Fine food (stunning deserts), pleasant location, staff very cheerful and helpful. Great farm shop. Suggestion: why not make a feature of the history of the name? A battle where Britain was defending itself against a take over by continental powers wanting to impose their own rules and regulations on us and also to help themselves from our treasury. Sound familiar?

If you are in the area and want to do some shopping for meat or vegetables then you should not miss this opportunity to stop here. The on site cafe serves homemade food at great prices and the farm shop has the kind of food that you cannot buy in supermarkets. We have already placed our xmas shopping list with... More

We thought we would try a Sunday morning breakfast.. The cafe was extremely busy but the staff seemed to have it all under control we were seated straight away, we ordered our breakfast which we didn't have to wait to long for considering it was busy. Sausages, bacon, fried egg, beans and toast delicious thoroughly enjoyed it. Looking forward to... More

I am relatively local to la Hogue and I love the place. Yes, it is more expensive than tesco but the food quality is excellent and the butchery department is staffed by experienced butchers who will debone, dice, score or do anything you like to your purchases. But in all honesty, my main reason for going is to enjoy their... More

I visited on Sunday with family and at the time of looking at the menu the roast lunch was still available but I was disappointed as it was sold out by the time we went to order. Instead I opted for the steak burger which was absolutely delicious, no quibbles and lovely chia. The only let down was the Oreo... More

this is a family favorite. Such a popular restaurant now that you can't guarantee to get a table after 1pm. The food continues to be excellent and the staff are cheery and smile through the most hectic of lunch times. I notice that La hogue is really popular with Mums with young babies and children, but there is a wide... More

We have been using the shop since it opened and, although the prices are a little high, the quality is very good; the butchery is excellent. Range and selection cover most things you would need for a weekly food shop, most being locally sourced and there is a great range of 'Cook' frozen meals; these are excellent for those days... More

Lots of roadside advertising including large open sign . Confusing arrows direct you past the entrance. Eventually you work it out only to be met by smug staff waving you away having closed for tea at 3.45 pm. Then pick your way back to to road on pot holed track ! My advice keep driving

Dear Reader Lets put Nick's comments into perspective. He arrived at La Hogue Farm Shop & Cafe at 3.45pm on a Sunday afternoon. The farm shop and cafe had been trading for 13 years & the cafe has always closed at 3.30pm on a Sunday with the shop closing at 4pm as many other shops & businesses do - its... More

We've been to La Hogue several times now and it's a great place to meet and chat with friends... You're never rushed and the service is spot on! Lovely variety of meals and cakes! Coffee and cake are simply the best here!

We happened upon la hogue entirely by accident as we were travelling en route to Norfolk and were keeping our eyes open for a place to stop for lunch. There is a really prominent sign on the road directing you to the farm shop and cafe which is very helpful because it is a small rural road turning, easily missed.... More
