Bright and colourful, the Souk Kitchen on North Street is a vibrant eatery that has brought a brand new style of dining to the Bristol restaurant scene. Encouraging people to share and to try new things, the menu at the Souk Kitchen is filled with small plates, mezze, dips, tagines, salads and grill dishes that are inspired by the traditional souks of Damascus, Marrakech and Beirut. Created using aromatic produce such as preserved lemons, tahini, honey and orange blossom, this is a stellar, moreish menu that you and your family and friends will love. The dcor at the Souk Kitchen is an eclectic mix of candy-coloured wallpaper and shelves stacked with ingredients including couscous, saffron and rosewater.

Exceptional

We were recommended Souk kitchen by a shop keeper in Clifton, and thought we'd give it a try on the Sat evening. The place was very nice, but quite low key, in a nice way. I had heard that Souk Kitchen was really good from friends, and finally visited recently. The food was great, fresh tasty ingredients, spiced well, and the menu offers things I wouldn't cook at home. Staff are friendly and seem to know the menu really well. Anyone in the area should pop in.

Went to the Souk Kitchen with friends after a recommendation. The menu choices weren't huge in number but that wasn't a problem as we all found something we liked, along with a Specials Board. Service was pretty good though I do agree with other reviews that two people covering the whole restaurant can lead to delays and the staff were... More

Loved eating at this place, as its very difficult to find a decent Med place to eat at! I always have hummus with the nan bread that it comes with, nicely decorated which is a change to the usual hummus we get in other places. I had a mix grill which was very tasty and had a lot of flavour,... More

Gorgeous food. had dips and haloumi for starter. 3 dips -not just the usual babba ganoush and hummus but some really unusual ones - and delicious. opted for a main rather than mezze. very nice - Lebanese chicken skewers. good value too. service was good (not outstanding, but good). only downside really for me was the wine list which was... The range of middle-eastern and north-African dishes on the menu here is really good. Each dish, even the cheapest starter/appetiser, is a little work of art cooked with love. Wine list includes a lovely Lebanese red that I would gladly drink a crate of. This place is almost always full and buzzing with energy, deservedly so, because it is a... More

For a pre theatre dining experience this was great. Excellent veggie choices, tasty and well cooked. The service was not fast or rushed, however we had left plenty of time to eat. Relaxed surroundings, maybe a little noisy, a lovely atmosphere the real treat was definitely the food.

I ate here on Friday with friends. All of us thought the food was very good but the service wasn't great as we felt we were being hurried along. It was also very noisy that it was hard to hear what each other was saying. That said the fish curry was delicious.

This is not your average restaurant - in fact as you walk towards it you'd it was "nothing special"...but as you get closer the wonderful smell of mixed spices hits you and you're lured in! OK, sounds like a fairytale - but isn't! A reinvigorated business that was once down on it's luck but, thanks to a new vision and... More
