Having previously to a couple of Michelin star restaurants this stands out as one of our favourites for the food and experience. We didn't find it too rich and heavy as we did with the French and enjoyed every course more than Le Manoir/ Alimentum.

I was taken here for a special treat by my husband and I don't think we could have asked for more. We opted for the 7 course menu and were glad we did as on top of those 7 courses we had several appetisers and chocolates after the meal. We were so full by around the 5th course that we... More

Some people might not agree as fancy food might not be their thing, but this is definitely worth a visit just for the experience, the place was smaller than I imagined however this made for a more intimate and less intimidating atmosphere. The amount of work that must go into each course shows immediately as even the tiniest morsel on... More

A fabulous experience, probably the best meal ever. We had a very warm welcome, staff were fantastic, ambience perfect for a decadant day out with friends, light and fun - not in the least pretentious. Food was amazing - every course delightful and exquisitely presented. We would not hesitate in recommending.

As we are such regulars to Midsummer House, I will keep this short and sweet and not go into the specifics of a single meal: this is one of the best restaurants in the country. Set by the river in Cambridge, Midsummer House has a very relaxed atmosphere to it, enhanced by the beautiful views around it. The food is... More

We visited Midsummer in late September for our eldest son's 40th birthday. The attention we received was very good, having pre dinner drinks served upstairs first with canapés. Lovely setting on the river, shame the weather was wet! The food was delicious and delicate, guests having the vegetarian tasting menu as well as the usual tasting menu with a few... More

We went here a few months ago and the 10 course taster meal. It was a real treat for us as newly weds and would love to go back. We loved Daniel on GBM, unfortunately he wasn't there when we visited but kindly sent a signed taster menu to us. Would recommend and would definitely go back! The staff were... More

There is no doubting the quality of the cuisine here. With seven and ten course tasting menus of carefully crafted dishes and a fine wine selection, there is nothing to criticise with regard to the the sophistication and complexity of the food on offer. Sadly we had one hot dish which arrived cold - an error which was met with... More

This is the second time we have eaten at this restaurant and once again it exceeded our expectations. From the moment you walk through the door you are treat as though you are the only people there. We had the 7 course lunch taster menu with flight of wine. The food, wine and service was excellent. We are already planning... More
