I have been an admirer of this restaurant for many years and have never been disappointed. The decor and ambience are tasteful and elegant, but also relaxed. Service is efficient and courteous without being fussy or over-familiar. But for me the most important aspect of any restaurant is always the food, and here too Kathmandu does not fail to deliver.... The food here is seriously delicious. Mild, mellow blends of spices. Lots of choice for Vegetarians and really reasonable prices. Staff are absolutely lovely. Really pleasant and friendly, genuine Nepalese warmth and welcome.

Decided to try this on a Saturday evening and we were very pleased with our food. I was very boring and decided to have a tikka masala but it was definitely the tastiest I have ever had! My partner had a Nepalese dish and loved it too. One member of staff was very friendly and made sure everything was okay.... More

We are avid lovers of Indian food and wherever we go are always keen to seek out a good local restaurant. This was recommended at the tourist information centre and when we arrived at about 6pm we were the only customers. The waiter was efficient but not particularly friendly. I decided to select from the Nepalese section but unfortunately it... More

Been a few years since I was last here but went back last night with some colleagues. Restaurant was busy but the service was friendly, prompt and professional - just where many busy restaurants fail not here! - would recommend Kathmandu and the kirtipur (hope the spellings ok!)

Went into a local shop and got chatting as we had never been to Bristol before. We asked them where to go and they said go to The Duke pub for Jazz music and this restaurant for food. Both were amazing. Never tried Nepalese cuisine before, so why not. The girl serving couldn't have been more cute, attentive or helpful.... More

Visited mid week, early evening with a work colleague. Quite empty and fairly large venue. Food was certainly better than a bog standard curry house, the meals having good fresh flavours. Reasonable value. The waiter serving wasn't the most cheerful man in the world, but was efficient. Would probably say 3.5 rather than 4 but an enjoyable meal.

The food is superb with a tasty combination of spices used. They can cater for any intolerances as long as they know and are wiling to alter dishes to suit. According to my dining partner the Nepalese speciality dish is delicious and worth travelling to taste.

My second visit here and was very pleased again with the quality and quantity of the food. The service was very prompt and the staff keen to please. My food which was five different sorts of meat was served up on a sizzling plate and was great. I would like to see more distinctly Nepalese dishes on the menu as... More

Read good reviews on here thought I would try the Indian because I wasn't from the area. Sat down popadoms came which wasn't the best to start as soon as we finished main dishes came which personally though the meat in the dishes was cheap really chewy and wasn't cooked right through garlic naan was crap and to top it...
