Description: Food is at the heart of The Farmhouse, with award-winning cuisine served throughout the day in a choice of areas. The bar and lounge are popular throughout the year for coffee and casual dining, whilst our restaurant provides an ambient setting complete with an open log fire. 'The Courtyard' is large, light and airy, spilling out onto the poolside terrace where you can dine al fresco in summer overlooking our mature gardens and the surrounding countryside with a variety of mouth-watering menus. A choice of private dining rooms is also available as well as two gazebos for informal gatherings looking to wine and dine outdoors. We combine British and Continental cuisine with the odd dish from further afield to create diverse and imaginative menus that incorporate organic and Fairtrade products wherever possible. Our aim is to cater for all palates, from fine dining to something a little less formal, so forget all your preconceptions about hotel restaurants. It's about the food, the drinks, the company and maybe just occasionally 'one too many' on a school night.

Three of us enjoyed a leisurely lunch here yesterday sitting by the pool. Wonderful. The tomato juice was the best ever ( this may sound an odd comment but I drink it a lot! ). My friend had a wonderful steak with simple salad and we had fish and chips which was great although the chips weren't good; chunky and... More

The welcome and service were very good. The staff seem to be recruited from the United States of (Eastern) Europe. Live music was on offer to accompany Sunday lunch - nice and unobtrusive. The soup was okay but otherwise unremarkable. The main course of roast beef with veg, duck fat roasted potatoes and nice crunchy veg was first class. It... More

We went with a group of 16 fellow car enthusiasts to the restaurant, but the staff could not get the food orders right and the prices for some of the drinks bordered on the ridiculous. For example, their 'de-constructed' chicken pie was chicken stew with pastry sat beside it and one of our group was given plain rice rather than... More

Having heard rave reviews we decided to treat ourselves on fathers day. I ordered the pea soup which was tepid dish water. My main course was a piece of seabass(label still on!) on a bed of gloopy risotto. Side veggies cold and courgettes bitter. The reason I hv bothered to give it a 1 star is the service which was the... More

We went to the Farmhouse for lunch and had a fantastic meal from their set menu. The service was a little overbearing initially with the waiters pushing us for wine at least 4 times - However after this very small issue at the start, everything panned out beautifully and we had a very leisurely lunch in this lovely restaurant. A... More

We stayed for 3 days but didn't find time to sample their wonderful afternoon teas, we saw groups enjoying a fab selection. We just couldn't eat any more!

My wife and I returned to the Farmhouse for a fourth time on the 10th of March to celebrate her birthday. We could not have been made more welcome. We were greeted by Kitty (who we had met on our previous stay), with a beaming smile and welcomed to our Guernsey home from home. We were introduced to Francisco, the new... More

My wife and I took the children to The Farmhouse for afternoon tea expecting a great experience, boy were we disappointed. We were prepared to make an afternoon of it and decided that the children could have the same as us so ordered an adults afternoon tea for them as well as us ( so three adult portions). We were...
