Lovely pies!

The food was great (we all had pies but the other things wet saw looked fab too). It was very busy so you need to be willing to wait. The only negative was that the lager was pretty flat and the wine a little warm.

Last night we decided to try out the Grain Barge to celebrate some good news. Initially we had a beer on the deck of the boat - with a fabulous view of the boats & rowers on the water. Lovely. We ate inside in the bar - good food that was tasty and filling. All the bar/waiting staff were friendly... More

I have been here several times for drinks and its a great place especially if the sun is shining and you can get a seat on the top deck and watch the world go by. Last Sunday I booked a table as several people had recommended their Sunday lunch. I am afraid the Sunday lunch was possibly one of the... More

Ordered the steak sandwich -place wasn't busy, but waited an hour and food then came cold -they replaced it but then came cold again. Bread was dry. It was so smothered in English mustard it was really a very very hot mustard sandwich- it was impossible to taste anything else - and I normally like hot food. My partner had... More

Set right in the harbour there is always something to see on the river. The SS Great Britain is just across the harbour. The restaurant has loads of character and worked out perfectly for us. Food is good, not great and priced about right. I still think that £9 for a hamburger is expensive but it seems the norm in... More

We went here twice recently. First time was for lunch and the sandwiches were really lovely. Second time was during the evening and we had pies, which were also really nice. It's great to sit out on the top deck when the weather is nice and enjoy the harbour. My husband says the beers were good too. So overall, a... More

We came here after a long day moving, it was a much needed rest. They served some of Bristol beer factories finest, I had a green tea infused ale aptly named Japan which was scrumptious. The pies there was lovely, large portions and very flavourful. Make sure to get a seat by the bow of the boat for an excellent... More

We popped in here on Sunday on the off-chance there would be a table free and we were in luck. There was a great mix of families, couples and friends. We had the pork belly which was perfectly cooked and the best we have ever tasted. Service was excellent too with all servers being friendly and helpful. The cider was... More

We lunched here on a lovely sunny day with our 11 month old and had a lovely time. Pram access isn't too difficult with 4-5 steps to negotiate. Numerous plastic IKEA highchairs are available which is a great touch cleanliness-wise. The food is good gastropub stuff. The beef shin pie was great, encased in wonderfully moist, buttery shortcrust. The burger... More

The food on the Grain Barge has really excelled lately. Their Sunday Roasts are incredibly flavourful, with generous portions. The desserts are also straddling gastro without the pomp. We went back to eat there after and excellent roast to try their weekday food and were not disappointed! I have a chicken and ham hock pie with mash that was full... More
