Though the name might conjure up images of dancing mussels, Chester’s Moules A Go-Go is a class act. Focusing on modern European-style cuisine, the restaurant is done up in rich, continental-style woods giving it a contemporary yet relaxed feel. Steak frites, fresh fish and rotisserie cooked meats all grace the a la carte menu, but you’d be foolish to miss some of the freshest mussels this side of the ocean. Brought fresh from the Anglesey cost, they’re freshly steamed in one of four ways: classique, mariniere, chorizo or green Thai cury. Friday and Saturday’s also sees the popular grilled lobster meals in, and a surf and turf with a rib eye steak and 1/2 a grilled lobster is a steal at £15.95.

Looked a nice place to eat, situated on the rows, it was almost empty ( never a gret sign ) staff seemed friendly enough opted for a steak N waffle from their ealry bird offer which wasnt fantastic and then a brownie and icecream although I actually got a waffle and ice cream.

We went here for a dinner with a group of 16 managers. All of them very experienced travelers, so their standards are high regarding food and service. Yet the friendly staff and the kitchen succeeded in satisfying all of us. Thanks!

On another weekend visit to Chester over Easter my wife and I chose to have a late lunch here. Like every visit we've had so far, the service was good, the food was tasty, portions adequate, and my wife's special diet catered for. Nice relaxed atmosphere, comfortable seating and value for money. Worth the visit.

We went here for lunch and choose from the two course lunch menu which is very good value. Plenty of options for anyone not wanting mussels. Portion size is generous. Mussels were well cooked and the Hanoi mussels in particular were excellent. Nice relaxed atmosphere and friendly service.

Me and my boyfriend went to Moules a go go for a romantic meal- bad choice, the food wasn't partially that nice, which is one thing, but that night I was horrendously ill! I believe it was the mussels I ate which made me ill, as I'd been travelling all that day and only had time for an apple prior... More

Unsurprisingly, we went here for the mussels and they are excellent, with a wide variety of different cooking sauces. Crab starters were good, though could have been seasoned a bit more. Service excellent - attentive without being over fussy and nothing was too much trouble - including locating sea salt to partner the frites. Slightly surprised at the lack of... More

We ate here on Saturday lunchtime as we were in Chester to celebrate my husband's birthday. All four of us had the set lunch and had the soup, ham hock terrine and smoked mackerel pate for starters. Everything was delicious. We the all had the classic mussels with chips and a side order of b read to mop up the... More

My wife and I recently visited for Sunday lunch. This was our second visit. We were very impressed on our first visit, primarily by the outstanding quality of the mussels and the flavours that were gotten into them. We live over three hours away, but a decent kilo of mussels is hard to come by in this country, so its... More
