Description: Food is at the heart of The Farmhouse, with award-winning cuisine served throughout the day in a choice of areas. The bar and lounge are popular throughout the year for coffee and casual dining, whilst our restaurant provides an ambient setting complete with an open log fire. 'The Courtyard' is large, light and airy, spilling out onto the poolside terrace where you can dine al fresco in summer overlooking our mature gardens and the surrounding countryside with a variety of mouth-watering menus. A choice of private dining rooms is also available as well as two gazebos for informal gatherings looking to wine and dine outdoors. We combine British and Continental cuisine with the odd dish from further afield to create diverse and imaginative menus that incorporate organic and Fairtrade products wherever possible. Our aim is to cater for all palates, from fine dining to something a little less formal, so forget all your preconceptions about hotel restaurants. It's about the food, the drinks, the company and maybe just occasionally 'one too many' on a school night.

I congratulate the hotel for trying to be a top notch fine dining and service experience, but I think it may actually detract from what instead is a great quality restaurant. I dined with 5 others and we all enjoyed our meals. I was a little disappointed with the lack of vegetarian options but managed to find something I could... More

Try the chicken pie its not what you would expect. It was exceptional. Desert was nice (small portion) but the meringues were bought in, prefer homemade.

I love this restaurant for the position and the food but unfortunately we visited here for the third time today and they let us down yet again. We have family living here in Guernsey and the first time they took us here for Sunday lunch they completely forgot to bring my husbands meal. The food was amazing but it does... More

Good food and particularly fine breakfasts. Menu seemed to be the same for lunch and dinner which was a little surprising

Excellent food and service, no problem of understaffing had an individual waiter on our last morning at breakfast as no other guests in at that time , two more came in as we were finishing.

We saw this restaurant advertised on a map for visitors and decided it was worth exploring. On the Sunday evening it was busy but not packed so we were glad we had made a reservation. The food was definitely worth every one of the four stars that the hotel boasts! I had a sea-trout that had been perfectly cooked and... More

Have had lunch here several times, and the service and food have been consistently good. On this occasion the children's menu gave a couple of surprises. A 'cottage pie' turned out to be nothing of the sort - just some unappetising-looking brown stuff (presumably meat) with a separate pile of mashed potato. Our child who ordered it could not eat... We were out walking from St Peter Port and only stopped for a coffee. On enquiring if coffee was still being served - it was noon- we were told we could have coffee whenever we wanted and were shown to a poolside table by a charming waitress. I ordered hot chocolate which was simply divine and I am something of... More

We were not staying at the hotel so cannot of course comment on that. We were passing and stopped here for a very simple cup of tea and buttered scone. The latter tasted quite dreadful and had to be washed down with the former. Ridiculously overpriced too. Plans to have dinner at the hotel in the evening had to be... More

Three of us enjoyed a leisurely lunch here yesterday sitting by the pool. Wonderful. The tomato juice was the best ever ( this may sound an odd comment but I drink it a lot! ). My friend had a wonderful steak with simple salad and we had fish and chips which was great although the chips weren't good; chunky and... More
