Description: We are a family run authentic moroccan bistro on the wells road between totter down and knowle. Established 10 years ago we operate on a B.Y.O basis allowing the customer to bring the tipple of their choice. We use traditional moroccan recipes from tagines to meshwi and relax in the moroccan bedouin seating or the more traditional bistro seating. We can cater for large groups and belly dancing can be arranged. So come and enjoy a taste of morocco in Bristol. AS WITH ALL TRADITIONAL MOROCCAN RECIPES TAGINES DO TAKE A WHILE TO COOK SO WE WOULD NOT BE CONSIDERED FAST FOOD

Never thought of going to a Moroccan restaurant before as we're fussy with what we eat, but after going with a few friends would highly recommend. The food was fantastic and the service was great will defiantly be going again.

Visited Assilah with a voucher from amazon local - food was tasty, really loved the traditional decor (although wooden-bench style seating slightly uncomfortable - could do with more cushions!) The owner is friendly!

Have eaten here twice in the space of weeks. Quality over quantity in terms of menu options but that works for me as I always struggle to choose! Dishes made with care. Customers treated just as well by the hostess. The Tagine was very, very tasty. The Moroccan cod was hugely satisfying. The Lamb Meshwi (steak) was authentically spiced, succulent... More

We had just moved the Son into his new flat and his girlfriend had heard of Assilah and they could take us so great. Two things to be aware if: booze is Bring Your Own (£2 corkage per bottle) and the restaurant is CASH or CHEQUE only. No cards The atmosphere was good. We sat in the more traditional part... More

I visited this restaurant with my daughter for a midweek evening meal as part of a special offer deal. I booked it as I love Moroccan food and was rather surprised to find it was owned by an English lady. She also ran the whole of the front of house alone, greeting, seating, taking orders and serving. It wasn't a... More

After having said "we must pay a visit to Assilah" for what seems like years now, we finally got around to visiting this week. From a trip to Morocco in 2012 we know that we love Moroccan food, and the food at Assilah lived up to our high expectations: we (the two of us and a guest) all chose different... More

Lovely welcome from Bridget nice intimate table as it was my birthday. Food was great authentic Moroccan with wonderful atmosphere and music. Reasonably priced, brought our own wine etc. Very busy so booking definitely advisable.

Lovely food and authentic ambience! Friendly and patient service made for a relaxed atmosphere and an enjoyable evening for us. We went as first timers because we had a voucher but will definitely be going again as we had a lovely time. BYO booze and gorgeous north African food flavours - good times!

A fantastic independent dining experience. I can't think of a negative comment to make about our recent trio to Assilah. We were the first to arrive - by the time we left the restaurant was full - so had the opportunity to sit and chat with the friendly lady owner, who was really welcoming. The food was great - tasty... More
