A bit too precious...

One Michelin Star and the fussy, pretentious dishes and waiters that such places usually spawn. Food is fine but there are much better places to eat in Cambridge

As regular diners in Cambridge we thought it was time we tried this one. We decided to treat ourselves and try A Taste of Alimentum 7 course menu. Overall we had a pleasant evening, the service was good. While the dishes were ok I couldn't say they were particularly flavoursome or memorable and certainly didn't justify the price tag. There... I love this place! Superb service and superb food and wine. Would definitely choose Alimentum over Midsummer House (have been to both)

First visit , picked it due to the Michelin Star pedigree , Little out of town, on a busy road. Post modernistic , stark black and red ( Joel would be proud) Choice of alacarte or tasting, interesting wine list Little atmosphere , didn't help sat oppersite sliding kitchen door Plenty of other tables ( 10 other diners) Amuse bouse... We haven't eaten at a Michelin star restaurant before and our Granddaughter had booked this restaurant to treat us to a meal.We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the restaurant , staff were very welcoming and helpful, we ordered our meals and drinks, food came course by course and each course was served with a full explanation of what... Wonderful food very well presented and very good flavours . The staff are friendly but there was no one front of house to welcome you and say goodbye. Generally the staff are non commital and not very personal .saying that a lovely meal and evening .We would go again on a special occasion .

We visited Alimentum for our anniversary and tried the taster menu and flight of wines. It was beautifully presented and every dish was delicious. I would recommend the taster menu if you are unsure of what to eat as it was such a fantastic experience. I was concerned about being too full to appreciate it all, but the dishes are... More

This is the second time I have eaten at Alimentum and although I would very much like to keep it a secret I feel others should know how good the food and ambience is. This is the first Michelin Star restaurant I have eaten in as I can be a fussy eater (vegetarian who does not eat mushrooms or broccoli)... More

My husband and I came here for our wedding anniversary. We have eaten Michelin star before but I was particularly impressed that they let me ( a vegetarian) choose between 4 different menus to get me a tasting menu I liked. The food was great,as you would expect. The service was good, but maybe not as slick as some other... More

We were lucky enough to have been given a voucher for our birthday's so last night my husband and I used it towards the 10 course chef's tasting menu. On arrival we were warmly greeted, coats taken and shown straight to our table. We were offered still or sparkling water, just found it a bit odd they start with that... More
