Price range: $16 - $24
Dining options: Breakfast/Brunch, Reservations, Late Night
Description: We are a family run authentic moroccan bistro on the wells road between totter down and knowle. Established 10 years ago we operate on a B.Y.O basis allowing the customer to bring the tipple of their choice. We use traditional moroccan recipes from tagines to meshwi and relax in the moroccan bedouin seating or the more traditional bistro seating. We can cater for large groups and belly dancing can be arranged. So come and enjoy a taste of morocco in Bristol. AS WITH ALL TRADITIONAL MOROCCAN RECIPES TAGINES DO TAKE A WHILE TO COOK SO WE WOULD NOT BE CONSIDERED FAST FOOD

Been here quite a few times as the food and place is amazing, also great value! I had a lemon and olive chicken with potatoes type thing last time, which was delicious. Would highly recommend to anyone. The seating arrangements are so lovely, I like the borderline communal feel.

I've been eating at Assilah for the best part of a decade and is one of few Bristol restaurants that I visit time and time again. It has a relaxed atmosphere and the menu is authentically Moroccan. The lamb couscous is especially good! The restaurant is a BYO and the décor and service are all excellent. Oh, and they also... More

I visited Assilah Bistro last week and had such a lovely evening. I haven't been to a Moroccan place before but I loved the rustic atmosphere and décor - it has a lovely, personal, cosy feeling. The food was great (I had the Lamb Couscous - perfectly cooked lamb and good quantity) and the service was excellent. The very friendly... More

I visited Assilah for the second time last week and I'm gutted that I won't be in Bristol now for the next year!!! I was always aware of Assilah and decided to visit a couple of months ago with my Fiancé. Since then I can't stop recommending the place. I went along with my friend this time and was not... More

Immediately felt bad for the lady/owner as she told me she was very short staffed as soon as we arrived. The place came very highly recommended so we tried it out with four of us on a Groupon deal. 1hr 25mins in we received a glass of very flat coke and a 'starter'. 2 tiny balls of falafel with a... We called up early Saturday night to try and book a table. It went to answer message, but they quickly called us back and booked us in - something we thought was highly professional. The atmosphere was lovely and, having been to Marrakech, it definitely felt like it captured the spirit of Morocco. We ordered tagines, which were both excellent... More

Never thought of going to a Moroccan restaurant before as we're fussy with what we eat, but after going with a few friends would highly recommend. The food was fantastic and the service was great will defiantly be going again.

Visited Assilah with a voucher from amazon local - food was tasty, really loved the traditional decor (although wooden-bench style seating slightly uncomfortable - could do with more cushions!) The owner is friendly!

Have eaten here twice in the space of weeks. Quality over quantity in terms of menu options but that works for me as I always struggle to choose! Dishes made with care. Customers treated just as well by the hostess. The Tagine was very, very tasty. The Moroccan cod was hugely satisfying. The Lamb Meshwi (steak) was authentically spiced, succulent... More
