Neither average and nor very good but 'Good'

We go here on average once a month because we like fish and it is of course predominantly fish here. If you get one of the best waiters it can be an uplifting experience as you get the feel good factor along with some quite decent foot. On the other hand the experience can be disappointing if an... read more

I and some friends visited the Cambridge restaurant a couple of days after visiting the Oxford one. Both were excellent. There a number of aspects, Ambience, Food, Service and overall enjoyment and impression. The ambience As with others in the group the venue was light and airy and the style was professional and relaxed. The food Crispy sprats and we... More

Having been here twice we were thought it was a good 'plaice' to spend our anniversary, and in all fairness the restaurants appearance is lovely, a very romantic setting! We called the restaurant to book a table only to be told bluntly there wasn't any tables. Yet when we turned up as a walk in we were quickly seated with... More

Four of us went to Loch Fyne Cambridge on 23 April 20215. We were hugely disappointed with it. Having ordered 4 starters, 2 were served, the 3rd one was the wrong starter (had ordered a special pan fried mackerel and got mackerel pate instead) and the 4th was not served at all. We sent back the wrong one and asked... More

I work in London but my live in Cambridge with my girlfriend. She suggested we go out for supper on a Wednesday night and chose Loch Fyne. I've been generally disappointed by the quality of Cambridge restaurants but Loch Fyne was an exception. Our waitress Vicky was exceptional and - for someone who had never been to Loch Fyne before... Went for lunch & had set menu which was great value for excellent food & service. We were seated at the back of the restaurant which was lovely & bright due to the roof windows, we would go back.

But the wine choices aren't great and are too expensive - why doesn't a single restaurant in Cambridge have a decent house wine? I want to go back to Italy.

Took my wife to Loch Fyne for an evening meal. The fish was well cocked and well presented. Had the set menu which was good value for money. The restaurant was extremely busy, so I recommend you book in advance. If you don't like fish, they do offer meat. You must give this place a try.

I'm not a fish eater, in fact I'm a vegetarian so choices are extremely limited, but Loch Fyne restaurants are still very pleasant places to eat. In Cambridge the service is absolutely excellent; friendly, welcoming and helpful Much appreciated.

I have just been to Loch Fyne (The Old Dairy, Elton, Elton Hall Estate, Peterborough PE8 6SH) with my husband for our 15 year wedding anniversary and it's without a doubt the best seafood in the UK that I had in a long time. Our waitress ( Asnate) and all the other staff were so friendly and professional. We had... More
