Excellent meal and service

Great value at £13 for two courses for lunch. We had Artichoke soup followed by fish cakes and chicken liver pate and lamb burger respectively. The food was very good, the service brilliant and setting petfect outside in the courtyard complete with a happy tweeting birds' nest. The food was smooth and creamy but not overly rich. All very tasty.... More

I have often been disappointed by meals out in Cambridge but my experience here last Saturday lived up to expectations. Good service, excellent food and all round top meal. We had delicious pork belly starter, lamb and duck and the creme brullee dessert was divine. Next visit will ask for a garden table. The owner went out of his way... More

Wish the portion sizes were bigger because I absolutely loved the food served here. I thoroughly enjoyed myself here with a few of my friends.

This little restaurant on the edge of the city centre is conveniently located for the railway station (15 minutes walk or a short bus ride away) and the Catholic church (across the road). It has large windows giving on a busy road; for those who don't enjoy watching the traffic there is some seating at the back, but with not... More

We had a family celebration following my son's graduation and the Oak Bistro was perfect. It was a Saturday night, so booking was necessary. . The Oak Bistro is central in the town making it easy to get to. The restaurant was busy and lively with a good atmosphere, we were round a circular table, space is tight but in... More

Perfect service: polite, efficient and timely. Well prepared, presented and tasty food with well sized portions. Good atmosphere, plenty of space did not feel crammed in. A refreshing change from so many establishments now. Table booked in advance, and request for position and food allergy was met. Couldn't ask for more: look forward to returning again.

Booked this restaurant due to good reviews on TA & we're not disappointed, delicious meal, interesting menu & a good choice of wines. This is a lovely restaurant with excellent food, good wine attentive service & nice white table covers. Don't be put off by the outside appearance (& horrid window flowers!!) as we nearly were or you will miss... More

My husband & I took our daughter here to celebrate her passing her PhD. The staff were friendly & helpful. I am gluten & dairy intolerant & we contacted the restaurant beforehand to check that they could cater for me. When we arrived they explained which dishes would be suitable in such a way that I felt confident that the... More
