You get a walk along Bristol's harbour to build up an appetite; the restaurant/bar is on an old barge moored in the harbour; full of character and very friendly; was busy on the Wednesday evening we went. Can sit inside or on the upper deck.Serves mostly locally sourced food which is fair trade and organic where possible. I had the... More

My family and I all decided to have the special last night which was chicken with paprika potatoes and salsa verde. It was absolutely delicious and was beautifully presented. As I run my own catering business and we cook a lot at home. Last nights meal was one of the best meals I have had in years. The staff on... More

Have been here three times now and overall had very good experiences! The service is good and waiters are friendly and attentive, the atmosphere is lovely although the food a little hit or miss, with one delicious fish pie followed by a fairly average one on our second visit. Overall would definitely recommend as a reasonably priced restaurant with generally... More

The Grain Barge is fast becoming a local of mine as a new resident of Bristol! At the quieter end of the Harbourside on Hotwells Rd it provides a lovely location to sit out in the sunshine on top deck or get cosy on a squishy sofa downstairs. Good wholesome food (pls note they don't serve food between 4 &... More

I organised a surprise party for my wife's 60th at the Grain Barge earlier this month and, I have to say, they couldn't have been more helpful. The buffet was good and went down well with our guests. The band (The First Raitt Band) were brilliant and got everyone dancing. Our friends and family ensured that over £1,000 was spent... More

I don't usually like to go to pubs for meals, but the barge is quite exceptional . Food is really good , staff really friendly and it has a great atmosphere .they have a real chef that likes to get creative at times and comes up with some pretty interesting quality specials .

Recently discovered the grain barge and although I live 35 miles away now look forward to making this a regular haunt. The beer is some of the best particularly the Sunrise. Staff helpful and views to die for.

The food here is a reliable meal. I had a roast the last time and it was ok. Although you're much better off going on other days when the food is always really good. The beer, I'm told, is excellent. The views and the atmosphere are second to none.
