Fun trying a range of exotic sausages

For a group night out its a great place to start. As well as down to earth food, there are oodles of different sausages to taste. And then there is a great range of bottled beers to compliment the meal.

We have been going to The Sausage Tree for many years. What was really nice was the large list of sausages (about 50) on offer, from all sorts of sources, wild and farmed; together with the extremely long list of foreign bottled beers (well over 100). Then they introduced the 'hot rock' steaks, including many exotic meats - and we... More

I can't recommend this restaurant, over priced, poor service, setting ok, food mediocre. But the service... for what we paid for was appalling. I won't go back, sorry. Pub service for premium prices...

Had a really lovely meal here with a group of friends. Staff were friendly, polite and extremely helpful. I went for the small exotic platter and it was wonderful, full of flavour. The idea of cooking your meat yourself is great.! You can cook it just to your taste. Staff explained the 'rules' of cooking on the rocks which is... More

Ok... so let's not be too harsh, the staff are friendly but not very helpful. I went with friends and we ordered different meat to try between us. We asked for recommendations and were told that no one eats the food. The atmosphere was dead and lifeless like the food. The food wasn't great, lots of similar tasting meat, just... More

So, a Sausage Tree that no longer sells sausages - disappointment number 1. What is left is a menu that relies on steaks and "hot rocks" - basically something that requires no chef's skill at all because they supply some raw meat and a hot stone for the customer to cook it on. Tried the fish and chips - straight... More

Loved my evening here at the Sausage tree. It has a really cool vibe and I love the idea of the hot rocks. Such a large range of different exotic meats but I went for the fillet steak which was exquisite! Ok so its the Sausageless tree but you can get sausages anywhere. My steak was one of the best... I recently visited the Sausage Tree with my fiancée for lunch. Our waitress was very attentive and personal in her approach (not at all robotic like some). The restaurant is nicely decorated in Australian memorabilia and has an exotic feel to it. I opted for a 8oz Sirlion steak, whilst my fiancée went with the Grilled Halloumi & Vegetable Skewers... Used to love this place but haven't been for a couple of years....went recently for a friends birthday looking forward to some delicious sausage and mash.....but they've stopped selling sausages?? The notion fails me - surely the name is against logic!!! I had a good steak nevertheless but this venue has lost its sparkle. Service has always been a bit... More

We want at 730 and found that there was only a main course available, ie no starters and no dessert. . There was NO vegetarian option available, only 1 portion of onion rings , no ribs, no sausages and only a very small range of beers . It still came to £180 for four of us for a night out... More
