Canteen-style food, busy but OK

Great environment when you first walk in, but being busy, you wondered if you'd get a table. Canteen-style food server (although some dishes are cooked to order), good servings, a number of options. The staff on when I visited were friendly, although more table-clearing would have been good. Costs... read more

I love the setting and I keep returning hoping that it will be live up to my expectations, but quite consistently the service is poor and the food is decent, but given that you are being asked to pay £7-10 for self-service lunch one would expect a higher standard.

I love it. The cafe has a lovely peaceful atmosphere with spacious seating. The food is great, the cake is great, the service is friendly. The food is sourced and made locally and they make an effort to use Fairtrade brands. It's also a reasonable price and they do some good deals later in the day. The food may not... More

This is a great coffee shop - with spacious seating and free wifi. It's located inside a church. Really liked sitting on the 1st floor loft.

Sorry to say spent £14.95 here on 2 bacon sandwiches and 1 latte., after reading some reviews. We must have picked the wrong day! because its the most overated cafe we have been in. Would not recommend it. Felt like a total rip off, won't be returning. We should have passed by.

Came here for coffee and snack while shopping in Cambridge and like it so much we returned for lunch and were not disappointed. There is a reasonable selection of hot meals cooked on the premises and very much like home-made food. Decent beers from Elgoods, too. Will definitely return when next in the city.

Tasty food, warm, and no hassle to move on. Great for post Heffers review of purchases whilst waiting for son having a University interview. As befits a re-used church it is a haven.

Had an excellent lunch of a soup and a sarnie. I've been for coffee before but this was the first lunch. Enjoyed the view from the balcony, so the environment was great. Only down side was the service - rather slow. Only had one guy serving food and drink with another just on the till. Need more staff please, otherwise... More

Perhaps I went on a bad day. The venue is attractive though cramped. The staff member behind the counter who I thought was about to serve me just wandered off without even acknowledging my presence or eye contact and was sullen when she returned. Upstairs there was maybe a dozen trays piled with used crockery on tables and tables were... More
