Description: We are a family run authentic moroccan bistro on the wells road between totter down and knowle. Established 10 years ago we operate on a B.Y.O basis allowing the customer to bring the tipple of their choice. We use traditional moroccan recipes from tagines to meshwi and relax in the moroccan bedouin seating or the more traditional bistro seating. We can cater for large groups and belly dancing can be arranged. So come and enjoy a taste of morocco in Bristol. AS WITH ALL TRADITIONAL MOROCCAN RECIPES TAGINES DO TAKE A WHILE TO COOK SO WE WOULD NOT BE CONSIDERED FAST FOOD

we went to Assilah Bistro for the first time and had a very enjoyable experience, the resaurant was very busy, but the staff were very friendly and made every effort to ensure our visit was a good experience. The food was excellent, pipeing hot and very tasty just what was needed for one of the coldest days this year. We... More

Using the last date on our Groupon voucher we had a lovely evening out at Assilah. A very relaxing atmosphere with the music, the rugs and the low lounge and we soon chilled out on the sofa with our ‘bring your own wine’. Each of the courses we chose were fabulously cooked, wonderful to the taste buds and must say,... More

We booked into Assilah last night for a small Christmas party. Bridget and her team were very accommodating and helped with all aspects of our booking. The food was tasty and the service was very good. We were sat in the lower seating area which suited our party size and allowed us to all sit together. I will be revisiting... More

Once more back to Assilah, this time with my son, a grumpy hard to please 18yr old, was he happy? You betcha!! He said his Lamb tangine was the best lamb he'd ever tasted... High praise indeed. I'm not the slightest bit surprised by his reaction, because I know just how good this fabulous little bistro is, and keeps us... More

Visited here recently on a voucher deal and plan to go again. Nice atmosphere, lots of Moroccan rugs, cushions etc, and very friendly owners. There was only a choice of two starters and we both chose the falafels with dips, which were excellent. There was plenty of choice for the main course; I had chicken cousocus, my husband had lamb.... Another lovely meal at Assilah. Gorgeous bread and olives, tasty falafels and beautiful Kofta Tagine - one of my favourite dishes ever. Husband had his usual of the lamb stew (can't remember proper name! The Amazon local voucher is incredible value so much so that we felt embarrassed at how little it had cost us. Yes, it has been difficult... More

Been wanting to try here for a long time as when ever I read reviews this restaurant always has amazing scores, so when a voucher popped up on a social site, I grabbed it! It wasn't easy trying to book a table as there is only a mobile number available, I left 2 voicemails and no one called me back,... More

Visited Assilah as a spontaneous family meal. Had seen the outside and thought it looked interesting. I was extremely impressed. The inside was beautiful decorated and the perfect size for atmosphere but whilst being cosy. The food was absolutely delicious and presented well. Portions were quite big too! The vegetarian option - which i had was really really lovely, sometimes... More
