful as it is from the exterior) does suffer from being stuck in a bygone age. Now I love old places and love... More

I'd read a few mixed reviews about this restaurant but decided to give it a go as it does still hold a Michelin star after all! I went with my partner. We've been to a few Michelin starred restaurants now and I can confirm this one is definitely up there with the best! The service was great - you don't... More

We were told that it was the only Michelin Starred restaurant in Chester, Liverpool and Manchester. We would certainly give it a star. We had the tasting menu with accompanying wines. While I am a less adventuresome eater than some, I ate each of the dishes and enjoyed them all. The wines were certainly complementary to each dish, and the... More

Went for a special meal. This is my third visit. Plenty of staff. Food very imaginative and exciting. Outstanding bread and cheese selection. A classic Michelin star atmosphere rather than modern progressive.

Our son and daughter bought my wife two 8 course taster meals for her birthday. We also had the suggested wine to accompany each course and must say the entire evening was a complete pleasure. The staff were welcoming and friendly and of course extremely attentive. The food was quite outstanding, every course different and explained in detail by the... More

Me and my partner had the opportunity to stay at the Chester grosvenor hotel and sample the Michelin star restaurant! The 8 course tasting menu was superb along with the chosen wines! Slightly pricey but but worth every penny! The service was first class and we loved watching the staff work! Amy was very friendly and a credit to the... More

We booked for a taster menu having been given vouchers as presents. We really looked forward to returning. Sadly we found the staff very cold- no one smiled! When we eventually were seated the food was delicious although too much emphasis was placed upon seafood. When settling the bill we had to correct it after giving up the vouchers when we... More
