Visited for late lunch, very sunny Saturday afternoon. Can't believe just two bar staff on a day like this so took ages to be served. The food was pretty sad and I just don't understand how they can mess up chips, they were undercooked and soggy, thankfully they only gave us a few. Please please please someone open a new... More

Ordered roast dinner, 1 pork, 1 beef. Arrived very quickly Partners roast pork dinner barely warm, roast potatoes so soggy when touched with fork collapsed, broccoli so overcooked it could be spread with knife. Pork so tastless and textureless could have been the turkey (it may have been!) My beef could not be cut with knife, I requested a steak... More

New management at pub has made the pub more lively, clean friendly and improved the food. Worth a visit! I would be surprised if new management would ignore the customer as stated in other review below, my experience was good.

Visited this pub for Sunday lunch with my parents, was firstly surprised how quiet it was, looking back that should've been a warning! Staff need to been trained in customer service, manager needs re-training. Food is only microwaved, sizzling chicken skewers were cold and clearly left sitting around. Food arrived at different times and when we sent back one dinner,... More

Awful. Food cold and uninteresting as are the staff. Microwaved taste to the food. Dirty cutlery and glasses.

I was in a group of 4 on a visit on a Sunday lunchtime. The food was nice and very reasonably priced, and the tables were positioned nicely so there was a nice amount of spade between them. The reason for giving this experience just 3 stars was that only one of the three deserts ordered was delivered to the... More

Oh dear. Can't work, won't work. This seems to be the attitude of Marstons Monkfields 'finest'. The little unhappy dumpy barmaid has no idea of customer service. Marstons seem to employ idiots - and that's on a good day! Does having the town monopoly mean sit back and shove it to the paying customer?!!

This is my 2nd visit to Monksfield Arms. Nothing has changed in that year long gap. The staff are a credit to this establishment and i hope this has been noted by the Management. In particular the barman Keith and the waitress who were both working on 20/2/14. Food delicious and at bargain prices. If i lived close by i... More

Ate in here on Wednesday Feb 5 as an alternative to the Belfry Hotel. I had the steak and ale pie which was well cooked and plentiful. What makes this otherwise unexceptionel city centre pub stand out, for the wrong reason unfortunately, is Keith the barman If you don't like people and don't like serving people you might want to...
