Best vegetarian in Bristol

Maitreya never fails. I've had dinner here 5-6 times and the food and service are always 5 star quality! A bit of a shame, though, that it's a cab drive away from the city centre as I would dine here more if it was closer to where I live. However, it is worth the cab drive/public transport... read more

What a lovely place! Very friendly and laid back, great staff and a great atmosphere which came naturally. The food was lovely - very very tasty, interesting, well-done vegetarian. While it was wholesome, it didn't come across like that at all - it was just excellent food and better than most vegetarian places we've been to. Good sized portions too... More

I went to Maitreya Social with friends who have been before and highly recommended it to me. As a vegetarian I always appreciate any menu in which I can anything. We visited on a Sunday and I had the best Sunday roast I've ever had. The cheese and butternut squash strudel was beautiful it was served with lots of different... More

We dined here on Friday evening - what a stunning experience! It is rather hidden away and our taxi driver had not heard of it, but it is located at a small intersection with a variety of interesting restaurants on each corner. The food was glorious: we started with brussel sprout tempura and horseradish & fava bean pate; followed by... More

When a business colleague offered to take a group of us out to lunch but asked for suggestions I took the chance to pick a vegetarian restaurant. It was a high risk strategy as I was the only veggie and I'd never been to Maitreya Social before but I shouldn't have worried. While the choice on the lunch menu wasn't... More

Four of us non vegetarians went for a meal at Maitra & although I wasn't bowled over with food I found it very good in presentation, quality & flavours. The menu is short & a bit pricey but I can only guess that all the ingredients are fresh, organic & local, service was excellent & the venue is spotless &... More

This is the second time I've been here and I will be back again. The food is absolutely amazing - the flavours and presentation can't really be improved on and it certainly deserves to be the 11th best restaurant to eat in Bristol (or even higher!). Not being a vegetarian I must admit the first time I came here I... More

Usually excellent, always good. Experimentation and innovation will mean the occasional not-so-successful dish
