Vegetarian soup contained ham

I enquired about the Soup of the Day, marked "(V)" for vegetarian in the menu. I was pleased to be offered a choice of two flavours and chose Pea & Spinsch soup. Only after eating some did I find it contained small cubes of ham! The staff werr good and immediately offered to refund or replace.

We were very disappointed with the food. We used to go regularly, but since the change in management last year the quality has gone down considerably. I had a prawn cocktail which was served in a tea cup with 2 small wilted lettuce leaves, the prawns didn't look as if they had been cooked properly and were not pleasant so... More

We were greeted and shown to our table; our drinks order was taken and we were supplied with menus to browse. Although there was a Table d'Hote menu at a very reasonable price, there were a few slightly more appealing dishes on the a la Carte menu for me. Service was good if a little on the slow side and... We visited The Bridge on 2/5/2015 and ordered drinks, I ordered Elderflower and got Appetiser. For mains we ordered the Gourmet Ham Egg and Chips and I had Sirloin Steak. Gammon was priced at 12.99, when it arrived there was one slice of very fatty belly pork cut up into 4 pieces 2 eggs and a few chips. For £12.99... More

We had a family lunch at The Bridge. The food there is very good: very tasty and plentiful. We go to the Bridge fairly frequently and the food is consistently good. The service is friendly, but the food is so slow to arrive. As we had been there before, this was expected, but it was particularly bad this time: it... More

The Bridge is a Central point to meet. The recent makeover is good, but I was disappointed with my food, The Cajun chicken was not spicy at all I think they forgot the cajun, and it had no cajun mayo which it was supposed to come with, the chips were very hard and the waitress was not much in evidence... Always enjoy going there. Clean pub, good simple food, location and staff. We had steak and ale pie, chicken burger and gammon egg and chips. Good pub food in a lovely location, winter or summer if you can get a table outside!

First visit; we had a lovely 2 course lunch; the waitress and bar man were very helpful and accommodating. The Bar man saw my Gourmet card in my purse when I went to pay and he kindly reminded me that I could use it there. First time for that too!! Very handy. We shall return!!! Vanilla and choccy cheesecake was... More

Very disappointing meal, not enough bar staff, not nice to see member of staff Effin and Blinding at the bar on his night off with his friends when there are families in. Great location, just needs a bit more effort from chef and staff
