Way to Go

Picked this one off Trip Advisor, it was excellent. Good food, I had the pork, my wife had the Chef's Special which was an excellent 'stick to your ribs' stew. Manx ale from Okell's went down easy. Football was on TV but could be easily avoided by going to the other downstairs room which had a... read more

Ok on a cold dull February day what would be on your wish list for lunch out with your husband......ambience/a real fire/good service and great food. And again it was delivered here.I have to admit we did visit two other places in Chester that day to try them out but for one reason and another we didn't stay and decided... More

Came here to meet a friend. Pub close to the train station. We ordered nachos and chunky chips and they were very tasty. Staff were also lovely and explained the history of the building even though they probably get asked by every new arrival. Quite a lively pub because there was a match of some sort on but never the... More

My wife and I called in here as we were turned away from The Falcon because we had two dogs with us. Really pleased they did as well. We were made very welcome and the dogs received their drinks before us. Saw a lamb, garlic and rosemary pie on the menu and wished I was hungry. The beer (MPA) was... More

Visited this afternoon with 2 friends. One of my friends had her dog with her and we knew this was a dog friendly place. Staff were really friendly and the food was absolutely yummy. Nice atmosphere for a Saturday afternoon. Nice to chill and watch the footy X

I've been to a lot of places for a nice Sunday roast but this was by far the best one I've had. Everything is fresh and the roast potatoes are delishers. I ordered the Apple pie for my desert. The pastry was crunchy it was delishers. If your looking for a nice home cooked roast you have to try here... More

We stumbled upon this pub whilst finding somewhere to watch the football. They had a great selection of drinks and speciality beers & plenty of choice of cider. We headed up to the third floor and on each floor you can feel the character of the pub. Sadly we didn't try the food but other peoples did look really nice!... More

We have been the Bear and Billet many times and it keeps getting better. The effort made for each annual celebration is excellent. The Christmas decorations are especially well done. The food menu is varied and it's the only pub we know which ticks every box. Dogs are allowed, open fires, real ales, live sports and music, pub quiz, Oktoberfest... More
