We went for lunch on Monday following a recommendation from a friend. We were impressed when we went in as it was a lovely old building but spacious and with a contemporary look too. We were made welcome by the staff and served promptly. We ordered 2 open beef sandwiches which were disappointing as it was cold slices which seemed... More

This is a gastro pub where we have eaten many times over the last few years. The food is excellent and the pub has a warm, friendly atmosphere but there are a couple of caveats: parking can be difficult so go early (and you will probably need to book as it is a popular eating place), service is friendly but... ...OK, so it's not perfect, and the service is mostly by youngsters and amateurish...but...the food was very good, the ambience is lovely, and while a bit on the overpriced side, I enjoyed my whole experience here, and the room upstairs for the restaurant has a delightful ambience. If they could speed up the bar service, review prices a little and... More

Just enjoyed my birthday dinner at the lovely Old Queens Head. Have been going here now for over 8 years and friends and family rave about this wonderful pub. The staff are warm friendly and efficient...especially Tina who manages it and Connor. The pub itself has a warm country pub atmosphere and the beer garden is a delight. This is... More

Please don't waste your money here. We used to visit regularly a few years ago and it was lovely. I went recently and had a terrible experience. The food was overpriced and tasteless. I had the smoked trout with a panzanella salad with crab and it was awful - the salad was just some stale bread, chopped up little gem... More

A super and very popular pub to enjoy brunch with friends and family. All 11 of us enjoyed a drink outside in the sunshine before going up to the restaurant for a relaxing brunch which stretched over into the lunch period, so we also all had a pudding. The full English Breakfast was very good, with a very tasty sausage,... More

We were not surprised to get a wonderful meal in lovely surrounds served by great staff. Excellent riddles... More
