Great old place to enjoy traditional English pub food. Many local beers on tap. Central location. Check out the history over a quiet ale or two, we'll worth the effort.

I went this evening with an American friend and his nephew. The DNA story is great and the old pub is hugely atmospheric. But the food we had was embarrassing - a half size, forlorn battered cod; a half-hearted burger; and a truly pathetic microwaved fish pie with three plonked vegetables. Have a beer, soak up the history and eat... More

Fantastic pub with great history with a good range of cask ales that are well presented but I tried their famous fish and chips which were pretty awful and worse than a birds eye oven preparation that you could buy tesco.

The Eagle looks nice, and has a good atmosphere, but the food is very disapponting. I ordered a risotto, which was clearly not freshly made, more like microwaved. My boyfriend had fish and chips which was fairly square shaped, and small. I complained, and was offered a free coffee. Had I not already paid before the food came, I would... More

Lovely pub tucked down a side street, lots of RAF memorabilia and although we did not eat there, the food they were serving looked delicious.

I am somewhat of a science geek, so I had to make a trip to the Eagle where Francis Crick announced that he and James Watson found the "Secret of Life" in the DNA double helix. In addition to this historical significance, the pub was a popular place for pilots in WWII. They wrote their names in soot on the... More

Really nice old pub with some good beers on tap. Wine served was poor (off), stick to the beer. The outside area is the best and really lively, a proper atmosphere. Unfortunately you can't stay out there all night as they are not allowed to keep it open all night, due to the (six) people who live in the vicinity.... More

I have been to this pub many times for a few swift pints before heading elsewhere in Cambridge for dinner. But we had the family visiting Cambridge so we decided to have a pub meal at the famous Eagle. The food was very average but was at least served hot, but the real buzz came from the atmosphere which was... More

Great place for a drink on a wintery day - there are lots of small rooms where you can settle in and have a good catch up. The portion sizes are large and the food was traditional pub food - not subtle but good and solid. I had the sausages and mash. I would go back just for the mash.

Set in the heart of Cambridge is The Eagle pub which is famous for it's RAF bar at the rear of the pub. This pub has atmosphere, eclectic mix of people and a range of beers. The outside courtyard is a great place to sit. The food menu is limited and not that great.
