Dining options: Breakfast/Brunch, Dinner, Reservations, Late Night
Description: The Old Bookshop is a small, eclectic cafe/bar that serves good food at a fair price. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. The walls are covered in old photographs, typewriters and curiosities. The menu is written on a blackboard, and you order at the bar. Your meal will be served on vintage mismatched china. Don't expect a stuffy restaurant, we are just a quirky little bar that does great food! We recently added a cocktail bar with the most delicious cocktails imaginable.

Been wanting to go to this place for an age, and finally went there last weekend with some friends who were visiting. The decor is quirky and eclectic and kept us entertained for the duration: discovering nooks and crannies and the weird and wonderful. We ordered 2 full English breakfasts and 1 eggs royale and the service was friendly, efficient... More

Been here dozens of times. We're so happy having it just round the corner from our house :-) It's a small quirky bar that does amazing food, and an ever expanding selection of drinks. The staff are awesome and the foods been consistently great since day one. Music choice is always good too (that's important!) If you're on north st,... More

My husband and I have visited this cafe / bar several times. We even had a "wake" there which was handled very sensitively. The cakes are delicious and generous and the coffee is top quality. We love the atmosphere and quirky / fun decor. Staff always pleasant and friendly

We found our way to The Old Bookshop via a music event we wanted to attend which took place on a saturday afternoon, and which was surprisingly well attended for a non-evening gig. The venue is located south of the city centre, in Bedminster though it's easily reached via the 24 bus which stops nearby and travels between here and... More

We went here for breakfast at the weekend, we were very impressed by the good quality food, polite staff and general atmosphere. The food was a little bit late coming from the kitchen but the staff apologised in advance and knocked 10% off the bill. I had the eggs Bedminster which were fantastic and I think they deep fry the... More
