Lovely lunch

We visited on the spur of the moment as the previous pubs we visited did not serve lunch after 2.30 - the staff here were welcoming and friendly and the food very nice - harira soup followed by whole John Dory with saffron potatoes ! Interesting decor and eclectic furniture. The menu was broad and... read more

We have had amazing food at this place but the last couple of meals have been disappointing. Went for Sunday lunch when our friends finished work and in all fairness we hadn't booked as they didn't know what time they would finish for the day. It was just after 5pm when we got there. We arrived and asked if they... More

The Rose of Denmark is a great, homey pub with friendly staff and good food. Their Burger Night on Thursdays (£10 for a burger and a pint) is one of our favorites and the desserts are always amazing! Definitely worth a trip!

As per the title, the food is excellent, imaginative and inexpensive, all in a lovely traditional pub setting. Try the ploughmans, it's brilliant and has so much choice! You have to book in advance for the Sunday Roasts (three meat is the one to have if you're hungry!) it's very popular. Knocks the nearby Ashton into the proverbial cocked hat... More

Went into the Rose of Denmark yesterday and ordered lunch ,£9.99 ,decided on the three meat option of beef ,lamb and chicken for an extra £2.00.After a forty minute wait our food was served and all I can say is that it was absolutely atrocious. The chicken was a tiny drumstick ,the slice of lamb was all fat and the miniscule... My husband and I had a lovely roast dinner here, not for the first time. However the chef decided to mix mustard in with the swede and carrots - I hate mustard, so this ruined the veg for me and consequently the overall dinner. Who would think to ask if there would be mustard in with the veg? Strange. Would... More

Feeling very lazy on a Sunday afternoon and decided at the last minute to have a good old traditional Sunday roast out. Well , we were very impressed with the dining experience here. The roast was great with what seemed to be fresh vegetables and lots of gravy. Staff were very quick and the whole afternoon was very pleasant indeed.mwould... More

I booked Sunday lunch for the family, spending 10 minutes on the telephone explaining and clarifying my requirements, specifically asking for a table on ground level with no stairs involved, only to arrive to find that we had been allocated a table in the basement!! The barman was quite rude and seemed to think I was simple when I asked... More

A delicious Sunday lunch that was plentiful and tasty. Service was good. Would definitely head back here when I am in Bristol.

Staff greeted us with smiling faces, we were offered to sample the beer/cider before purchase, food was fresh and homemade and was delicious. You could tell nothing was microwaved and prices were very reasonable. I can honestly say it was one of the best pubs I have ever eaten at. Thank you RoD!
