I've been to The Eagle several times and it's always a good place for a drink. Sit in the back bar and marvel at the ceiling or take your seat and be part of DNA fame! The bar staff are always friendly and the service is quick despite the fact that it is usually crowded. Beer is well kept.

I like the DNA story of this pub and I always come here with tourist friends as this pub is one of "the must" in Cambridge. The food is in the average, I like their burgers but you can find much better burgers somewhere else in Cambridge. It is a good place if you want to get a beer after... More

More a pub than restuarants this historic setting is well worth a visit. Decent drinks, and a good, varied menu with genius portions. The food is well worth trying.

This pub, packed with history, is one of my favourite pubs in Cambridge. DNA was discovered in this very pub and there is more history in the walls of the Eagle than many other pubs I know, for example did you know a window on an upstairs floor has NEVER been shut? More about the pub, reasonably spacious, I really... More

Came here with my partner and two of our friends. It was raining outside and when we got inside, it was very busy, loud, hot and stuffy. It's cosy and quirky but the tables are quite close together. We had beef Sunday roast £8.95ish. The lager shandy was very nice. I'd definitely come here again.

A cambridge favourite due to its history but the staff and service is poor and the food was terrible - cold and unimaginative and not worth a recommendation

The restaurant is a historical one. Established in 1525. It is a part of Cambridge University. The famous DNA-double helix duo Watson & Crick used to spend their valuable time here with a glass of "Ale". The food and beverage were excellent. I have taken Fish & Chips along with French wine.

Tried to visit this really interesting old pub last night and it didn't go well. Waited 10mins to be served in stifling heat, a customer in front of me patronised terribly, me ignored. Reason for review is that when challenged, barman became very chippy and sarcastic. It's a busy place so won't care about one review, but carry on being... More

A classic pub with the wonderful Greene King range of ales and beers. A must because it is steeped in history - though that pretty much sums up Cambridge. But just seeing the ceiling with the WW2 RAF pilot message burned in ... and think about being there when the discovery of DNA was announced. Plus like so many pubs... More

I've been drinking in The Eagle since I was an undergraduate and have always come back to it as my favourite central Cambridge pub, partly because of the atmosphere but also because they have always served an excellent pint and decent food.
