Authentic Pub!

I cannot speak about the food but the decor atmosphere and Beer are all what you truly expect from an Old English Pub - If your lucky enough to get a seat try to get the table in the old Fire Place - an Intimate little nook in the pub! - Have a Pint of Timothy Taylor's Draft

Walked into a time wrap, this pub is full of character and history. The food was delicious, portions generous. Not cheap but worth the price for ambiance alone!!!

I was there twice one the first day I arrived Cambridge and the second day when I was leaving. Both for lunch time. The first day I ordered the Eagle burger, it was a double dry burger with two slides of so thick bacon that I couldn`t eat completely. The second day I wanted to give a second chance and... More

Only been there since 1525 and the history oozes out of the walls. Beer a bit pricey but a good range of ales; good pub food; toilets minging, seriously needed ventilation or massive injection of air spray.

Had used this pub a lot when at Cambridge when it was a great place to eat and drink. Food now is mass produced and was generally awful. Poor quality steak, soggy chips etc. But was packed with tourists. Living off its reputation. Crick and Watson would spin on their DNA. Avoid. 10 better places to eat in 50 yards.

I stopped at The Eagle (several times) during my two week stay in Cambridge. It is a very historical bar with airplane pilot's messages scrolled on the wall, and where Watson and Crick are said to have been drinking when they 'discovered DNA.' There is a plaque on the wall commemorating this too. I went several times on my own,... More

This is a fine pub, with all the usual bells and whistles. Be sure to go the the back room. On the ceiling are signatures made by members of the RAF during the war.

we had meat pies, potted ham, and fried white fish. All were good. Staff is hardworking and attentive on a crowded Sunday lunchtime. Flyers should visit the RAF bar.

Never again. Toilets were disgusting. Soap dispenser broken, toilet rolls on the top of toliet on the floor, someone had been sick. Bin over flowing. Spoke to the manager regarding the toilets and his reply" well I suppose I had get my only female staff member to sort it out". Not my problem Food was a real let down. Fantastic... More

The Eagle is a delightful place with great and deep history. But don't eat there, but if you do don't expect service with any consideration. Chatty helpful barman in the front when the place was relatively quiet before the sudden rush of tourists. When full the same (lone) barman frantically tried to take myriad orders while pouring drinks. We ordered... More
