Great beer, nice food and an excellent view

We came here after a long day moving, it was a much needed rest. They served some of Bristol beer factories finest, I had a green tea infused ale aptly named Japan which was scrumptious. The pies there was lovely, large portions and very flavourful. Make sure to get a seat by the bow of the boat... read more

We popped in here on Sunday on the off-chance there would be a table free and we were in luck. There was a great mix of families, couples and friends. We had the pork belly which was perfectly cooked and the best we have ever tasted. Service was excellent too with all servers being friendly and helpful. The cider was... More

We lunched here on a lovely sunny day with our 11 month old and had a lovely time. Pram access isn't too difficult with 4-5 steps to negotiate. Numerous plastic IKEA highchairs are available which is a great touch cleanliness-wise. The food is good gastropub stuff. The beef shin pie was great, encased in wonderfully moist, buttery shortcrust. The burger... More

The food on the Grain Barge has really excelled lately. Their Sunday Roasts are incredibly flavourful, with generous portions. The desserts are also straddling gastro without the pomp. We went back to eat there after and excellent roast to try their weekday food and were not disappointed! I have a chicken and ham hock pie with mash that was full... More

We used to be regulars untill last year. Loved their Pie with sweet potatos, blue cheese, mushrooms and chicken with a very nice sauce all on top. Last Sunday we had it and was very disappointed. No chicken anymore, no sauce anymore, smaller pie and tasteless. I don't know why they changed it but I would suggest to go back... More

I've been to the grain barge many times and had a great time, on my last visit however myself and a friend decided to get some food. The food isn't cheap, but it is very nice, in fact everything about our visit was great, except that is, for the unbelievably terrible and not to mention rude service. Our food was... More

Lovely visit for lunch, just before it filled up. Good came quickly. These are not your standard Bird's Eye fish fingers, oh no, these a mega fish fillets in luxurious batter on ciabatta. Wow. Everyone else had good food. V friendly and efficient. Magnificent views up the floating harbour in Bristol.

Been here a few times. Lovely setting, up on open deck, sun trap, views of harbour, sailing boats and Ashton Court off in distance. First time eaten here last night and bar staff v.friendly and helpful also chef, accommodating gluten and dairy free meal request... Good value chicken salad with seeds and pine nuts. Thank you.
