Went here for one of my birthday treats, four weeks ago, a top floor table was requested...there is the ground floor, and a mezzanine, and the top floor.....we were given a table on the mezzanine level, ...But other customers were SO loud it spoilt the evening, they need some type of sound absorbant material on the walls....I cant remember what... Took a friend here for lunch recently and it was fabulous. Service is on the mark - friendly, attentive and not intrusive. Food is excellent as good as, possibly better than, their sibling pub The Royal Oak. Steak was beautifully tender and melted in each mouthful and their fish was sublime. Will definitely go here again.

When I heard a month ago that The Old Queens Head was under new ownership, I was nervous to say the least. However the same team of friendly and efficient staff is still in place under Tina's wing and all is well. The new owners are really keen to preserve the identity of the pub, and open to ideas to... I confess I've now been a regular here ever since Tina and her team took over. I love it , my wife loves it and even my grown up kids want to go there when they come home - food is great, atmosphere buzzing and service is so friendly and efficient it's such a pleasure visit. I advise anyone to... More

The food was average- the service was acceptable the prices- expensive! I asked about the baby change and was told there was carpet on the floor in the ladies and that should be fine! It was a listed building and the floor wasn't a problem for other guests- they seemed child friendly enough supplying high chairs (so they can take... More

Been here a few times and generally good but this time disappointed and left felt wondering what has happened. Roasted veg starter not roasted and beetroot pickled. Pie no better than good pub grub. Wines very pricey. Location good and menu sounds great. Best bit was the company and ice cream. Looking for an alternative.

The OQH is no longer a Salisbury pub having been sold a week or so ago. We went for Saturday lunch and were put off by piped music and a 40 minutes wait for food. We had been assured that nothing would change but I think it has. Benefit of the doubt so far but the menu was less interesting;... More

Dear Jean, My apologies I have not been able to see you in person but I thought I needed to reassure you that nothing has changed & nothing will be changing. I can only apologize that you had a wait on food and didn’t enjoy your beef bourguignon. We have always had background music and again sympathize that on your... More

Thanks to the DoggiePubs app we managed to find this lovely dog friendly pub and popped in for a bite of lunch. There are numerous water bowls for canine guests all around and the pub itself is very warm and welcoming to humans too. The staff were friendly and we were soon seated and served. I can highly recommend the... More

Lovely building and garden however, I'm paying for the food & it was expensive at £14.75 for Roast loin of pork. The food was perfectly edible but the gravy was thin & tasteless and failed to bring the meal together. Very poor value for money. Won't be going back.

We went for lunch on Monday following a recommendation from a friend. We were impressed when we went in as it was a lovely old building but spacious and with a contemporary look too. We were made welcome by the staff and served promptly. We ordered 2 open beef sandwiches which were disappointing as it was cold slices which seemed... More
