Was impressed with the first visit. Food was loverly and a good price. Only downfall was a member of staff who really didn't seem as she wanted to be there. Not very enthusiastic. Wouldn't put me off going again.

This pub is like walking back in time as I understand this is one of the oldest pups in Chester. Located under part of the walls and a very short walk to the river Dee and weir. Its a traditional pub offering a good choice of beers and home cooked food. despite being very buzzy, the staff were very attentive... More

Good beer, good service and good ambiance... All you could want from a pub. Built in the 1600's, a nice place for a beer and close to the river.

Stopped off with family for lunch after reading on the Internet that this pub was dog friendly. Double checked on arrival and they confirmed that dogs were allowed downstairs. Food was lovely and reasonably priced. Staff couldn't be any friendlier. Would definitely go back here if in the area.

Not been here for years and called in on the Bank Holiday for a drink. Good range of beers, the menu looked extensive and it had a nice atmosphere. Large room upstairs
