I made this booking for my wife and me for her 40th Birthday. Neither of us has ever been to a Michelin star restaurant before, let alone a 2 star one, so we were keen to see how much better it could be compared to the best places we had been before. Much better in every way it turns out!... More

Fantastic experience....lovely unpretentious staff, happy atmosphere, wonderful menu. We went for the wine selection to go with the tasting menu and ended up trying things we'd never have ordered but which made the whole meal twice as special. Don't hesitate to book in!!!

There are 2 set menus on a Saturday evening one with 7 and one with 10 taster courses. The only time we could get for 2 was at 9.30 which meant we were still there after midnight as we had the 10 courses. Each course is very different and presented beautifully, some I didn't like but the vast majority were... More

My husband and I went for lunch and had the 7 course tasting menu. We both thought that the food was excellent but for some reason the experience didn't quite work for me. I have been lucky enough to eat in a lot of Michelin starred restaurants and I didn't feel entirely relaxed and comfortable in this one. There were... More

Our first visit but maybe not the last. Good welcome...we haven't experienced only 2 menu choice before...slightly disappointing...but nevertheless good food. Slight problem with long wait between some courses but this was put right straight away with glass of bubbly and everything went smoothly. You must visit if in the area....make sure you save up first!!

My fiancé and I visited midsummer house on Saturday to celebrate her birthday. After walking across the footbridge we were welcomed by the very cute exterior of midsummer house, and it really does have that homely feel once you step inside. We had a late table (9:30pm) but were told we were more than welcome to arrive early for some... More

I booked here for a saturday night in august for a table of four (which we had to book in may) It really is a lovely restaurant and a nice location. We had a drink in the upstairs bar area with some canapes which were lovely. We found the staff to be very attentive and pleasant. We ordered the ten... More

I've been a fairly regular visitor to Midsummer House for the last 16 months, so when I needed a venue for our small wedding the private dinning room at Midsummer House was the obvious choice. We booked the private dining room for 12 people having 7 courses. We choose not to have a flight of wine, instead choosing the house... More

Food delicious, staff superb and the bill, probably not much more than you would pay for a tasteless meal in a gastro pub.
