A great place for far out food

On a business trip, saw this place on tripadvisor. It's located in what felt like a residential street. Great place to have that story-worthy meal. We had the exotic steaks. They come served on black hot rocks with the meat cooking to your desired level of done-ness in front of you. If you... read more

Had we checked antecedent Trip Advisor reviews, as we should, we would have realised (from our colleague on 2/12/15) that The Sausage Tree is not the place for lunch. We didn't, and ended up paying the (top) price for sausage mediocrity and a poor lunch experience. The manager's written response (on 3/12/15) explained that lunchtimes are not his busy time... Decided to come here for graduation Dinner with 16 of us in attendance, and wasn't disappointed. The service was great and the food was even better! The atmosphere was perfect for the families that were there! The drinks were great as they had so many different beers from around the world it was amazing! The food was delicious and it... More

Visited site with friends for Xmas dinner. We chose the normal menu. Well it's not normal it's EXOTIC. it's great. Lots of crazy animals to eat. Zebra, crocodiles and many more. Felt abit sorry for the zebra as I just watched Madagascar 2 with the little ones a few days earlier. I had the hot rocks with fillet and zebra... More

Arrived after booking a table the previous day to find the table wasn't ready and the member of staff seemed somewhat clueless about such a booking. Sat at out unlaid table for 20 minutes before someone came over to take a drinks order. After the drinks arrived we took it upon ourselves to get our own menus from the bar.... More

The staff are very attentive with a sense of urgency. Boerwors isn't quite braai standard but a good effort. Real ale is crisp and clear, you can tell they take good care of their lines. Will definitely come back again, a great atmosphere.

Perfect venue for my son's birthday meal, very warm welcome and great atmosphere. The menu suited everyone - My son loved the wide choice of meats and a big "Thank You" to Zach who expertly guided him through the choices and made a very tasty recommendation! I am not a big meat eater but the menu more than catered for... More

We visited last night for a family meal which we booked in advance. We were told they had 'sold out' of starters and they only had bread and olives! we were told they had a busy week so had sold out of food and hadnt been able to order any more in. So we ate our bread and olives. We... More

Never been so horrified by the appalling level of service. Just a few things to mention were... Multiple flies in a drink, when asked for some more bread with a sharing starter the waitress brought it over in her hands (not acceptable), missing vegetables off one of the plates of food, the Yorkshire puddings and potatoes were clearly aunt Bessie's...
