Famous pub, suprisinlgy good food great beers

We were recommended this pub during our first stay in Cambridge, and I must agree with positive reviews. Pub is large, lot of young people, but also families. Good selection of Ales (also Guinness available) and very nice environment. With bad and cold January weather, it is really a great place... read more

It was wonderful to visit this historic pub again after many years. A Cambridge fixture, the Eagle walls are covered with paintings, newspaper clippings and sketches from the last three centuries. The food (we had seafood) was delicious. You don't have to be a drinker to enjoy this pub. Truly an experience.

A beautiful pub in a beautiful city. Only called in for a drink but the food looked delicious. Menu had some "different" dishes and was very reasonably priced.

Just at the corner of benet street, From the outlook you will not see any surprise until you are inside, Is a big restaurant fill with people. Very helpful bar crew, Must grab the outdoor seating if you visit during summer !

It's worth visiting and taking the obligatory tourist picture, but it's definitely not worth it eating here. Some of my food was frankly rather gross, and the selection of beers wasn't exciting either.

I can't believe I ate at such a historic place. Ate out in the beer garden. The food was great and it had a wonderful atmosphere. Must for vacationers.

My partner is a scientist so insisted we go here for lunch with its science history. I was expecting a cheesy tourist trap with overpriced food. It was far from this, it was a busy pub but it was a pleasant atmospheric busy. It wasnt a tourist trap either food was good and reasonably priced.

I had an excellant half pint in there while doing the walking tour of Cambridge. Loved seeing the airmens names burned in the ceiling and reading the history of this place. The bartender was nice and the Eagle DNA was a nice beer!

My wife and I are not regular pub visitors but the Eagle is a must for us when in Cambridge. Of course it boasts a great history which includes the announcement by Francis Crick that he and James Watson had 'discovered the secret of life' but we go for the great food, particularly the pies. Despite its large size, the... More
