I booked a table at Midsummer House in December 2013 for our wedding anniversary in September 2014. On the particular Tuesday evening the restaurant was buzzing with happy and delighted customers. We sipped our champagne delivered in a rather dramatic drinks cabinet before embarking on a truly delightful journey of flavour, textures and creative combinations. To be sure its not... More

A great romantic evening. All the details were perfect. Great service and setting. Food all worth the high bill. As long as you're happy to pay the price, it's guaranteed to be a special dining experience. Strongly recommended for a very special treat.

We went as a foursome for a special treat and were so impressed. The ten course tasting menu at £105 is good value relative to what some other two star restaurants charge for the same, always assuming the food lives up to the billing. Obviously not all courses were to all our tastes, but you couldn't doubt the artistry and... More

From the moment we entered the rather unassuming building we were treated to a wonderful experience. The service was personal without being overbearing and the gaps between our 7 courses was perfectly timed. The food and more importantly the contrast of temperature and textures on each plate were fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the restaurant and would highly... More

We thoroughly enjoyed a birthday lunch - the taster menu was well-balanced, excellently presented and served with good humour and skill.

We visited Midsummer House restaurant for what was supposed to be an amazing memorable day. My partner was planning to propose to me there and wow what an experience we had...WORST EXPERIENCE of our lives. We were chucked out of Daniel Clifford's Midsummer House restaurant for enquiring if the meat in our main course was supposed to be served cold.... More

This is our second Michelin 2 star in recent months so comparisons (to Sat Bains) are inevitable! (Whatever did our inheriting sons do wrong?!) We certainly appreciated the high level of attentive service and felt the 7 course lunch, after quite a few amuse bouche, justified the high Michelin rating. It would be 'nice' to leave it there but I... More

We had a eight course tasting menu. The food was full of contrasting textures and taste and we loved the way they juxtaposed temperatures. Service was excellent with a hint of theatre (in they way they presented the food). Fantastic food, one small let down was the lamb wasn't pink.

The place does deserve its Michelin star as it is very much an experience (impeccable service in a park like setting, relaxed without being too formal) with multiple enjoyable courses. Very impressive food but after a while I think i may have had too much foam.
