I have been here quite often and the food on offer is as you would expect in a chain pub of this type. I have never been disappointed with how it has been cooked or presented. The staff always seem happy and are willing to help.

I used to hate coming in this place with the old bar staff, which were rude and didn't care about their customers. However I have been here a few times since Michelle has taken over and ..... WOW what a transformation! It's like a different pub, really enjoy coming in here now with family and friends. Bar staff are more... More

We were 15 adults and 7 children and were catered for very satisfactorily. Although it was a very busy time, with other parties in, there were very few hiccups and we virtually all ordered different meals, we were looked after well and the children were made to feel welcome too. Would certainly consider going again if we are in the... More

We had a lovely meal on Friday 17/10/14, I had the fish n chips. The fish was very tasty, no skin - the batter was done just right for me. My husband had the 16oz Gammon steak which he loved, it was succulent and well presented. The staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble, especially Michelle... More

Has changed for the better since Barry and Michelle have arrived. If you had a bad experience before or haven't been in definitely give it a go! Best pint of pedigree around this area !

Have visited The Monkfield arms most days over the passed two weeks, my partner, father-in- law and myself all agree it is one of the nicest friendly places we have visited, the menu has a decent selection of meals at reasonable prices and all the food we have eaten has been excellent and good portions, the drinks also are reasonable with... The Monk doesn't pretend to be some posh gastro pub full of fine cuisine, it does pub meals at pub prices. This evening I had 16oz of Rump Steak for £13, no fat just red meat. Any place that offers this value for money has to be elevated above a one star. However there are never enough staff on, ten... More

Visited for late lunch, very sunny Saturday afternoon. Can't believe just two bar staff on a day like this so took ages to be served. The food was pretty sad and I just don't understand how they can mess up chips, they were undercooked and soggy, thankfully they only gave us a few. Please please please someone open a new... More

Ordered roast dinner, 1 pork, 1 beef. Arrived very quickly Partners roast pork dinner barely warm, roast potatoes so soggy when touched with fork collapsed, broccoli so overcooked it could be spread with knife. Pork so tastless and textureless could have been the turkey (it may have been!) My beef could not be cut with knife, I requested a steak... More

New management at pub has made the pub more lively, clean friendly and improved the food. Worth a visit! I would be surprised if new management would ignore the customer as stated in other review below, my experience was good.
