We arrived late for our reservation, however the staff were very gracious about this. The various amuse bouche were interesting and delicious. Although butter was put on the table no bread was offered to us and we had to ask for some. The starter was presented beautifully, but it was put in front of us so sloppily that the decoration... We visited on 16th December for a birthday treat. One member of the party had an allergy which was fantastically catered for. Our first choice wine was unavailable which was a shame and should really be pointed out before ordering but that is so minor I can forgive! The food was sublime and included some theatrics which was such great... More

We booked the function room for a family occasion and were rather disappointed. We felt that the restaurant failed to live up to its 2 Michelin stars. First of all, the room was freezing (this was December) and this completely detracted from the whole experience. When we stated that we were cold, no action was taken. We turned the radiators... Fine dining with a hint of theatre which could be perceived as pretentious if the dishes themselves did not back up the exuberance of presentation. I wasn't sure what to expect here and first contact didn't inspire confidence as the need to give a credit card to secure reservation and the fact that the establishment takes over 80 pounds per... We have wanted to go here for a while and managed to book a table for lunch. The lady on reservations was great (I think her name was Sharon) and when we arrived it exceeded our expectations. The restaurant is simply lovely and the atmosphere was very warm. Food, wine and service was outstanding. We were very well looked after... More

There are not enough superlatives to describe the Experience of dining at this restaurant. You may read the menu and see familiar foods there, but it just does not prepare you for what you are about to receive. The finest service, food, wine, decor & ambience we ever had. Brilliant value and simply the best.

The food is beautiful to look at and even better to eat. Unless you have a very large appetite, the 7 course menu is ample. Service is attentive but not overly so, and together with the comfortable atmosphere make it a pleasure in every way to dine here. I thought the food price was reasonable considering what you are getting.... More

I am not going to repeat all of the superlatives that have gone before. What I will say is it lives up to it's reputation. We chose the 5 course taster. Along with the optional cheese, it was simply outstanding. The service was attentive without being intrusive. The knowledgeable Sommelier helped us choose some great wines to go with our... More

Well for 25 years I have lived within walking distance of Midsummer House and until this visit, for a special occasion, I had never eaten there. It is an exceptional food experience. The only choice you have is whether to go for 7 courses or 10 and what to drink. We chose the flight of wines. I started with a G&T... More

Really enjoyed everything of that meal: great food, impressive service, amazing wine and champagne, nice atmosphere and very attentive service that take care of every single detail from start to finish.
