Thoroughly enjoyable lunch here yesterday. From arrival at 12.30 to departure at 17.00 we could not have been better looked after, the staff are magnificent and are rightfully proud of the food they are serving. The Maitre'd is a treasure and had a wonderful sense of humour. I was worried that the atmosphere would be stuffy, but we had a lovely relaxed time in beautiful... More

Visited in January as a Christmas present. The whole experience was excellent from the food to the staff. We chose to have the 7 course tasting menu complemented by the wine tasting option. Stand out courses for me were the beetroot dish and the desserts but all dishes were excellent. And the paired wines were also fantastic. It's a very... More

We have been fortunate to each in many Michelin starred restaurants - this is without doubt the best. Food is exquisite - 7course tasting menu was more than sufficient - Jean Francois runs an excellent team with service being precise efficient but with personality (a rare combination) the combination of DClifford and JF is awesome. Hope to go again soon

As we drove back to Canterbury having arrived earlier for a dinner in the private dining room l thought about what is required to make an evening special other than good food & service? Is it the way that restaurant managers talk to you as you arrive or during the evening, is it the inability to be able to park... More

I was fortunate to visit with a group of friends for the 10 course taster menu and flight of wine. Honestly I can't praise this restaurant enough, from start to finish service was flawless. Food was outstanding and the wines complimented each course just perfectly. If there's something on the menu you're not sure about make sure you take a... More

Last night we spent over three hours enjoying the great service, atmosphere and above all the 10 course tasting menu at Midsummer House. From the canapés to the petit fours it was a wonderful journey through fish, meat, vegetables, fruit and chocolate! This has been on our list for a long time and we weren't disappointed. Yes it was expensive…but... More

Booked this as a significant birthday treat for my wife, so we said sod the cost and went for it and had the 10 course vegetarian tasting menu and the flight of wine (plus I had the cheese course). The food was impeccable, the service fantastic and the whole experience everything we hoped it would be, topped of by Daniel... More
