Excellent food! Service not so much!

Had an impromptu visit to the Bridge! Gorgeous pub and gorgeous food! Our waiter let the pub down sadly! Was not aware of the Thursday night steak special clearly written on the specials board as you enter the establishment, he could not tell us what it came with! We ordered a bottle of wine and a... read more

We came to the Bridge for a second time to celebrate Mothering Sunday. They were one of the only places we could find happy to accommodate a buggy with a sleeping child among the tables. Food was good, if a tiny bit slow (they were very busy) and the service was attentive. We all enjoyed our meals and it was... More

Staff really friendly, alert and on the ball.....decor a huge improvement....food really well cooked BUT although the fish I had was superb, the side portions were laughably small, so too the accompaniment with the scallops. Correction is easy....the chef needs to put himself in the shoes of the customer... This is a nice restaurant and I'll definitely be going back...maybe... More

I have been to the Bridge a few times now, and cannot fault the food, staff or atmosphere. I recently visited not long after they renovated the restaurant. It looks fab! We sat in one of the new booths in the restaurant and it was so comfy and inviting. The food was fantastic and at great value. We had to... More

I had booked a table for 8 for 1.00pm on the 28th February 2015. the table I was shown to was set up for 8 but should only have seated 6. My guests arrived and we were quickly asked for our order. This happened twice more in quick succession despite the fact we had just arrived, some having travelled 90... More

Decor really lovely as newly taken over by Chef & Brewers. We were a group of 8 no starters, and we waited over an hour for lunch, staff obviously under a great deal of stress. Over heard other disappointed customers being told the place was understaffed, after sending back a main course for a second time, they were told the... More

Visited the Bridge twice since the refurb and both visits were really enjoyable. The new decor is brighter with a fresh contempory feel with a cosy atmosphere. The staff are efficient and friendly the food was good quality and tasty.

The Bridge has had a makeover and reopened on Valentine's Day. We booked for an evening meal and arrived to find that the decor and lights had improved plus a change of management. We decided to use the standard menu rather than the special only because the four courses were not totally to our taste buds. We were shown to... More

It's a nice looking pub, that's a bit out of the way. There is potential for sure, plenty of room and decent layout, but everything is in slow motion,no urgency or organisation. We went as a group of 14 before Xmas and it was a drag. Saying that, the food was ok when it arrived,I just needed a shake to arrest me from my... More

Today we had lunch at the bridge and it was lovely. After reading bad reviews about the place we went there wiv a open mind and were pleasently surprised. Service and food was really good considering it was so busy. We would definitely eat there again.
