Having recently had a long weekend stay just outside Cambridge, we’d turned to trip advisor for help finding our evening dinner for Friday. We’d seen The White Pheasants consistently good reviews so booked in & we weren't disappointed. We had the Chefs taster menu beautifully presented & wonderful flavors, service was carried out professionally & with a smile. Overall experience... More

Recently had Sunday lunch here. We booked after reading the good reviews. The restaurant certainly justifies the praise it receives. The food was excellent while the staff were very attentive, efficient and well trained. The atmosphere was relaxed and the whole experience was very good.

The menu looked good, and the service after a shaky start was efficient and helpful. A crab starter lost out by having too much cucumber, and the fillet steak was cooked rare, though I had asked for medium. They're attempting some high-class cooking, charging accordingly, but on this occasion not hitting the mark.

Dear James thanks for taking the time to visit our restaurant, sorry to read you were a little disappointed. The Cromer crab starter with sweet corn, lime & cucumber ice cream is probably our most popular starter at the moment, it's a shame it's wasn't' to your palate on this occasion. I hope our restaurant manger swiftly & courteously dealt... More

I read a lot of reviews about the White Pheasant before booking, both positive and negative so I went with an open mind. I thought a Wednesday night might be a little quiet, but it had a lively buzz about it and the staff were perfect, knowledgeable and not over intrusive. The menu had a varied selection of which I... We visited this Restaurant last Wednesday, we booked two taster menu's, all five courses were nothing less than great, the presentation of each course was excellent and the tastes were fantastic. I have been lucky enough to eat at some fantastic restaurants over the years and this was one of the best two or three meals I have ever eaten.... More

Looked up and needed to book in advance. Welcoming host, friendly staff, Food was top notch, deserts were really good. Possibly a bit too much salt in the mains but that is a matter of taste. Highly recommended and if we are in the area again we will happily revisit.

When you’ve booked in to an untried restaurant with good friends you want to ensure you’re still going to be good friends at the end of the evening. When you’ve booked in to an untried restaurant and you arrive in the car park on a late summer’s Wednesday evening in a bypassed village far removed from the roar of a... More
