We are a family run authentic moroccan bistro on the wells road between totter down and knowle. Established 10 years ago we operate on a B.Y.O basis allowing the customer to bring the tipple of their choice. We use traditional moroccan recipes from tagines to meshwi and relax in the moroccan bedouin seating or the more traditional bistro seating. We can cater for large groups and belly dancing can be arranged. So come and enjoy a taste of morocco in Bristol. We went to Assilah on a groupon voucher this week. The food and choice was excellent for the price and the atmosphere and service was also very good. The added bonus of being able to take your own wine made this a very reasonable evening! Having said that, we plan to go again whether or not on a voucher as... More

This restaurant is beautifully decorated in the morrocan/bedowin style and very atmospheric. The food was magnificent, tasted lovely and the portion sizes were great. You can bring your own wine/drinks which is really nice. The lady running Assilah is very welcoming, leaving the whole restaurant with a resounding 10/10

We had a really good meal hear. The staff are very friendly and helpful. You have to take your own wine or beer, which is a bit different. There is a co op store just round the corner, so if you run out you can easily get some more. Overall a really good find and would definitely go back.

My partner and I were looking for some where new to eat and we googled places to eat in Bristol and Assilah Bistro came up, it had great reviews so we thought we would give it a go. It was sadly fully booked. However, the next day, we couldn't believe our luck when a groupon deal came on for a... More

I celebrated my 65th birthday at Assilah with about 25 friends and family. We had the casual seating area to ourselves and had arranged for a selection of dishes to be brought out for all to share during the course of the evening. Those that I tried were all delicious. It's BYO but despite this we were provided with lots... More

We called up at 7pm on a Saturday hoping to get a table at Assilah having enjoyed eating here before. Despite being fully booked on paper, the Manager went out of her way to call us back when she had a group not show up and a table become free. Food was great as always - and reasonably priced but... Out of the main Bristol scene, this intimate space overcame the lack of heating to provide a very tasty Moroccan meal in an atmosphere where people could chat and share the experience.

We have wanted to visit this bistro for a long time and a Groupon voucher made us go. Owner made us very welcome and food was delicious. Plenty of it and very fresh and hot. Decor was lovely and authentic. BYO worked well for us and corkage is very reasonable. Can't say more really other than we will be back... More
