Came here for a family get together.Twelve hungry diners and a plate for a fiver menu. Not such a bargain when the menu board stated that the only vegetarian option was butternut and cashew burger , then we were told after 6 of the party had ordered the burger, that an error had been made and it was actually butternut... A great place for a traditional pub lunch and drinks... quite a walk from the city centre, taking us a good 20minutes to get there! The food is okay, I've had better but my boyfriend claims it was the best Sunday Roast he has ever had and he used to be a chef so the experience is completely personal. Very... More

Went there last week with a Groupon and agree with earlier comment that it wasn't Rib Eye as stated. Both steaks were perfectly cooked but so tough ! We were hungry so ate and left. Shame - the staff were friendly, nice atmosphere and would probably gone back if not for those steaks..... What should have been a bargain and an... More

A great place to eat in. A great range of food all really good value in a lovely city pub. We ate at lunchtime with a football special served on Bristol City match days. Staff friendly and children made welcome. My favourite pub to eat in.

We chanced upon this pub looking for somewhere to eat and fill time before we needed to be at the airport. The food was really lovely. The music was laid back and chilled and the staff were really nice and helpful. If we lived near we'd be regular visitors. The carrot, peanut and ginger burger was fab (and I'm a... More

Visited using a Groupon Voucher, 4 rib-eye steaks +wine deal. Were met by very pleasant staff, seated in a nice spot and ordered food. When it arrived it was a real plate full, really nice Steak, loads of skinny fries, nice salad served with mushrooms and a fried tomato. In all, a great evening from start to finish, nothing whatsoever... More

I was promised this would be the best roast dinner in Bristol, and am pleased to say it lived up to it's acclaim. If you want a fancy roast, with chantenay carrots and a jus on the side, you're better off going elsewhere. However, if you want a generous, no-frills, delicious roast like you'd make at home then the Rose... More

I hate to write a bad review however I was so appalled by our two ribeye steaks that I had to! The price was good as we bought a voucher on Groupon however the steak was awful! Was supposed to be a ribeye looked more like a rump! Not cooked how I asked it to be with greasy mushrooms slapped... More
