Hurrah - the Watershed is one of the few places that treats vegetarians like human beings - actually offers them choices on the menu. The food is good quality, well cooked, very tasty but also unfussy and unpretentious. I like the sustainability of their suppliers too, though more organic produce would be great. Their vegetarian breakfast is one of the... More

Planned to have dinner at the Watershed Cafe before seeing a film. Arrived at the restaurant at 7:30pm to find that four items from the menu/specials were no longer available. The remaining selection was so limited that we had to go elsewhere to eat. This management of this cafe needs to improve to ensure that a decent selection of food... More

Dear luvhothols Thank you for taking time to write your review and apologies that not all of our menu was available when you visited on a busy Saturday night. After investigating with the kitchen we found that we were short of one dish the Loch Durant Salmon and that we were selling the burger minus bap as we had run... More

This was a visit made on spec on 30 December and the place was hosting plenty of young families but still managed to maintain a good, calm atmosphere and to seem remarkably un-busy. The menu was varied and creative - and despite that the pulled pork had run out (unfortunately we timed the visit between butchers' visits), there were very... More

Food is good and advertised as sustainably, and locally sourced. I have been coming here for years, mostly for the fringe cinema; and have a meal first. I recommend this place to all. Only suggestion I would make is that they promote Organic a bit more, as I noticed they have changed some suppliers to the detriment of sustainability.

Like a student bar. Big, wooden and very dark. Staff a bit robotic. Drinks expensive. The barman who served me gave me two glasses of red when I ordered one glass of red and one pint of Amstel! Menus I couldn't read. Menus themselves were grubby. Toilets the same. Ambience the only good thing to say about this place.

Dear Fox555 Thank you for your review and I'm very sorry to hear that you couldn't read the menu and had a less than perfect experience. Apologies too that you were served the wrong drink, we don't serve Amstel here. We have also just refurbished our Men's toilets and so I'm sad to hear that you found them grubby. Thanks... More

Yes, good venue, pleasant and comfortable well organised with friendly and helpful staff. We were there to see the Turner film and found that, on a busy night, the seating arrangements and film showing all worked extremely well.

I went here with my daughter for lunch. It's upstairs, part of the cinema building, with a high ceiling and woody feel. You order at the bar and they bring the food to your table. It was quite busy at lunchtime, but we got a table OK. We ordered steak from the daily special and a mediterranean meze platter. The... More

Delicious! Try the quinoa balls (vegan) -- I don't know WHAT they put in that sauce but it's amazing! Goes well with the chips ;)

I regularly visit here with work colleagues for lunch. The menu is reasonably varied, with ingredients locally sourced. Every day there are specials of pasta, risotto and other main dishes, and during the week they do smaller portions for a £5 lunch deal. A good hideout with a relaxed atmosphere.
