Just the right amount of care and attention from Philip and the team. We turned up on spec and they were full, no problem said Philip - go to the pub for a drink and he would call us to say the table was ready ! The Mushroom risotto was perfect - not too strongly favoured and the Potato Gnochhi... More

I always like to give praise when due but sadly on this occasion I can't the food was ok but the service was haphazard and a bit rude !! Especially on the amount of tip left by another table tips are for service received not a right and the food was better than the waiter what a shame

I took my wife, eldest daughter and son for a birthday lunch, we chose from the a la carte menu. My wife loved the food, scallops and sea bream, my daughter was complimentary, soup and a steak as was my son, duck salad and a steak. I though the food terrible and the service less than attentive. 1 chose french... More

Food was excellent, service outstanding and very friendly. Popped in for a late dinner after 9.30 but nothing was too much trouble. Not cheap but worth it.

We visited here last Saturday night for a family get together. As with most restaurants in Cambridge you have to book weeks in advance if you are to get in anywhere. Opening a restaurant in Cambridge must be a win win situation where due to the affluence and tourism high prices can be charged. Don't be taken in. Cambridge is... More

I love trip advisor. I doubt I would have stopped off here if it hadn't been for the rave reviews. It's on the corner of a busy junction, looks innocuous enough etc. but had a real treat in store when we booked a table for an early evening dinner. Nice selection of cocktails - we had the spiced pear martins... More

My wife and I went to the Oak Bistro because presently it is nearby. It is a ten minute walk from the bus station. Even for an early Monday night table we had to book. There is a restaurant and a garden room (summer only) . Both are simply and tastefully decorated. Everything was clean and fresh. We were warmly... More
