Famous eating place

Allthough always very busy - usually a good sign - don't be put off. There are plenty of nooks and crannies in this place and staff will find you somewhere eventually. Food very good and affordable. This is an amazing traditional pub with a lot of little rooms. It's special because of the table where in 1953 the discovery of the DNA was announced. I've tried fish and chips for the first time in here and was delicious. If I'm back in Cambridge I will return for sure.

Nice place. Friendly staff. But what to drink for the driver of the car? Some non alcoholic beer would be nice, I think. :-)

I only stopped off to have a look at the rooms at The Eagle which are steeped in history, it seems all the University smarty pants drank here. When the atom was split it was announced here at The Eagle. The atmosphere is great, all the Air Force fellows from world war 11 drank here and they signed their names... More

There is always a buzz and plenty of atmosphere in this traditional Cambridge "watering" hole. Very busy both at the bar and ordering food, yesterday evening was no exception. The bar staff friendly and professional, and the food excellent. The steak was particularly good. Not a place to go if you want a quiet pint in a corner! There is... More

We stopped here for a drink only and was pleased with the quality of the cask beer but not with the service, more time spent chatting o her friend than concentrating on the clientele. I suggest that you pop in and look round and only but something if you are really hungry or thirsty.

Good food and atmosphere. Such a slow bar. Overall a good experience of you're patient. Will go back.

We went to the eagle and ordered 2 beers and 2 coffees. The bar mans response was shocking, he pulled a face and said Costa is down the road if you want a coffee. I honestly thought he was joking it was that rude! We realised they did serve hot drinks so we asked again, his response again was so... More

Loved the choice of beer and buzzing atmosphere. We struggled to get a seat but that was only down to it being such a popular pub. Would have given 5 stars if the toilets hadn't smelt so bad! We had to leave just to use toilets elsewhere!
