We are a family run authentic moroccan bistro on the wells road between totter down and knowle. Established 10 years ago we operate on a B.Y.O basis allowing the customer to bring the tipple of their choice. We use traditional moroccan recipes from tagines to meshwi and relax in the moroccan bedouin seating or the more traditional bistro seating. We can cater for large groups and belly dancing can be arranged. So come and enjoy a taste of morocco in Bristol. AS WITH ALL TRADITIONAL MOROCCAN RECIPES TAGINES DO TAKE A WHILE TO COOK SO WE WOULD NOT BE CONSIDERED FAST FOOD

Dinner for two

Always brilliant food and friendly service. While not an extensive menu, it is varied enough to enjoy regular visits. There is always a warm friendly welcome and the atmosphere there is always positive. I have been going there for a number of years and have never been dissapointed. The belly... read more

Well I am quite late to write this review but but better late than never.... my friend took me and my boyfriend here and I was really fascinated with the atmosphere and music.... I really loved the cosy feeling and not the conscious feeling when going somewhere for the first time. We loved the food and it was such a... More

Best 'couscous' I have ever eaten in England. The place is worth going as the owner is extremely friendly and the price is reasonable. N.B. The 'couscous' was as good as my mother.

First time here with my partner, not the sort of place we would normally try but we're happy we did! Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious. Lovely atmosphere, will definitely be back!

Myself and my partner went on a Saturday evening to celebrate an occasion. We were sat at 9pm and told we will be seen in 10 mins. 25 mins later the young waitress comes over to take our order and looks at us puzzled and says "oh you don't have menus or drinks". We were then given menus and 5... More

Myself and my partner visited Assilah Bistro Wednesday evening - enjoyed olives, falafels and each and a lamb dish for main. Bought our own wine too. Had a fantastic time, great atmosphere and friendly service with a smile. Makes you feel like you're in your own private moroccan sanctuary!

We went to Assilah this evening with a groupon voucher after having read some reviews here. From the first welcome we knew we were in for a treat. The seating with lots of cushions is so comfortable with good music and atmosphere. But the real treat was the food - beautifully cooked and lots of it. My wife and I... More

Secret den of amazing food! We have lived locally for a year and chanced upon Assilah Bistro for the first time this evening, were very, very impressed. Reasonably priced, exceptionally tasty and filling food. Best meal we've had in ages. (We had vegetarian and meat dishes.) Brilliant service, especially considering lone waitress, who was really friendly and genuine. There is... More
