Description: We are a family run authentic moroccan bistro on the wells road between totter down and knowle. Established 10 years ago we operate on a B.Y.O basis allowing the customer to bring the tipple of their choice. We use traditional moroccan recipes from tagines to meshwi and relax in the moroccan bedouin seating or the more traditional bistro seating. We can cater for large groups and belly dancing can be arranged. So come and enjoy a taste of morocco in Bristol. AS WITH ALL TRADITIONAL MOROCCAN RECIPES TAGINES DO TAKE A WHILE TO COOK SO WE WOULD NOT BE CONSIDERED FAST FOOD

Lovely welcome from Bridget nice intimate table as it was my birthday. Food was great authentic Moroccan with wonderful atmosphere and music. Reasonably priced, brought our own wine etc. Very busy so booking definitely advisable.

Lovely food and authentic ambience! Friendly and patient service made for a relaxed atmosphere and an enjoyable evening for us. We went as first timers because we had a voucher but will definitely be going again as we had a lovely time. BYO booze and gorgeous north African food flavours - good times!

A fantastic independent dining experience. I can't think of a negative comment to make about our recent trio to Assilah. We were the first to arrive - by the time we left the restaurant was full - so had the opportunity to sit and chat with the friendly lady owner, who was really welcoming. The food was great - tasty... More

A chance came up last night to join a few friends dinning at assilah bistrol. Lucky for us our friends got there in time as me and my wife were a little behind time, on the menu it states that they reserve the right to cancel booking if you're more than 20 minutes late. Lucky for us the owner chef... More

This is the first time we have been to Assilah Bistro. All I can say, is that it is a hidden gem. Amazing food, service and atmosphere. Will be back for more.

This is not the first time we have been to Assilah and will certainly not be the last. On a Tuesday eve around 8.45 the bistro was not busy but that does in no way, effect the atmosphere and ambience of this great bistro. We sat outside in the last of the sun, pouring over the menu and supping our... More

I had purchased a voucher for this restaurant based on recommendations from colleagues. Had booked the previous evening with an abrupt and brusque telephone call and was not given an opportunity to quote the voucher deal. When we arrived we were told we could not use it because we had not told them in advance. We decided to stay as... More

We would never have known about this place but for a voucher deal but it was a really good find. The decor is lovely and different to what we are used to and the seating is what makes the place unique. The food was very good and authentic but the downside was the slow service. We waited about 20 minutes... More

We waited an hour for our first course and the place seemed completely understaffed. After so long on the low seating I felt quite uncomfortably like I has been folded in two. I would opt for the standard seating next time or learn yoga first..... My vegetarian tagine was unremarkable and very mild, but my friends who had lamb and... More

Hi there thankyou for taking he time to write a review. Unfortunately when tables are late arriving this has a knock on effect in the kitchen which can leads to extending waiting times as late tables move down the table list we have taken on board your comments referring to your tagine and have made adjustments to the recipe. As... More

My boyfriend's mum got him a voucher for his birthday. He kindly took me along to enjoy the authentic atmosphere and grub. The food is really fab, and the restaurant has a really relaxed feel to it.
