We stumbled on the Townhouse quite by accident as we were specifically heading for somewhere else that Sunday lunchtime. However, on passing by the wonderful aromas of roast dinner drew us in from the street and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is simply decorated and gives air to a relaxed dining atmosphere. Plenty of loud chatter and varied conversations... More

You can't beat 3 course for £18 or £10 before 7pm! The hangar steak with skinny chips were lovely. I guess the only downer was the very limited desert menu?

Took relatives from the USA to The Townhouse today for sunday lunch as we claimed " it was the best in town" might have to change my opinion. starter of mushroom on brioche was the usual great standard......however it went downhill from there......the veg was stone cold and there wasnt alot for 6 people....roast pots were black and over cooked... Went for a late lunch on a Tuesday. I have to say the food was quite good, but the service let down the experience. In all, it took us almost 2 hours for 3 courses. Maybe they had a bad day, but I won't go back to try them again.

We love this place, regular visitors in fact! For just £10 you get to choose from a reasonable menu and have 3 courses. Nicely presented food and a good wine selection. Also good for twists on the menu, for example they do a mushroom & truffle starter on brioche bread, all good, but personally we find the briche too sweet... More

We popped in for an impromptu lunch a few weeks ago and as usual struggled to chose from the menu as we wanted everything! In the end we chose and shared between us! Glad to see the Mushrooms back on the menu.. My first choice to recommend to friends and still top choice in Bristol

Came in just to fill some time and eat before work. 3 courses for £10 took my eye! Starter: rare beef on dripping toast. Rare beef wasn't really rare and resembled slices of beef from a carvery, served on fried bread with few caper and home made horseradish. Tasted good however but not really how it sounded on menu. Main:... More

A total surprise, we were late for Sunday lunch at 3pm, but the staff assured us that food was served all day. We ordered off the 3 course meal for £10. The first course was good, the main meal steaks were cooked to perfection & so tasty, with crisp skinny fries and the desserts amazing. The 3 courses were perfect and... More

A good evening out, good food, busy but the service was decent and friendly staff. We opted mainly for beef and pheasant for the mains which were well cooked. I had pea soup which was perfection, the feat of the starters were much enjoyed. The puddings are worth fitting in!
