Description: The River Bar Steakhouse and Grill, with its cavernous loft-like vibe, quayside location and creative crowd, has become one of Cambridge's premier restaurants. Located close to the bustling town centre, in a riverside spot opposite Magdalene College, The River Bar Steakhouse and Grill is a popular choice for special occasion dining and drinks. The Grill serves the very finest prime cuts of beef, aged for 28 days and sourced from local farms. The menu includes a large selection of cuts, from a classic porterhouse to a tender fillet or indulgent chateaubriand for two. Burgers meanwhile are freshly made on the premises and marinated chicken and fresh fish come straight from the signature grill too. Though based around the steak, The River Bar Steakhouse and Grill caters superbly for vegetarians, serves sublime desserts and prior to your meal we heartily recommend enjoying hand mixed cocktails in the bar, the ideal start to any special evening.

Had a lovely dinner on a Friday evening with a group of six. The steak was delicious however our waiter was quite rude and stuffed up our order and then made it out to be our fault. It required us to talk to the manager. Apart from this experience the rest of the evening with the atmosphere and the food... More

Was a bit suspect about visiting a steakhouse outside of what are meant to be the best steakhouses in the world, but was suitably impressed by this establishment. Met the head chef - I love it when they introduce themselves to you in the restaurant - a great character who you can tell is passionate about food, and that came... More

Although this restaurant is a little tucked away and out of sight just off the river Cam Punt station, it is very much worth a visit. My wife and I and my two cousins visiting from Milwaukee all had a very good meal at one of their tables overlooking the river Cam. The BBQ Tuna steak I had was cooked... More

Had a really good meal with a table overlooking the river with great views. Fillet steak cooked exactly to medium rare and my husband had a lobster mac and cheese which he said was very yummy. Very pleasant service. Restaurant front entrance tucked away a little but just off the river and central. Worth a visit

We booked a table here for Sunday lunch and we were a party of six. The location is fine, on the river in Cambridge and the restaurant is upstairs. We decided to have the Sunday roast at £17.50 per person. It took 45 minutes for us to get our meals! When we asked where our food was, there was no... More

I came here last night for an anniversary dinner having found great ratings on tripadvisor and was not disappointed. The restaurant has a lovely setting on the side of the river and nice views, the atmosphere was great and the staff were very professional, attentive and lovely. As it was our anniversary dinner we went for the Chateaubriand and it... More

I have been there with a friend on a Sunday night for a cocktail after dinner. Definitely a good impression. We had a couple of long drinks made with fruits along with a coffee cocktail made with the famous Italian brand Illy. A place to go if you like a good drink. Service was fast and accurate. While mixing the... More

Great location, friendly staff, food was freshly prepared (I could see the grill area from where I sat) My only gripe was that they mixed up mine and my wife's steaks which took a while to realise (though they were full to capacity during our visit and were good enough to find us a table without booking, so recommend booking... Quick bites: By far the only Steakhouse & Grill in Cambridge that is conducive to one's well being. Cocktails Favorite: Peach Fuzz with very flashy bartenders. Food Favorites: Starter-Homemade Warm Scotch Eggs, River Farm Smoked Salmon. Mains-BBQ Short Ribs, 10oz Sirloin Steak (both aged 28 days), Half Roasted Chicken. Sides-crispy Mixed Salad, Hand-Cut Wedges, House Coleslaw Dessert-Crème Brûlée Service: Right... More
