STOP PRESS... We are proud to announce we have received 2 AA rosettes for culinary excellence. Having initially trained at the White Pheasant in 2005, Head Chef Calvin Holland went on to cook at some of the UK's finest multi-rosette & Michelin Star restaurants, only to return to the White Pheasant in August this year as Head Chef and Proprietor. With an emphasis on locally sourced produce alongside award winning wines, this family owned restaurant offers everything from light lunches or a traditional Sunday lunch to the finest A La Carte menu. The epitome of country dining, boasting a beautiful open fire and weathered floorboards, the Pheasant is now taking bookings for Christmas parties with a special menu of exquisite dishes designed for the winter months such as braised cheek of Hereford beef or a Ballotine of Gressingham duck. I have reviewed this restaurant favourably before but as a fine dinning experience, the menu changes with the seasons. I am glad to say that the white pheasant remains a wonderful eating experience. We also had the wines with each course of the 5 course starter menu. It was a super evening with good service in a country pub atmosphere.

I have been coming to this restaurant since it reopened, the welcome is always warm and they are a lovely family. Calvin is very talented and the team deserves the recognition. Very well done.

Great food and wine, four of us has the tasting menu and I would highly recommend it also try the wine pairing very reasonably priced at £19.99. Very accommodating staff if there is something you don't like on the tasting menu they will substitute for another dish. Looking forward to going back

We went to the restaurant today having read such good reviews decided to take my parents. I must say it was worth driving for an hour to get there. Service and the food were excellent and hope to make it back there soon.

we must go back to the White Pheasant for a meal at the weekend because I don't think we saw it at its best on a quiet weekday evening. The food was very good, we had no complaints on that score. The service was excellent although I can never understand why, in an almost empty restaurant, the staff always seat... More

We took advantage of a Travelzoo deal that cost about £24-£25 per person. On a Friday lunchtime there were very few other customers in the pub so we received the very best of service. Each of the courses was beautifully presented and tasted divine. This is fine dining of the very highest quality, from the beautiful bread at the start... More

My partner and I ate here on Valentines Day and it was a gastronomic delight. Probably one of, if not THE, best meal I have ever had and I would totally recommend it for the ambience, friendly welcome, equisite food and overall dining experience.
