Great home cooked food

Gloria's is an unpretentious cafe/tapas/restaurant tucked away in the corner of a small courtyard of shops. My first visit was with a group and we had a selection of tapas. The garlic butter prawns were delicious, and we ran out, so the waiter ran to the butcher's to get a key to the fish shop to... read more

Yet again a superb meal. The party enjoyed every part of it. The tapas was an excellent starter in all shapes from chicken to white bait in a garlic mayo. Mains were Mexican, South African and augmented by quality steak. To finish off we all had complementary pancakes as it was Shrove Tuesday.Heartily recommended restaurant.

This is my favourite restaurant in the world. Glo and staff always make you feel like you stepped into your Mother's house for her to make your favourite meal. You are treated like family. If it's your birthday, she makes you a cake and the entire restaurant sings happy birthday with the lights dimmed low. If you want to see... More

Fijian Suruwa is my latest jam. For a long time, I was on a Lamb Tagine tip, but I'm branching out. The bobotie better watch out! Gorgeous food, well prepared, and it never disappoints. The tapas are scrummy, the breakfasts are hearty and the tea is proper lush.

Fantastic Food and Service with Tristan, the food is so tasty, I had the Tony's Pasta and would recommend it, the desserts are also to die for, and very naughty.

Gloria's is an intimate venue but the restaurant is never empty, in part because of the wonderful specials. A huge menu is never compatible with a small number of covers and quality food, but Gloria supplements her modest regular menu with a range of specials that give her regulars a chance to try something out of the ordinary every week.... This is a lovely restaurant - friendly service and excellent food, albeit a bit too spicy hot for my palate! The menu is varied and their Tapas are delightful. The ambience is lovely, however, and a good place for a quiet dinner for two.

We ate here twice during our stay in Alderney and both times the food was superb. The goat curry was delicious as was the lamb tagine and we enjoyed trying the tapas as starters. Definitely recommend Gloria's. We also enjoyed calling in for a coffee in the morning always nicely served.
