The seven of us visited for a birthday lunch and were surprised at the large choice for all three courses. The staff were friendly and our meals plus side orders all arrived at same time. Huge portions and excellent value for money and we can recommend the swordfish. It was superb. Terry and Janet

We've eaten at this establishment a few times, We are very lucky to enjoy this restaurant as one of our locals. Always a good menu, always enough staff to go round and always good food. If I were a little picky, the veg is sometimes a little crunchy for me and roast potatoes on a Sunday are also not quite... More

What a lovely place to eat. We really enjoyed the food and it was great to see enough staff to ensure you weren't left unattended. The pub itself is very clean and perhaps too bright, someone needs to dim the lights a bit. Overall, recommended.

We were a party of 6 ,had a great Sunday dinner. We all really enjoyed the meal apart from the roast potatoes(think they were deep fried) They had a fluffy middle but really hard outside, not very nice. Shame as the staff are really friendly and helpful and food tasted great.

A family member died and we booked The Old Crown, Girton, for what we thought would be a light refreshment buffet. What a surprise we had in store for us when we arrived there after the funeral. The buffet was set up in their conservatory and the tables were laden with a wide variety of absolutely delicious food. Teas and... More

A return visit to "The Old Crown" at Girton. We were last there in November 2014. Sunday lunch was as good as ever, although now the starters, mains and desserts are priced separately (rather than 3 courses for... as on our previous visit. Not a problem, just an observation). Thankfully, each course is still sensibly priced. We made sure we... More

We were in Cambridge for the evening prior to our son's graduation, we had booked a table, were met by friendly staff asked which table of two we would like. Three of us chose the fish cakes which were excellent, one had a chicken dish again very good. The salad bar was well presented with fresh produce, the Malteser Cheesecake is... More

Booked a family dinner to mark a 70th birthday. Non existent welcome. Menu orders processed like you going through a checkout. Made to feel like you are an inconvenience. Shame as food is very good.
