Sometimes the food can take a while to arrive if lots of customers but parmigiana and tiramisu are heavenly!!! Definitely the best Italian food and the most authentic (all staff are Italian) in Cambridge.

My friends and I come here often. The food is tasty, satisfying and some of the cheapest you'll find in Cambridge - a large bowl of pasta costs around £4 from what I can remember. The coffee is really worth coming for too. It isn't glamorous but the atmosphere is warm and lively. What makes this place special is the...

Was told about this little place by a local. The most amazing Italian food you'd never believe you were in the UK. Owner was on hand recommending wine & discussing the great new cheeses he just brought in. Cook singing joyfully in italian from the kitchen adds to the ambiance. Great value.
I have reviewed this restaurant previously but wanted to update. The prices have gone up recently (along with everyone else of course) but I still regard it as good value, particularly when compared to the many chain restaurants in Cambridge. I know from people who work in the chains how much of the food is pre-packed. This is not the...

Clowns is a bit of an institution in Cambridge, having been here "forever". We don't go very often now as I avoid Cambridge due to high costs of parking, the traffic congestion and the lack of interesting shops, but when we do we consider going to Clowns as a treat.
Today I had an espresso coffee, wife had hot chocolate...

Clowns is a favourite of many of my friends. Personally, I am not a fan at all. The range of coffees is pretty good and they taste pleasant but there are plenty of other places in Cambridge where you can get a nice coffee.
For me the issue with Clowns is that whenever I visit there are flies everywhere, and...

This back street family run cafe is SO Italian, you have to wonder that you haven't been transported there. Its on a back street in the middle of Cambridge, mainly supported by astute students and Italian speaking residents. Its not quiet, its not luxurious, its not expensive. It is a gem, where you can order lovely pasta, four types usually,...

Also in Italy we have bad, but authentic, restaurants. Clowns clearly falls in this category. The food is not very good and the place is not the nicest in Cambridge. On the other hand it's pretty cheap (that explains the huge number of students there) for Cambridge and the coffee is better than in most places. If you w
There is something about Clowns, I have been going there for more years than I can remember. So friendly and such an enjoyable place to be. Food is simple but authentic and coffee is great too. Don't expect top class environment but expect somewhere to go back to again and again.
This restaurant/cafe is basic in furniture and decor but the food is great. It's all home made by the Italian owner and has a very friendly, family atmosphere. A lot of customers seem to be regulars which is a good sign. All the pasta dishes are filling, tasty and good value for money. The desserts are fab!
