We had a table for 4 at Midsummer house 24th Jan 2015 We went for the 10 course tasting menu, with an option of cheese supplement the presentation of the food was amazing, as is a tasting menu you do not get a lot , but if you want to comfortably get through all 10 then it is enough, a... More

My partner and I visited her for lunch. I opted for the 5 course vegetarian tasting menu and my partner the standard 5 course tasting menu. I applaud loudly that I had the option of 5, 7 or 10 course vegetarian menu - this is not the case in many restaurants with Michelin star rating. Love the champagne offered on... More

Visited for dinner and we really were blown away, the whole experience was sensational and blew our minds. From the minute you arrive to the minute you leave you are made to feel like royalty and every detail was perfection. Beautiful intimate building, with dinner served in the conservatory, intimate setting without being stuffy. We opted for the 7 course... More

My sixtieth birthday treat, our third two-star restaurant this year, and this was the best (even though I don't like beetroot ...)

Things didn't start off too well. Firstly the access that our taxi took was blocked so we had a bit of a round the world tour. Ultimately we were dropped off at the front door, which was just as well as the path across the common is unlit. Not a walk my better half in heels was much impressed with... More

Our meal at Midsummer House was outstanding in every way. At every course we were left astounded and delighted by food that was technical and interesting, but also really delicious. We couldn't believe the lightness of the wonderful parmesan foam in the first course, the tenderness of the venison was out of this world, and the meal culminated in an... More

I was taken here for lunch to celebrate my 40th birthday. The food was amazing and the services outstanding. Worth every penny, looking forward to going back very soon.

Certainly not cheap, but you pay top price to eat at a place like this. Really enjoyed it as a treat, the menu was full of such original dishes and the time and care that went into the food was evident. If we could afford it we would be here a lot more often. Highly recommended for a special occasion.

Ok so goats cheese isn't my favourite, and biting into a canape disguised as a chocolate eclair but filled will liquid goats cheese wasn't my favourite part of the meal, but I'm not a fan of goats cheese. But the quality of the food and the range of cooking techniques, the skill and flavours on offer were just fantastic. The... More
