Fantastic food

Sensational value with the Early Bird menu. French country style restaurant with a first class wine list and very attentive service. I would have no hesitation to recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We went here for a bar meal and while the quality of the food was generally very good, each course was let down by the 'finishing' in the kitchen. First up was chicken lover parfait with 'toast' only it was 2 triangles of pappy sliced white bread which had probably been somewhere near a toaster as it had no colour... More

Cannot fault this restaurant where the staff are friendly and efficient and the food is excellent. The manager and the majority of staff have worked together at this restaurant for many years and know how to please their customers. Many visitors come back year after year and the restaurant is popular with locals who make regular visits.

Managed to dump the kids and head out for a relaxed evening meal as a couple on Good Friday. I haven't been to La Barbarie for about 5 years, it is tucked up in the lanes of St Martins and I would not classify it as a go to restaurant but we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were welcoming, accommodating... More

The service was very good and attentive, but we had an issue with one of the meals which was very bland and totally lacking in flavour. We thought that this may have been due to the fact that it was vegetarian and the restaurant serves mainly fish and meal. However, the staff were very good and exchanged it without quibble.... More

During our 3 night stay we ate at the restaurant on 2 occasions. Our order was taken by friendly, knowledgable staff. Excellent choice of starters and main courses as well as desserts on a well priced set menu. Ala carte menu also available. All our courses were well presented and were delicious!! Highly recommend this restaurant!

Last night I had one of the best meals for ages. Sea Bass with steamed leeks. The flavours, texture and presentation were excellent. I am so glad I chose from the special board. To follow I had a wondergul bread and butter pudding made with gache. Can't wait to return.

We went here for a tennerfest but found that as with a lot of tennerfest menus what we liked was restrictive and certainly not a starter, main and dessert choice. So we picked from the a la carte. The Chateaubriand was cooked to perfection (I like medium-rare and my wife likes medium so I tend to have the middle pieces... More

Not been back here to island for some years, but taken by our friends Roy and Janet who live on island for many, many year's. Fabulous, decor and welcome so perfect and genuine. Grand to be called Madam ! Food exquisite, my fish was in lemon butter style sauce, and was the best sea bass I have ever eaten, and... More

Staying in St Martins we walked from there to Petit Bot bay and then east along the coast to Saint's Bay and then a little further along looking for somewhere to have lunch. La Barbarie had been recommended to us but how to find it? Eventually we found a landmark and from there we found the restaurant about 15/20 minutes... More
