The Old Bookshop is a small, eclectic cafe/bar that serves good food at a fair price. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. The walls are covered in old photographs, typewriters and curiosities. The menu is written on a blackboard, and you order at the bar. Your meal will be served on vintage mismatched china. Don't expect a stuffy restaurant, we are just a quirky little bar that does great food! We recently added a cocktail bar with the most delicious cocktails imaginable.

Best meal i've had in the last year if not longer

Excellently well developed menu, brilliantly designed dishes. I had a perfectly cooked fillet of salmon served with a curried cauliflower puree and spiced lentils, tried some of the home made gnocci which was absolutely spotless as well. Lovely atmosphere, great food worth a visit all day long

Me and my family have been customers at the Bookshop since day one, the food has always been brilliant and a fail-safe choice for a family meal or quick dinner. So we were more than excited when it was announced that the food side of the Bookshop would be changing to a guest chef/pop up style. The new menu has... More

Visited today to meet some friends - there were no tables free and all tables were reserved, so we sat in their lovely norticale garden. Which had blankets and a wood burner so we really didn't feel the cold. After a few hours a table became free so we decided to have lunch. The nut roast, and lamb were lovely... More

Been here a few times and every time I go I get great service from friendly staff. Foods always top notch and the drinks selection has something for every one. Always has something unusual and interesting going on and they guarantee you'll never have a dull moment.

A fantastic place to start or finish an evening. Great food, lovely staff, and a manager with, quite frankly, the best beard in Bristol.

North street is full of great places to eat and it is so good to have more at the Bedminster end of the road. The Old Book shop does not disappoint. We have been twice once for breakfast, the food was delicious and there were many option from large to small to cater for all appetites and hangovers. The second... More

Sunday lunches are delightful. And always served with a smile from the great staff. Weekday dinners are just as good and their movie night is lots of fun. One of the best places in Bristol - we love it here

Awesome Sunday Roast! Stupidly good VFM weher you have the standalone Roast, or combine it with a Starter &/or Dessert. The standard menu is just as good. If you haven't been, what on earth are you waiting for!

Not the first time I've enjoyed an afternoon at the 'Bookshop and definitely won't be the last. Service is always on point and the food is deliciously well-made.

First visit since the extension..the place looks great. Friendly and helpful staff as ever. In my opinion the food and menu isn't as wonderful as it was year or so ago. Chunks of cucumber and Tomato with bagged lettuce leaves formed a non event side salad/garnish and tinned chicken in the chicken stew?! Lamb kebabs were delic and tortilla was... More
