A great experience

The menu is very diverse, and a pleasant change from the run of the mill fare at most places. The place itself is quirky, with little rooms and stairs and it all adds to the great experience.

Have visited on 3 occasions so far. Menu looks good, interesting & varied. But on each occasion have felt completely let down on flavour... Staff have been ok, although not always customer focussed. Often happily chatting amongst themselves that little too long. Prices higher than average for area & would happily pay a premium for quality food. The ideas are... More

This is a busy pub serving excellent meals. We were a party of 4 and we were all very satisfied with our choices. The quality of food was excellent. Service was a little slow for which they apologised. It was very busy and in any case it did not detract fro our experience.

We booked The Old Queens Head in High Wycombe for lunch on the way to the theatre and it was an excellent choice. There are so many country gastro pubs around and we struck lucky with this one. The menu was interesting and a little different; the service extremely friendly and the food was very tasty. We would certainly eat... More

I made our reservation for sunday lunch via email which was easy and the correspondence helpful and polite. The pub is a nice country pub. The food was ok although the meat was quite fatty. The biggest issue was they totally forgot our main meals, we were asked if we wanted dessert and only then we told them we'd not... More

Great food, cold beer, warm reception and an idilic patio garden.... It's a great pub well worth a visit. I particularly recommend the fish dishes on the specials menu ....the chef really knows what he's doing.

I booked a table for 12 some weeks ago via email for a Summer Social and had excellent service from the beginning. I was emailed a menu for my guests to choose, which I don't have a problem being a party of 12. It was the hottest day/night of the year and so we wanted to sit outside, no problem.... More

Ive been here 2 times, once just for drinks and the other for a Sunday roast. The service has always been just OK, some waiters are better than others. From a pub point of view, there is a good selection of spirits and wines but not a good selection of lager / ale. On the Sunday I came here for... More

popped in for late Sunday lunch The premises are well maintained and the staff are very friendly My reservation is that the menu is not that inspiring. I had the salt and pepper squid to start which was very strange coming out in strands rather than rings. My main of pork chop with duck egg & coleslaw was ok but... More
