It's not the first time I visit this place and neither the first time I write a review. My first visit to the pub last spring was awful and I wrote a review about it. Afterwards the manager department got in contact with me to speak about my visit and give me a compensation for it. I have to admit... More

Sunday lunch was a treat from his gran for my sons 16th. Busy when we arrived, ordered at 12.50 all had roasts birthday boy had slow cooked lamb. Restaurant took this literally with food arrived 1hr later. Unfortunately food lukewarm and my sons £14 lamb looked like shrivelled cutlet. Brief discussion with waitress and manager resulted in complimentary desert and... More

This riverside pub may not be the place to go for the ultimate gastro experience - it is, after all, part of a chain with a typical pub grub menu. However, it is great for an informal Sunday lunch in pleasant surroundings with ample parking. Having read previous reviews, I was nervous today about the possibility of part-frozen food and/... We've eaten here twice at lunchtime when out in bike rides and found it to be fine. The food is better than Wetherspoons with more variety and interesting ingredients, nicer surroundings and the lunch menu prices are as competitive (£4.99 for fish and chips and peas; £6.99 for chicken burger and chips). We waited 35 minutes for our food today... More

Living in the village we'd heard the previous management had left this establishment and therefore it could only improve. We stopped in about midday/12.30 on a Tuesday lunchtime to join a queue of two awaiting to be seated. The bloke in front said he wanted a table away from "the creche"(reference to a table by the door where the kids were piled... Four words to describe Christmas lunch. Truly, truly, truly awful! If you cannot find anywhere else for Christmas Lunch my advice would be to go hungry.

We were not overly impressed with our visit here. Staff seemed friendly at first but then it was obvious they were busy and the waitresses found it hard to keep up there spirits. Our food came out my fish was cold, the risotto was piping hot which really screamed out to me something was wrong. As we had to check... More

We went for a works Christmas lunch. The soup starter was tiny. The chorizo bubble and squeak was horrible - mashed potato cover in a poached egg with a sweet mayonnaise. Cold and unpleasant. With the main course, the green beans were browny olive - week past their sell by date I'm sure. The sprouts were mushy and cold. Our... More

There were seven of us in a pre-booked party. Service was friendly but very, very slow. It took some time for them to take a drinks order, even more time to take our food order, and even longer to deliver it. It really shouldn't take over 2 hours for us to get through a meal like this.

went to the bridge for our Christmas meal. There were 15 of us. Starters were delivered quickly and those who had them thought them good. The main problem was with the mains. Those who had the turkey found our veg to be cold, not warm, but COLD! One sent theirs back, but 4 of us didn't which was a big... More
